Thanks dude!! I knew my headphones had better bass and this made it 1000x better!

Doesnt work for me not sure if its because i already flashed one zip trying to get it on there but i uninstalled that and tried this apk... no luck

Can we use this in conjunction with beats audio?

I believe you could since the file he posted was an apk file and not a zip. I don't think it would overwrite the beats files.

Hmm, I don't want to have to ask you to wipe, but that might be likely what you have to do since I know the older DSP on GB has library files in full flashable zip format, and I have no idea whether it replaces files or modifies preexisting ones.
Can you define not working? Is it not installing the app? Is it FCing? Do settings not change anything?
Good test to see if it's working, turn on the Equalizer and screw around with the two highest frequencies. There should be a pronounced effect. Also, if there is no "headphones" indicator in your notification bar when you plug headphones in, then that's screwed up too, since that happens on HTC stock ROMs.
If it's still borked, try flashing your ROM zip without wiping your data. Everything that might be wrong in this situation SHOULD be in the /system folder and not the /data folder.
Else, you might need to just CWM-backup and wipe to test.

That is just the apk. You still need the lib and conf files to make it work 100%. I have attached all files in a CWM flashable package. It works fantastic on my Vivid with WC's ICS ROM!

Hmm, I've definitely done no lib nor conf alterations on the Telstra ROM (flashed straight from the PG-compiled OTA. I'm also on a Vivid, and it definitely worked through both bass boost and EQ settings. Did not test virtual room or DRC.
Just dropping the APK appeared to work for me. Perhaps the underlying framework was already present in the Telstra ROM but missing from the AT&T one? Seems strange, since the AT&T one has Beats and is (theoretically) a later version.

Be that as it may, those are the files pulled directly from CM9 and there are many other DSP mgr threads on XDA mention and recommend. I didn't make the app and km not speaking on behalf of CM just sharing what I've learned making my own ROMs.
Sent from my Sony Walkman....sike!

The apk may work partially, but for it to hook into all audio ouputs, you definitely need the library files/Drivers.

Is this working on the official ICS OTA?

Didn't work for me..it installs fine but don't change nothing ....wcx generic build and thats with the flash zip

Tried with flash zip manually pushing files, fixing perms. Not sure what I'm doing wrong would love to have I can't hear my ringer sometimes in the middle of the night.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium

I am using WC's generic and had to uninstall the apk that came in the zip and use the one from the OP. I'm not certain that the other files in the zip are even needed because I know at least two people who never used the zip and have it working just fine. I haven't bothered reflashing my ROM to find out since WC is supposed to be releasing an update soon. I'll just add the apk next time and see if that works.

Not working on htc vivid ics
have a unlocked htc vivid..its bootloader unlocked and rooted and running stock ics rom from htc, i badly want dsp manager as i think its way better than the beats audio thats in it right now..any way i can be able to use dsp manager?
i have tried installing the apk, installs properly and the app opens but its of no use.. even if i change the eq settings in dsp manager it does not work at all
also tried flashing it using recovery but no luck either i read that it works with custom toms but i love htc sense and i want to keep everything as it is but just want dsp manager
would be really greatful if anyone can help me out here!

There's currently only 1 ROM that's been "De-sensed", though it's still based on a Sense build. Currently we don't have any AOSP/AOKP builds...soon though. What I'm saying is, if you choose to move to a custom ROM, at this point it will be built on Sense

need it any cost
is dsp manager is working to anyone?? if yes let me know how, which rom and all details! i desperately need it

It works on the stock Telstra OTA, the equalizer works without flashing; the rest needs the CWM version, as far as I've tested.

HTC Android Dev Phone update

Well i was going to grab the camera app from the dev build as i am on Jf 1.51
Well went to there site and i see
"Attention!
This update applies to the Android Dev Phone for developers only. The Android Dev Phone with its unique color and pattern can be seen here. This update will not work on the T-Mobile G1 or any other Android powered phone."
the files name is
signed-dream_devphone_userdebug-img-150275.zip
This isnt the file that was on there website befor it was
ADP1.5_signed-dream_devphone-ota-147201
.
So my questions are
1.) What is this new Dev img
2.) Will it really mess up my tmobile g1? I thought only different was firmware
Does the HTC ADP build contain the HTC Camera app? If that's what you want then flash a Cyanogen build, it has it built in.
Don't really know what that update will do to your phone, I wouldnt risk it for a feature already in another ROM.
yea the Cyanogen build does have it and alot of other stuff that i would like to delete from thats why im still on jf.
And i wasnt going to flash the htc dev jsut wanted to know because I flashed the old 1.5 version and now i see this one so i was wondering

What would you want to delete from Cyanogen? It's just like JF but with auto Apps2SD and some dinut stuff...
teeter , T-Mobile IM application, Amazon MP3, replace the launcher hate 5x6 icon spacing, and need to add some default audio change cpu back to stock for battery.
Is it possible to just delete and repack update i know for apk but what about adding audio plus i would hate to do that every time there was an update

Yeah, just resign the apk, or modify after flash.
Teeter and Amazon mp3 just need their apk's removed.
Battery life is hardly an issue, but you can use SetCPU (its free on these forums)
I think audio can remain on you sdcard, so it's unaffected by ROM flashes.
I think you can push back the launcher from JF to get the old spacing back.
ok on audio is there anyway to have it on the phone or can i push it to system/sd/media or something like that. I have an issue were if the phone is mounted my ring tones wont sound and thats because there on fat32 sd.
thanx for all the help

Audio question

Lately I've been having problems with the audio on my G1 and I'm not sure if it's the rom I'm using or if it's the phone.
Here is the problem...
When i'm on a call there is noise in the background as if the I'm standing in front of a fan and the caller goes in/out and can't hardly hear me.
Does anyone know what this could be?
I've noticed this using Super D 1.6 and WG Y2.6 CFS.
I have tried the audio hack previously but not with these roms and I've wipe several times but the problem is still there.
I don't want to have to unroot to send my phone back, if anyone know what I can do to fix this problem I would greatly appreciate it.
When using the Audio hack you must:In order
1.Flash Install old V1/V2/V3 first,Kill media then reboot
2.Now you can flash V2R2 or other one <--Best one and kill media and reboot
I think you kill media before doesnt really seem to matter for me, works fine for me.Are you using the hack or doing it the ol-fashion way?

If you kill the mediaserver then you shouldn't need to reboot.
And i don't think it's a software problem. You could test by doing a backup, switching ROMs and seeing if the problem persists. If not, then it's a problem with the audiofiles, but if it does it's most likely a hardware problem.

[HOW TO]Easy Way to change Framework to Add Battery %

I have tested this with DHD builds only but I'm sure it works with any build as long as you have adb intsalled.
1st. Download and unzip the attached file
2nd. Add the Framework-res.apk of your choice to the extracted folder
3rd. Plug your phone into your computer with USB debug on and Charge only selected.
4th. Click Change framework in the folder that you extracted and added the framework to.
This will cause your phone to reboot. Now you will have to re-enter your Google and HTC accounts.

hey thank you I'm gonna use this next time I change the file. Probably I will still have to make it bootloop...
It's funny cause I've tried everything that suppopsedly works for everyone else, such as copying and pasting with root explorer, or using droid explorer but it won't connect properly. Then to top it all off adb push can't push unless its bootlooping. I feel like I just can't win sometimes...

Hey this worked perfectly. But I just flashed to a different ROM too. On the other build I was using I issued the same adb commands in the prompt and definately got completely different results. Thanks for this tool.
Edit:
Your tool works about half of the time, but its not its fault. adb works for me only about half the time. But for some reason now I get millions of FCs after I replace framework-res.apk.

Just tried it and got boot loop. Was trying to change the theme in my Coredroid clockworkmod build.

P.S. With this build I didn't even have to re-input my Google and HTC accounts

screwed up my camera .apk

So i was trying to remove the shutter sound and focus sound from the camera.
I came across this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1229272
This is what i did: I moved the new camera apk into the system>apps folder using root explorer. Then i changed the permissions to rwxrwxrwx. Then did a reboot. When i try the camera, it force closes. I fooooolishily did not backup the original apk.
Im not sure why it didnt work. Im new and im not sure what how to use the script files in the zip in the other thread. I tried to download the original rogers rom, but its no longer available. I tried a bunch of other htccamera.apks and they dont work. Maybe the htccamera.apk is specific to a 5 mp camera.
Either way i dont wanna do a factory reset just yet, could someone upload a camera from htc raider 2.3.4. With sense 3.0? or help me fix the camera? As a bonus, maybe someone could explain what the two script files do.
I thank anyone who contributes in advance and apologize if this is in the wrong section or for any conventions i broke.

This belongs in the general section. However, you can turn the shutter off. Open Camera, hit menu button, settings, scroll down, uncheck shutter sound.
Also,

There is no option to turn off shutter, i looked, 4 times. And even if i could, i would wanna remove focus sound too.
The link you posted, i tried that too, both versions, still doesnt work.

You're still on 2.3.4? Download the ROM youre using and pull the apk from then and put in in system/apps. Then clear cache and dalvik.
Im using the stock rom because i dont like to constantly update if i used a custom (sometimes they are unstable). Rogers didnt come up with ics yet. I think i mentioned in my first post, i tried to download the rom from the stock rom thread, but its not available anymore. Maybe factoryfiles lost the rogers rom. I downloaded another ruu but its .exe. when i extract it there are 4 small files and one large 400mb data file and i cant extraxt that one. This is why im making the post, i would like for someone to post a 2.3.4 htc.camera.apk or somehow solve it (because i made some mistake that isnt obvious to me)
P. S. Whats delvik and do you suggest a rom?

URGENT HELP! No sound from speakers after volume mod. Heaphones are okay.

I just got my verizon turbo xt1254 and have it unlocked, rooted and xposed installed, on SU4TL-44, and just put all my apps and data on it, then stupidly flashed the higher volume mod from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-maxx/development/motomaxx-volume-mod-t3019203 onto my phone. Now my phone has no sound at all from any source through the speaker. Headphones still work. Is there a way to fix this? Preferably without wiping my data or having to reroot and install xposed and all again?
Restore from backup, it's better from stock rom. I had a similar problem with another mod, i personally recommend viper4android, thats a good mod for the turbo, but it must be on compatible mode (using computerfreak excellent ROM)
Unfortunately I was an idiot and didn't make a backup. Lesson learned I guess. Would I be able to flash the pre rooted system image from this post http://www.theandroidsoul.com/update-droid-turbo-to-android-5-1-1-with-mofo-root-retained-yes-its-possible-now-81652/ and then just reinstall xposed? Or would that wipe my data partition also?
Have you tried just dirty flashing your current ROM?
I just got back into the game of flashing phones after being out for a tear it two, what us dirty flashing, and in on stock 5.1 just unlocked using sunshine and rooted and installed twrp.

Dirty flashing is flashing the rom without wiping any cache or data. You should go ahead and make a backup in twrp now. Also install titanium backup and then make a backup of your apps and data. Copy. Both twrp and titanium backups to your pc so you can get back to them if need to. The twrp backup is not in the directory you might expect. I'd tell you but I don't remember off hand. If you search these forums it won't take you long to find.
After that you can flash a rom. The one you linked earlier was to get to 5.1 from 4.4 via mofo. If you want that one go to First Encounters thread. It will tell you what to download and how to flash it with twrp. You could also try Computerfreeks.
I don't know of a way to dirty flash what you are on, and guarantee that that you won't lose your apps/data. If you have your titanium backups it will be easier to restore. Still a pain but easier. You'll download titanium again, then restore your apps. That's better than downloading all of your apps again. If you haven't used titanium before, you need the pro version and should practice freezing, backing up and restoring before you flash any rom's.
To be honest, I'm not really THAT concerned with losing all my data. I still have it on my old droid maxx. I was just hoping for a way to fix my issue without losing it all if possible since I literally just out it all on there yesterday.

The mod that you flashed replaced /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml. You don't have to wipe anything to fix this. Unzip the mixer_paths.xml file that I've attached to this post and place it in a convenient location on your phone. Then use a root browser to copy this file to /system/etc on your phone (replacing the file that is currently at that location). Then set the permissions of this file to rw-r--r--. It should be good after a reboot.
I just tried that and I still have no sound, and now when I try to play a song in Google music or watch something on YouTube, I just get an error. And still no sound at all. Could I get the 2bd mixer paths file from you also by chance?

I'm running Computerfreek's mod of SU4TL-44, and there is no such file. However, there is a mixer_paths_i2s.xml file.
I had assumed that CF had not made any mods to this file, but that might be incorrect. I'll try to find the file from a stock SU4TL-44 image and that should fix the problem.
But like I said before, the only thing that the Moto Maxx volume mod that you flashed did was replace mixer_paths.xml, so you should not need any other files if that's all you've done.

Here's a flashable zip of the stock, unmodified mixer_paths.xml from SU4TL-44, courtesy of Computerfreek. Simply flash with TWRP.
Yeah I had apparently tried to fix it by replacing that file earlier with a different one, plus also tried to manually fix it too. I now have it fixed. I had the permissions wrong. My sound is back and working now! Thanks billion!! Any chance you know what I need to change to make my sound louder? I don't know what line to edit. But I miss the loud volume of my droid maxx.

Awesome! No problem. If you feel adventurous and want to go louder, you can increase the values of RX(1-7) Digital Volume and DEC(1-10) Volume. Be careful with that though. You can break your speakers if you go too high.
