Hi Guys,
This is not a ROM/Kernal or some tweaks.
Just purely discussing and sharing some reviews abt current ROM's.
I hope this thread will help for some dummies, or for some who required Stable or Fater & Smoother or much great look ROM's.
This is purely my personal Experiance.. Im not commenting on any one's ROM just sharing few thoughts with you guys..
Correct me if i was wrong, and sorry if i unknowingly hurts anybody's feeling.
First of all thanks to our SGS ROM Developers where they are working nites for latest ROM's updated tweaks or kernals.. simply million thanks to them.. else we should have only SAM's deafult firmware.
Coming to my point,i purchased my SGS I9000 n dec 2010.
Previously i dont have any idea of ROM neither XDA nor anything.
When i googled for info on SGS then i found link to DARKYROM, there i got links to XDA.
FOA i would like to thak Darky as i started to flash Custom ROM after i read the whole story posted on his Darky 9.2 stable version, he included almost every thing like which a new guy can easily understand.
9.2 Darky ROM really rocks. Then i moved to DOC's thread,
oh man here u can cook ur own stuff... u ll get here any ROM/CSC/MODEM... this is purely awesome like a supermarket .
Then Juwe's/ultimate & Sweet honey.. these guys are nite raiders always go for newest and experiantal but they ll never let you down.
last but not least Serendity ROM(currently where my journey paused for a while), superb ROM with ultimate fast.
SO my obs are
darky:- if you want Stable Release and want to stay for long time this is best ROM i get.
DOC:- here u c all ROM's and all varieties till last date, you will really confuse which ROM/CSC/Modem version u should go,
I found Serendity is my choice where u will get excellent Faster smoother and Stable and less battery drain if you are with JPY Modem. I mean without any tweaks or some bla .. bla... Just simply install and sit back and enjoy Perfect ROM for daily use.
Once again im telling tht im not Judging any ROM here, just want to Share some views of mine on various ROM's.
2.3.2 is out but lot of FC's going currently no stable yet, i suggest wait for some Darky's/DOC's Stable Release.
I found (ROM) GingerCriskelo for 2.3.2 is bit smoother and less FC's (if anybody want to try 2.3.2).

Same for me + yes serendipity a big discover but it's not late!....2.3.2 will coming.....!!!!

A real cooker never needs to use such words

What abt Darky/Doc/Serendipty ... they never quoted any such comments on their posts... i havent seen yet ... hav u...!!!

I meant that when I see a cooker that uses such fancy words, I just ignore their roms. I used online rom generator to build a rom that close to the stock rom.

dud.. dud.. hold on.. im telling u again.. im not judging these(or any ROM's) nor commenting just want to share some reviews/thoughts of mine.. please take it low.. just share ur thoughts if any otherwsie dont just play ur words abt any ROM u feel online is better just say that simply.. instead of criticising other ROM's.. we are lucky to have these developers.. if u want u can create ur own Custome ROM with ur thoughts.. i hope u understood.

Guys i just flashed Insanity 0.6.7, way gud.. one should try.. just like Tricky very lite but look wise impressed with gud tweaks..

I have been on darky's for a little bit now (since early v8) and its been really, really nice. but now i seem to have cought the bug, and i just want to flash all the different roms out there and see whats out there. tomorrow I'm off to the land of cm7, then maybe miuiand then some of the roms here will be my next stops, i guess i'll report back with my findings

I am on Juwe 1.9 and it works great. Just waiting to see battery life, everything else I am satisfied.
Also when I had a HTC Desire, I was on MUIU and its was defenatly best custom ROM.

[Q] Cronos Ginger or Cyanogenmod 7 on Milestone

Hey guys, I'd like some personal opinions on both the Cronos Ginger 1.4.0 and Cyanogenmod 7.1.0. I've used both G.O.T. 2.2.1 and Cyanogenmod 6 and I've been pleased with them but I want to switch to 2.3 now.
1. Which is faster?
2. Which is more responsive?
3. Which is more stable?
4. Which is more suitable to long term use of apps like navigation etc?
5. Which is more suitable for hd apps like games or hd movie playback?
I'm curios about your experiences (i know that sounds a little bit... strange ) but seriously now. Leave me your feedback.

if u want aesthetics then go for miui by eyebee1970 .. ur stone will totally transform with that rom , the user interface is totally different ..

Different as in 'this milk tastes different' or different as in 'different is good'?
so cronos is the fastest and miui is the most eye candy?

I do know I might sound like a newbie although I am not but I've browsed the web up and down and I have yet to find a good tutorial on how to install cronos ginger. Basically I know that I have to copy the .zip in the update folder in OR, reset to factory defaults, clear cache, clear dalvik from the OR and apply the update.
But do I have to apply the latest gapps and also something else? If yes then what is that something else?

cronos will give u the fastest experience and the best battery life
miui is a balance between performance and battery life and aesthetics , its more colourful .. u feel u got a new phone because the interface is totally different, somewhat like iphone ..
u can get the rom here and instructions to download it .. there are patches as well if u want apps2sd and cm extras

[q] lewa rom vs miui rom

good afternoon,
I'm looking for a stable custom rom for my SGA. Reading around I understood that the LEWA ROM and the MIUi rom are the best ones
I would you like to know which are the differences between them and which is your opinion on them.

Indeed, it does look nice. But miui killer? Its a big ask at this early stage of development. Miui is second only to cm in downloads. Least that's what they say on the official site. Be nice to see a few more profesonal roms come out. Give users real choice, custom roms are great. But proper fully supported roms are always going to have the advantage.

I think, jasuda touch the point. It's important to have a nice and stable rom but in my opinion it's also important to have a support on the rom you install.
This is a big advantage.
Jusada, I read on your twitter, you lost "the right way" on creating new rom for the SGA. You have several supporters and they said you created very good roms in the past and I think you can continue to give a great contribute to our SGA even if professional team are working on sga rom now.

u cant do much if u dont have miui.....i hav tried both in my nexus 4 and believe me u will forget lewa if u try miui...better ask ur devs to port it fast...the miui kitkat ver has been released too

dude why revive a 2 year old thread?
aynway miui is better than lewa in my opinion
we already have miui gb and miui ics
miui gb is better than ics in terms of speed and stability

hmm...its placed like that coz it wuld be easier to categorize. people who like battery backup, can choose easily and like wise for other categories.

[Q] Which is the most stable Custom ROM?

Hi Guys! I am a bit lost here due to the number of ROMS available for this device.
My mom owns this phone, and she would love to get an update for her phone. She currently runs stock, and I was wondering which custom ROM do you think would be most stable.
It doesn't have to be the best. The most important part is the stability of the ROM. My mom is nowhere near techy. She even gets lost in Facebook. So I don't want to complicate things for her during her use. She needs a custom rom with memory managment but stable. ICS would be great and all, but she can stay in Gingerbread if that is the only stable ROM available.

Well if your mom is not all that techie then don't make a leap to a custom rom, the only 100% fully stable rom is the stock one right now. If you want, root the phone for her. If she wants an ICS look install Holo Launcher and get some ICS wallpapers, that is the best you can get to making the phone ICS-like.
But as for your question, the most stable are these:
1. Stocklite v7.1 (Closest thing to stock, but better because it gets rid of the Samsung bloatware.)

2. Apocalypse ROM (CM 7.2 based for best perfromance i.e. faster gps locks, better memory optimization etc, but you will take a battery hit, not a lot but battery drain will be higher here)

I've used both of these roms for months on end and they never game me any problems, so you are safe with anyone you choose.

Hopefully I won't have to keep maintaining the phone for her. I am used to having my data backed up and wiped, then restored, but she doesn't like the whole flashing cycle.

Hi Pals, which would be the most stable ICS Rom out here.

Myth 2 for me hands down + INT2EXT+ = best thing to happen to your Ace.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I went ahead with apocalypse for now, but when the ICS or JB builds get more stable, I might offer her another update. For now she is really happy with it.

i think for stable custom rom, you can choose :
- apocalypse
- droidace V2
- Miracle V4
but if you want something different, you can choose new MIUIXXX rom, im still using it n i love it..

I agree with him, use the MIUI GB ROM MIUIXXX. It is really smooth and stable + it has free themes like Vapor Ice online.

Hello, I recommend an old and good CM7.2fat and CM7.2 democracy, now I'm on android 4.0.4 CM9 from maclaw and also I'm happy.
CM7.2 fat is rather most stable of these have given.

Hey try adrenaline final, its the simple and best ROM you can find, give a try. You would like it.
