Headphone Vol + / Vol - Control - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a possible way to utilize the +/- button on headphones to 1 press and change the volume. I found an APP on Google Play called "Headset Button Controller" but it still doesn't seem to be able to recognize the Volume + and Volume - keys.
Any suggestions?

+1 I would love to know if this can be done. I have also had quite an extensive search on this issue and I have not been able to determine why this is not possible. I have seen apps that allow you to use the one button to increase or decrease sound by pressing 4 or 5 times (how stupid?!).
I have a set of Dre Beats (before people comment: if you don't like them I don't care) and want to be able to use the remote.
I have seen images of the headphone jack which has been pulled apart which indicate several connector rings, meaning that a remote control with three buttons should work. I would even settle for a stock remote from Samsung which allows you to connect your own headphones to it but nothing.
If anyone can shed any more light on this subject it would be greatly appreciated.

The white Samsung headphones that come with the SGN-7000 change the media volume when the up/down buttons on the headset are pressed.. or am i missing something here?

I would love to have an adapter where it have volume control and the receive/end call button and yet you can use your own 3.5mm earphones too.
The IEM with buttons that came with n7000 sucks moreover you cant use your own earphones
anyone managed to find such an adapter? :/

Map volume buttons long press with PocketMusic ?

Hi there.
I have been searching for a solution to my problem the last few days (on xda among others), but didn't achieve.
Here it is:
I didn't find out how to correctly map a long press for Volume buttons on PocketMusic:
1) I tried without any other soft than the player itself: doesn't work (but possible for other buttons).
2) I tried with A LOT of buttons remapping software (AEB Plus, Hbutton, others...). No one was able to allow this. In the best case, the behavior of the volume buttons is the same as when there is no remapping soft. In the worst case, the buttons didn't work at all anymore.
I also tried long press volume keys mapping under CorePlayer (without help of any external soft), and it works, but keys mapping is reset to system default after closing/relaunching the player.
Have you any idea about how to resolve this ?
Btw : it's a Diamond with original French Vodafone ROM.
Thanks in advance !!
No one experienced this problem ? No idea ?
Diamond native music player really sucks... Was definitely not made for nomad users !
PocketMusic is the most complete player i tried on it, though several limitations/cons:
- sound is a bit low with my headphones (sony-ericsson HPM-70 with htc mini-usb to jack converter) and PocketMusic's equalizer is one of the worst i've ever heard !
- playing list use is not easy, especially for finger-use.
Still no way of mapping long press for volume button with this soft ?
As you are within the topic:
I can not change the volume anymore by holding down the volume buttons, but pressing them show the correct screen, only the level is not adjusted.
That happened after softreset (and that 3 times now). I am on Bepe 0.95 Rom, and could only get the volume control back by a Hard reset =(
Any idea?
Mapping volume buttons with Spb Plus....
I've been trying to map the vol buttons for long press to activate MSVC using Spb Plus.....and getting no-where. I'm not even sure which buttons (1, 2, 3, 4, etc) maps to volume levels either...just using trial and error. Will post back if I can get this sorted
AEBPlus + Conduits Pocket Player do not seem to work that bad... Byt still not perfect behavior for long press of volume buttons (inhibits these buttons on today screen/TF3D)...

Better Volume control?

Is there a possibility to adjust volume more precise. If I listen to music in the evening its always pretty loud and i would like to have more volume steps, espially at lower loudness.
Does anybody know how to do?
Thanks
Are you using the HTC Audio Player to listen music? I have the same porblem. I just regedit the value of HTC Audio Player to make it lower. But I have to face another problem, the ringtone volume is still lound! Everytime I listen music, when there is a incoming call, the ringtone is very loud compare with the music. I have ask the question before (not at here) but no one can solve it....
I have the same problem
when I press volume key down, it will down 3 level, why it can't just adjust 1 level
when I press 1 time
You can use your fingers/stylus to adjust volume by one bar only. Also don't forget the top arrow to tab between ringer and application volume slider.
how about trying out AD2P?
using a bluetooth headset will sounds much better than the wired one...
and volume control can be done on the headset itself.
Same problem here.
The question is not to use AD2P, or to do it with your fingers.
We would like to do it using the volum up/down buttons, but they increase/decrease volume by 20% every time, wich does not allow a precise config.
I have exactly the same requests:
- control with hardware buttons by 1 bar
- decrease audio volume: it's too loud to listen music!

How do you do that?
I have the same problem. The System Volume can only be set in 20% steps. For listening to music that is just not exact enough.
Does anyone know if there is a Registry-key what defines this behavior?
Still no solution for this?
Did anyone find a solution for that?

HKLM\Software\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\Config\
Set music_player_volumn = 80
Example 80% of volume
soft reset and N'joy.

what exactly does this do?
This sets the volume to 80%?
What we want is that the hardware buttons change the volume more precise...
not a predefined volume...

Oops! sorry to get it wrong.
Yes this set's the maximum vol to 80%. It's for the music player of TouchFlow 3D
I.e. when the phone speaker volume is 100% then the music player's volume is 80%
There must be someone who can figure this out
I have this problem too
Still no solution for this?
Me too, I'd love to be able to change the volume more precisely. Anyone know how to do it?
i also have this problem.
me too, it's very annoying when I think I should be able to adjust the adjust precisely with the volume buttons while my Diamond in my pocket...
Anyone?
Me too !! I have exactly the same problem ...

[Q] After HC Upgrade Skype is too lound, help?

I use skype daily for business. I can't live without. Ever since the recent Honey Comb update from Dell my volume is full blast while in skype talking to someone using the OEM headset/mic. If I use the regular mic and speaker volume controls go normal.
It is just skype voice communication that this happens. While skype is open I can do other things on my tablet and volume is adjusted to how I set it for device.
Has anyone else experienced this since upgrading? Any solutions?
Thanks
Last time I used it with video, I did not noticed this. Are you using video call or voice call? I will test it tonight and let you know.
Just voice thanks for checking.
ok I tested and confirmed your problem. I cannot change the volume also. It must be a bug. But there's a simple solution. Use a headset with a volume control. I have tested it and a headset with a volume control will allow you to turn down the volume. One drawback is that the preset volume is the Max volume, you cannot increase the volume beyond the preset volume without power amplification. However, the preset volume is more than loud enough, too loud for my hearing.
I hope this helped you and others who may have run into this problem.
Thanks again for confirming. I was at the conclusion of the volume controlled headset as well. Hope they fix it soon. I really like my portable skype phone.

[Q] Make remote buttons volume instead of next/previous?

Hi. I just got Xiaomi Piston v2's and they have Android compatible buttons. Only problem is the two buttons I expect to operate volume instead are doing next/previous track which the middle button does anyhow when you double or triple press. Is there any mod that allows them to be volume buttons instead? Apparently on a Galaxy S4 the volume buttons operate the volume? Is this an HTC issue?

No sound control popup or actual volume change when using volume buttons

I'm running COS 6.1 A.10 on my unrooted/unlocked European X2 Pro.
When I press the physical volume buttons, I very often don't see the sound control popup. Sometimes it appears and I can change the volume, but in most cases it doesn't appear at all. It doesn't make a difference which app I'm using - YouTube, Prime Video. I don't have an active BT device linked or a headset plugged in either. Quiet Time is turned off, all volumes in Sound & Vibration are turned to medium, the default function for volume buttons is set to Media Volume although nothing changes if it's set to Media Volume.
I used to have MacroDroid to change sound settings based on time/location/events but that's uninstalled. I still have Do Not Disturb which mutes my phone during calendar events. Regardless of any such apps, I should still be able to use the volume buttons to adjust the volume but there are no popups most of the time.
I just restarted my phone and the volume popup is back. I know this happened before but after a while it's gone again without knowing why. Does anyone have an idea what could be the reason and how I can get my volume popup back permanently? Thanks for your help.
