Hi From New Member - HTC Sensation XL

Hi everyone,
my name is Idan and i am i new member here.
currently own an iPhone 4 but will replace it at Sunday with XL.
i was trying to read the different posts and threads here but a bit confuse about it.
i am living in Israel but the phone (the HTC XL) doesn't have an Hebrew interface (just Hebrew keyboard).
currently the phone runs 2.3.5 and without ROM (??) according to the seller.
can i install an Hebrew interface somehow?
should i install ics manually (from where?) or i will received a message to update to my phone? (i am not sure what is the origin country of the phone).
sorry if I repeated some questions that were asked before
Thanks for the assistance!

I know the bindroid rom supports arabic so maybe it supports hebrew too to install it though, you would have to unlock bootloader and flash CWM.

Welcome!
There should be some way to patch the whole system, and change the whole language, is that the sort of thing that your looking for?

Hi,
I am looking for an option to choose an Hebrew interface along with the English one. Will the ICS have an Hebrew interface install on it ? (just for example as the iOS system, it dosent matter where you bought the device, you always can choose an Hebrew interface).

That's odd I've just looked at mine and Hebrew is not avaliable.
My next guess would be seeing what way other developers have implemented Hebrew,
After googleing it looks like you need root and then there is a Hebrew pack that you can flash to get it working all over the phone

Help needed! Froyo Rom experiences with foreign font support.

Dear Nexus One user,
I have post my original post in HTC Desire Forum.
Here is my original post:
Dear all Guru here,
I have the HTC Desire and I am living in Germany. I would like to read and write Thai with my Desire but I do not want to root.
My question are
1. Will the Android 2.2 support the Thai font?. If yes, I do not need to root it right?
2. If there is any Thai Rom available, can I just flash it? I cannot find it though.
The main thing is I do not want to root it. Thank you for any help in advance

I was suggested to post the 1st question here as some of you may have a chance to use the Froyo already.
Is there any Thai font support in the new OS 2.2??
Thank you for anyhelp.
Yes. 2.2 has DoroidSansThai.ttf
in system/fonts.
Thank you Your are an angel

Arabic language on N1?

Is there a way to read Arabic on N1?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Yes, if you install a custom ROM with Arabic support.
CM7 RC2 has it. Not sure about RC1 though.
Sure it has. Even CM6 had it.
Cool, I have already rooted my device last week to install GB, I will install CM7 RC2 now. Thanks guys

Sorry guys, I’m new in android and the whole ROMs thing. Is CM7 CR2 stable? I’ve been reading about but couldn't make a conclusion yet.
Any advices?
Hard to tell, confusing data.
Some people report it stable, some don't. Personally, I didn't find it stable, and I hated the "wonk" - and Dewonkificator didn't help.
If you want a stable ROM - I suggest keeping as close to stock as possible for now. For example, Geo's ROM (which is a very light modification of stock):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714184
The log says it has Arabic support. I can't really check, since I don't understand Arabic - but from checking Hebrew I can see the following: the RTL strings aren't aligned to right, but the numbers in RTL strings are in correct direction - so I believe that it works.
Thanks alot Jack, you've been very helpful.
I think i will stick to the stock GB for now, and continue with researching and reading.
i will use my laptop when it comes to Arabic for the time being.
Again, thank you.
Have a good day.
Cheers.

Dear mhouta
Sorry for the late replay
the best way to read and write Arabic (on web) perfectly in reading and writing is to use firefox app as a browser, the Arabic is perfect but the browser it self is not the best...

Doesnt make any sense. How did you got 2.3.2 leak (never through kies)if its not rooted? (or wasnt before)...
How do you expect install some other version of swype if you cant erase the system app , for that you need root rights?
Installing languages to an existing swype works on some custom roms . Not sure on stock. You are custom or stock? And did you check out the 2.3.2 thread?
As I said I bought my phone yesterday and I use stock rom. I checked the settings where i found that the the firmware edition is 2.3.2. the problem is that swype does not contain any language by default and i can not add any . i need Greek and English.
thanks

You wanna tell me you bought the phone in a normal shop (not second hand, or ebay etc) . And you have on it the stock 2.3.2 ? And swype languages are missing?
Well if this is the case then please take it back as they screwed you big time and ask for your money back or a working phone. This should be covered by your warranty.
Try to to do a factory reset before though.
But I still believe (kinda know, check the 2.3.2 thread) you got yourself a phone that was already rooted and the leak flashed. If thats the case and I am 99 percent sure.
Root it and put the 2.3.3 on it. You will have english. And no idea what other languages are there.
Or get the rom that was originaly for your phone meant.
Here the link to the BETA LEAK that you have installed there is also some links to the SWYPE FIX http://goo.gl/Zo0Pt
EDIT: Swype wont be your only problem though. Put on it the newest ROM (includes, root, odin etc). OR warranty repair (you walking back, yelling at the sellers and asking them for your money back). Your only 2 real options

Need a stock Rom which supports European languages for my n1

First of all i want to thank everyone who shares their knowledge with others.
I tried to read a lot of topics to understand basics of android. i think i am going pretty good but i need you guys help at this point. i couldn't find an answer or i didn't know how to search.
I have a n1 with froyo 2.2. i purchased it in eBay and it shipped to me from USA I recently used this passimg.zip
''passion_Google_WWE_2.16.1700.1_FRG33_MFG_Shipment_ROM.zip''
from shipped roms c o m. thanks to the member ''Rusty!'' he provided the link
This stock rom worked for me, I can receive updates and everything but the rom doesnt have Turkish LANGUAGE option. I think i need a stock rom which supports european languages.
anyone can give me an idea how i can reach the stock rom which has turkish language in it?
ps: i am planning to install this new rom to my phone with micro sd card. please advise me if it is impossible.
Problem is you can't get a stock ROM with the European language the only one that has one is the vodaphone ROM and there is not passimg for that ROM so you will need to root to install a custom ROM with the language you are looking for. Cyanogen has most languages so if I had to make a recommendation that would be it.

[Q] Need help in changing chinese rom to english

I recently bought a htc hd7 in china though it is stuck in chinese =="
i have tried goldcard method of trying to get an english rom onto the phone but comes with an error of "not allow"
can someone please suggest what else i should do to try and make the language go back to english.
thanks in advance
not to bust your bubble, i bought mine in China, in Guangzhou, its the real one, and you can't get Chinese language for it... so maybe you bought a fake one? or maybe the HTC Chinese one that has a SD slot? the real one doesn't... the only thing to do is try the Schubert method, or u have to go down to version 2004. hope that gives u info..u can search here for these methods.
no its real, i think the chinese have somehow hacked the rom and changed the core apps into chinese (e.g settings, sms, email, people etc.) it syncs with zune and i even got it updated to the 7008 update, but it unfortunately doesnt go any further. but i just need english language on my phone

yeah still chinese. I think the rom has been modified to show chinese because in the "region and language" settings, it says the language is in english but its chinese, and there are no other languages to choose from too
i sovled it xD
