Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone knew of any ROM development taking place for our device?
Whilst an official ICS update has been confirmed by HTC, it'd be awesome to see CM/MIUI/AOSP some time in the near future.
If anyone could shed any light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah but I don't believe in HTC RUU Update Announcements anymore... They said ICS is gonna on XL, but who knows when...?
I'm gonna count on Capy and his team...
Btw, there are 1 or 2 Custom ROM has made for this device including the famous RCMix3D Runnymede one
Capy does seem to be the only dev releasing custom roms at the moment but I still have faith in other devs! I'm waiting for roms such as litening rom that was released but discontinued on the galaxy s2

Be patient fellas, when the Desire S first came out, I worried with lack of development, but soon the device will become popular, and you will get great dev support..

Time will definitely tell. Admittedly, I'm a huge fan of MIUI so if it became available that'd be awesome

Well capy has said he will look into getting MIUI on the XL...
Would love to have a go at it myself... but unfortunately I wouldn't know where to start

the hardest bit is trying to figure out the edify file. so you'll need this, exactly as it is, including the blank line at the top:

apart from that, read, read and read some more about rom cooking, removing apk's etc. once you've done a few ones where you have customised stuff, you might be able to go on to more crazy projects like porting and the rest.
for now, i'm just working my way through the in's and out's of my first rom...just for me, so i can get my head round it. Maybe if i have time and the inclination, i might release one later on once i've got much better at it, but it'll not be anything as good as Capy's stuff...He knows what he's doing.....I don't!
I'm looking for a new device, and rhe XL is one of them....
1 thing that stop me from buying this device is ....No SD slot...
So maybe you can flash BinDroid soon.

No. Best solution is a DHD ROM port. As its similar specs

DHD does seem to be the closest hardware wise...
Though how the hell you'd go about porting it across is beyond me...at least for the moment. there's some porting stuff in Dsixda's kitchen if anyone fancies a go?

hey guys.i just come over from sgs2 and i now have the xl aswell,yeah it seems possible we could get development going and porting DHD/HD2 roms,would involve changing a thew things like the kernel but roms that are already based on the XL are more better to start with
Any leaks already?
I red that sxl didnt get sense 4.0 . How true it is , i dont know.

Me too. it's just nobody is brave enough to port this to XL. Resizing and stuff, because EVO have qhd display 540X960 and dual core (i think that shouldn't be the problem for the brave person,or for the right person !!!!)

We are now having the HTC One V leak. So no need to resize stuffs anymore. Just need to fix and port so it can work correctly on the Sensation XL. Anyone interests?

XE on Android 2.3 had Sense 3.0. On Android 4.0 it has Sense 3.6. Any variations on that are custom ROMS. Hope that helps!

The endeavour is the One X
And if anyone fancies a go at porting it feel free, I would never attempt it because I know that it is going to be a massive amount of work, because you will have to resize absolutely everything, to get it to fit, I've looked at a full sense 4 port from the DHD and in my eyes it unusable because its not been resized at all and all of the icons are way too big...
Well before we go porting a full sense 4 rom hoe about we iron out the bugs in the sense 4 from we have now hey?

@anonymous_1997: i changed some bin xbin etc files...after that..it also boots...it said (after boot) your phone memory is not right formated...format..? i say no...and shut down phone..(want go back to recovery and restore backup) but phone was complete dead...there was no way to bring it back...also not with riff box...so i replaced it with and display brocken sxl from ebay..and maked my display in...thats why i´m a bit carefully now...for such things it would be good to have sxl 2x ...

Hello all.
Yesterday I lost my sensation xl. It fall out of my pocket while I was test driving codefirex 4.2.1 jelly bean. So here is my question.
Should I buy similar device so I can keep developing for sensation xl or should I just stop developing on this phone?
I have found a used sensation xl for 173 euro and I think I can find that money but I want to know if it will be worth it.
If I buy another one I will continue developing jelly bean but without a sensation xl I will stop.
Also if someone knows about a sensation xl that is cheaper I will be happy

We would loose a great developer! But you have to decide to spend your money on the SXL again or buy another one. We would probably miss you =) =) =).

Yay! Thats good news. In fact i pre ordered Xperia Z couple of nights ago but gonna keep SLX second phone and for playing with xda roms. If this had lte and better reception, i wouldnt even get a new one. But we still need JB.

Bumping a thread three times is useless. You see nobody elses does have the time/motivation/need to find a way to port Sense 4.5 or 5 on the SXL, so if you really want it, learn to develop ROMs yourself, as I am doing now to build 4.2.2 AOSP ROM.
