[Q] Accelerometer working in CM9? - TouchPad Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using CM9 nightly build & have noticed that although screen rotation works fine, I cannot use any games that depend on the accelerometer for steering etc. Is this a known problem with CM9 and is there a fix?

HI,
I also was wondering, I was trying to play wario ware twisted on my emulator which uses accelerometer but it didn't work?

Do your other accelerometer apps and functions work? Autorotate or other games? Mine works.

I'm using cm9 nightly too and it works for me. I think u have the version without acc and mic fix.

Hi, it works great on mine. I just bought the full version tonight.
Go into the settings and switch from "Acceleormeter" to "Touchscreen" and steer by tapping on either side of the screen for left and right.
Lots of fun!
I couldn't get the accelerometer control to register at all with TNTLite 2.2 and I didn't care for the touch-screen controls. Uninstalled the game in the end.
Too bad, I really wanted to play an accelerometer game and Turbofly 3D looked pretty cool.

[Q] Sixaxis Controller on Android 4.0.3

Hi all,
For people who dont know what it is, SixAxis Controller allows you to play games on Android with your PS3 controller. In the latest versions developers included touch emulation, which allow to play games like PES2012 with virtual keyboards.
So yesterday I tried SixAxis Controller 0.3.7...this is the resume of that experiment:
Install. OK
Check Compatibility. OK
Pair Controller. OK
Create a profile to PES2012. OK
Playing. FAILED (No response to controller inputs)
Does anyone tried SixAxis Controller on Nexus S?
Which OS version are you running?
Do you have this problem?
Best Regards
I've tried version 0.3.9 on my galaxy s and it works fine except for the touch profiles which don't seem to work at all!
Btw, I'm on teamhacksung building 12 of ics 4.0.3

Yep, tested 0.3.9 version and the touch profiles still dont work on nexus s 4.0.3 stock rom...
Same thing happened to me when playing gta
playing GTA3 from NS4G ics only gave me analog stick & d-pad control...I even downloaded premade controller maps that people claim work flawlessly and it still wouldn't work for me.
Doesn't work for me!!
I'm using teamhacksung build 15 on Samsung Galaxy S (GT-i9000).
I manage to connect the gamepads but there's no response in the games... any idea??
Worked ok on GTA III
It was a little unresponsive but I think its cause I only have like a gig left...slow....phone...
I'm having problems too.
My Dualshock can connect to my Nexus S, it works on my homescreen with moving, but when I want to play a game (Age of zombies, Nova 3) it doesn't work..

Google map and Nook

Why does Google Map sucks soo much on the nook? It constantly FC's and hangs on my Nook running CM9. I'm also dual booting CM7 on SDcard, it doesn't suck so much, but occasionally still hangs/FC.
I have the latest Google Map v. 6.1.1.
I'm guessing the lack of onboard GPS on the Nook has something to do with all the FC's. But I tether via TetherGPS, and it still FC sometimes. Waze seems to works fine on CM7 but FC on CM9.
Anyone can recommend a working navigation solution with CM9 Nook?
I'm not on cm9 but I use Sygic app for navigation on my cm7 nc using bt gps receiver. Try out, if it works plz tell me I plan to go to cm9 soon.

FWIW Google Maps and Google Earth work just fine for me. I would not be surprised if a lot of things are not working correctly in CM9 on a NC yet. CM9 is very early.
Update: Google Maps now works smoothly for me on CM9. I updated to latest nightly (1/28), OC with Antutu CPU master, set gov to InteractiveX, and updated to Maps v6.2.0.
Not sure which one of those made it worked. I'm very pleased. Now to mount this bad boy in the car. 7" touch screen Nav! Muhaha

[Q] Games with tilt don't work on Kindle Fire HD

Many games with tilt feature are not working properly on Kindle Fire HD, they go backwards and upside down. For example in Stick Stunt Biker, when you move the device in order to pull or push the bike the game does the opposite. Is there some way to fix this??

xdadevelopersmac76,
This is normally caused by what is called "Accelerometer Noise" and the games inability to
filter through the noise. First I would go to Google Play Store, search for Accelerometer,
download and install a good Accelerometer Testing Application to make sure your
Kindle Fire's Accelerometer is working properly. If the Accelerometer test is OK,
then you will need to go to each game vendor and ask them if they offer a upgrade.
Always use the latest revision of the software and never share the software since
this will void the software warranty and keep you from upgrades.
Thanks!

xdadevelopersmac76,
Were you able to resolve this problem or did it turn out to be a problem with the Kindle?
I hope you were able to resolve the problem, if not, respond and we will try a few other
tests to determine if it is just "by design".
I'm having this same problem. Games like osmos display and jelly defense display upside down (no matter how irritate the kindle). Probably the accelerometer is inverted too. Looked for noise in an accelerometer app, and it looks pretty clean.
Seems to be a problem with the kindle...
Maybe needs a setting screen option. Some apps display fine. But it looks like full screen games without a "kindle edition" are broken.

For app rotation issues, use the Lock button on the Quick Settings bar. That will hold the app to a single orientation. I played through Osmos successfully with the help of the Lock button. Unfortunately, I'm guessing this doesn't help at all for tilt control issues (never tried it - I don't care for those kind of games at all).
Yep, that's a good workaround. Thankfully, I don't play games that require tilt on here.
Still, a fix would me most welcome.... someday maybe!

[Q] [Nook HD] Netflix performance on stock and CM10.1 - audio sync issues?

Greetings. Quick question. Does anyone else have audio sync issues using Netflix on CM10.1? Or can anyone running stock confirm whether Netflix is ok on stock or has the same problem? My audio runs behind the video by a second or so which is incredibly annoying. I tried different streaming settings but none improved it.
I am running Netflix 2.3.2 build 932 on verygreen 10.1 native EMMC
Thanks!
Chris
No replies so I just reflashed with the stock ROM and Netflix works perfectly - no audio sync problems like there are on CM10.1
Netflix works perfectly for both stock 1.2 and CM 10.1 for me. I notice Stock lags when I press the n button and CM 10.1 lags on subtitles. So I guess both have problems

I tried it today and mine seems to work just fine. I am using CM10.1-20130628 and Netflix version 2.3.2 build 932.
I also have the sound lag on Netflix. I'm using cm-10.1-20130706 and Netflix 2.3.2 build 932.

I have the same 10.1 & Netflix version 2.3.2 and Netflix goes to a grey screen with nothing shown except the Nook controls. I eventually get a Netflix isn't responding Do you want to close prompt. If I wait it does nothing.
Update: I installed 1.8.1 of Netfix and it works, then tried to update to 2.3.2. It loads run as far as letting me select program I want to watch, but when it runs the program the screen is chopped into 3 pieces with various parts displayed incorrectly. Went back to 1.8.1 but when played it will play for a period then stop and show buffering, then startup again. CM7 didn't have this problem.
FIX HERE
Problem persists but I have finally found a fix!
Install the following Xposed HACK and it will trick Netflix into thinking you are running Android 4.0 and this fixes the audio sync / lip sync / audio delay problems that I have experienced on the Nook HD with Cyanogenmod 10.1.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2101525
Note I have only tried this on a Nook HD using CM 10.1.3 stable. I have no idea whether it works or not on HD+ or other ROMs.
