I would love to use dock mode sometimes but it seems so boring.I have searched for ways to change the dock mode widgets with no luck.I am able to change the dock mode shortcuts and the wallpaper but i would rather change the music widget to Google Music Widget. My reason is because my google music don't show up on the dock in the default music widget. Is there any way to change the widgets in dock mode
Running stock ICS 4.0 Sense 3.6 locked.I prefer not to use a different launcher.
I too would like to change the music widget out for FriendStream like in GB. Not that I can see it at night, it is just a better widget than the music which, for me, is a big bunch of nothing on the screen. At least FriendStream is something to look at.
I did find other dock mode screens in the market but this is the only one that will go into dock mode if you are coming from the lock screen (with a PIN).
I have ran across some forums that mention Wave Launcher as a nice dock launcher.
I may try it later on when i feel like spending the $1.99 that is cost

The dude talks about it here>

I would so like the ability to change the widget on the widget on the dock screen. I am looking at this all day at work. I much preferred the friend stream. Even better would be a photo slideshow.
I would also like to straight up remove the three launch icons on the bottom.
Does any one know if these things can be done?

I really like some of the Samsung widgets, but to not like the Touchwiz launcher. So, I installed Launcher Pro, which I vastly prefer. Unfortunately, now the Samsung widgets are not in the add widget menu.
Is there any trick I can do to get them back?
I'd also like to know this, the Facebook Stream widget was really useful, the stock one is awful!

Yeah that is the widget I want most as well.
It is the best I have seen for android so far that integrates both twitter and facebook. I tried out this one on the market called "Socialite", it is *OK*, but not as good as the Samsung one.
So i have to decide, do I want a decent integrated Facebook / Twitter widget, or do I want a decent launcher?
???
Does anybody have an answer to this? I myself like pretty much all the futures in TW - would mainly like to change the 4 icons on the bottom and maybe even have the ability to hide the notification bar.
Is there a way to incorporate TW samsung widgets into launcher pro for example?
Thanks
I suppose Samsung's widgets are tied to the Touchwiz Launcher and incompatible with other launchers
It's a pity because I really like the Accuweather Clock over the other available widgets. But LauncherPro is so much better than the Samsung Launcher, I can't go without a launcher that lets me hide apps from the app drawer due to the massive amount of crap it gets flooded with.
You can change the left 3 icons on the bottom (but not the Applications one).
Just go to the Applications screen and press Menu and choose Edit. Then, move the icons off and put another in place.
I'm pretty sure it's impossible. I wanted to do that but was told by different ppl it was impossible. Same goes for Launcher Pro widgets in Touchwizz (i prefere the LP ones vs the Samsung). They are tied to the launcher u use.
You could put Home Switcher on each of the home screens of TW and LP then just switch between them just like moving to a different page. Just an idea.
Thanks fro the ideas, sounds like it's a no-go for right now at least.....
One more thing, does launcher pro juice the battery as same as TW? And when I used launcher pro in the past, I really liked to use the option "hide notification bar", i think it gives it a cleaner look, but at the same time it won't notify me when i receive an email ( other than the sound), I did search this in the past with no luck, so is there a widget, icon, something that I can install that will show on the screen when I received email, when using LP?
Thanks
I use executive assistant but it is a paid app. Worth it I believe though.
ok, So even though ADW isnt official for HC and you cant get it from the market I was able to side load it and I noticed a glitch. Say if you have either a gmail or email widget on your homescreen (the ones built into hc) and you go to a different home screen and flip the tablet to portrait to landscape of visa versa it wont stay on the current screen, it will flip to the homescreen that has the widgets. When I removed the widgets it would stay on the current screen. So what I did was move the widgets off my default screen to the 2nd screen. I went to different screen and flipped the tablet and this time instead of flipping back to the home screen it flipped back to whatever screen I had the widget(s) on. I tried using JUST the gmail widget and not the email widget and I got the same results, also tried just the email widget and not the gmail and got the same results. So something is causing ADW to go to whatever screen the widget is on when you switch orientation.
Can anyone who has adw confirm if this is happening to you as well?
i havent had that problem but i get a fc trying to use the adw ex email widget. also i do not like how the wallpaper aligns on the screen using the launcher in landscape mode. id rather use the stock launcher because of that one reason. im kinda picky i guess haha
Hi, I've been having this issue for a very long time now, actually ever since I started to use the said music player app. It's an amazing app, no doubt, as it gives you a very good music player with a zune-like ui. The problem I have is with the widget. If you put an Ubermusic widget 4x4 on your screen, and the orientation is in portrait, you'll get 6 buttons: prev, play/pause and next at the bottom of the widget, and playlist, repeat, shuffle on the right side. But for some reason, whenever I rotate my screen into landscape, the last three buttons (playlist, repeat, shuffle) inconveniently disappears.) I tried 'resizing' the widget in landscape to see if it will fix the problem, but I find out that even if you resize it in the maximum size that it can get (10x10), it still won't let you see those buttons IF IT'S IN LANDSCAPE. It functions fine in portrait, but the problem is I always use my device (a NookColor running CM7,) in landscape. I tried this on various launchers as well. I primarily use ADW EX and I tried it in Go Launcher but it still won't solve the problem. I tried contacting the developer, he said that since the widget was designed with phone constraints in mind, it will always be that way. I suggested a widget usable in landscape but he didnt respond. I love this app, and I woukd greatly appreciate it if someone can help me out. Is there any way to modify the APK and correct the widget or at least 'trick' the widget into thinking that it's in landscape? By the way, the widget skin I used was the Clear Widgets Skin (transparent one).
Tapatalkin' it from my rooted NookColor running CM7 MiRaGe [KANG] [7.2 RC] overclocked @ 1.2 GHz
Hope someone can help out. :'(
I have the Atrix HD, and the one thing that constantly irks me is I cannot figure out how to stretch the wallpaper to fit the entire screen. Could someone inform me?
I have no clue how your doing that. I can't get mine to not be cropped.
Sent from my Atrix HD MAXX 4.1
Try "mulipicture live wallpaper" from the play store to set you wallpaper with. Providing your wallpapers are the correct resolution, it will set them up properly without cropping.

It doesnt make sense Moto's launcher makes you crop it in the way it does considering there's no scrolling wallpaper and there's no landscape either

Didn't know about the dock. Obviously other launchers have the feature, but other launchers allow you to select non scrooling wallpaper and fit it accordingly.
Apex launcher redirects you to the gallery background set screen unless you install a background that came with a theme. i dont remember about nova launcher, but you still have to crop it on apex
I just installed another launcher (Action Launcher Pro), so I no longer have access to the HTC widgets. I want a basic music widget with play/pause, next/previous, album art and artist/song name. Basically, something like the stock HTC widget. 4x1 or 4x2 would be ideal sizes.
I have tried:
Plug In Music Widget: Perfect functionality, pretty ugly.
Phantom Music Control: No album art. Also, instead of a pause button, it has a stop button, meaning pressing play after that restarts the song. :-/ Also, it's feature of tapping the widget to open the music app also doesn't work for some reason, it says that it was unable to open the app.
Pure music widget: No previous button on any of the widgets other than the 4x4 one, which is too big.
Anyone got any other suggestions?

I use .. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zZXlhLnBsdWdtdXNpYyJd
Very good imo, not 100% sure if it works on the default HTC player but it works fine on the Google one.

Works perfect on the HTC player. I guess it is better than the previous winner, since it does everything I need.
Ideally, I just need one that looks better because this one is pretty ugly. However, I guess beggars can't be choosers, so if I don't find a better looking one, this is the winner.
Ugly is a very subjective word, what's ugly to you may be beautiful to someone else ... Saying that, I have mine set up with a transparent background and other stuff so that it works well with my wallpaper and screen setup ...

That's not a bad way to implement it. However, you had to put a lot of effort to get that 1 specific look. What I like about some widgets, like the HTC music widget, is that it's very versatile and looks good with just about any scenario.

True, I quite like a minimal look, although for me, there's a lot going on in that screenshot I posted lol .. I agree, the HTC music widget is nice, I'm just not a fan of the background colour, I think all widgets should allow you to change the background.
