[Q] Download/Recovery mode not working !! Help !! :(

My phone is not going in either of the download / recovery mode. I tried many times. Both 'Vol up + home + power' and 'Vol down + home + power'. But the phone runs in infinite boot loop until i release the power button, after which it starts normally.
May be i should try this . But as per what i found in google search is that the 3 button issue was only in 2.1(Eclair). And mine is already on 2.2 (Froyo) which i updated officially through kies. So has it been disabled intentionally or the bootloader is buggy version which i need to update using this guide ??

try to hold the power button for 4 seconds exactly. Release it just when the logo screen disappears. Sometimes if I hold it too long, it doesn;t work.
Also, if your phone is working, try an app like QuickBoot that will take you into those modes automatically.

For some people have problems getting in to download mode, try volume down home and power it worked for me.

Download mode is Volume down not up .

I tried both - Up & Dn. None of them is working.

I tried it, its not working. I release the power button exactly when the boot logo disappears. Then the phone boots again (boot logo is displayed again) and phone starts normally.
Also app like QuickBoot is not much helpful as i'm thinking of flashing through ODIN and i need both the modes working before starting the flash procedure !!

Sorry for hi-jacking ur thread,
I'm trying MIUI RC3c.
After flashing CM7 kernel, I was not be able to get into recovery mode to continue.
I held VOL UP + HOME + POWER & released when logo appear but screen came black. Only BACK and MENU buttons lit up.
Hope someone can help

Yeah i have tried factory reset. And i dont want to use the USB jig just now. USB jig is for emergency i suppose and u can only go into download mode and not recovery mode. I want download mode and recovery mode running normally. My question is that, i it possible that these two modes are disabled as mine is 3 UK branded phone ?? Should I try this ??

If your home button is working ,Turn off your device completely. try to enter download mode by pressing and holding Volume down + Home + Power for 10 Secs. and press volume up for download mode confirm.
If your Home button is not working at ll
Turn off device. Remove battery. Press volume up button and put battery in and keep holding the volume up button . then connect PC Data cable to Device and PC. By doing this your Device should get into Download mode.
If above method doesnt work , Get USB JIG and turn off device. Just insert USB JIG to USB mini port. don't press any button. device ll enter Download mode automatically.

Turn your phone off. If you want to enter recovery mode, hold the home button plus volume up plus power button. Keep them pressed until the screen comes on. Wait for two more seconds and then let go. To enter download mode press the home button plus volume down plus power button. You should see an android with a warning sign appear on the screen.
There's no way to exit download mode, but if you are not flashing anything, it's safe to turn the phone off by pulling the battery despite what it says on the screen.

its already off i tried the key combo of recovery and downloading mode but there seems to be nothing happening after i formatted my fone through recovery mode

need help debricking my ACE

i have a bricked galaxy ace! i know for sure its hard bricked!
but i read alot on this forum and i was able to get it detected by odin, here's how:
i took out the battery and out it back in!
i plugged the phone in to my pc
and tried to enter factory download mode (Vol up + home + power(
now here is the problem:
the screen is always black
but once i did the button combo odin detected my phonw, BUT i am stuck at setup connection! and can't flash back to stock firmware:crying::crying:
does anyone had this problem before and knows how to solve it?

You usually get the "setup connection" error when you are in the Emergency Download Mode instead of Download Mode. You go to Emergency Download Mode by holding down Volume Up + Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button in which it loads a screen that says "Emergency Download Mode" and you go to Download mode by holding down Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button in which it does load the correct download screen with the yellowish message that say "Downloading…". Please make sure you are going to the Download Mode. 'm sorry to say that you have hard-bricked your phone. If your phone is still under warranty, then you can approach a Samsung Service Centre. I have already suggested few solution to a similar problem, but none of them worked. Not even USB Jig. You can refer those solutions here. Maybe it will work for you.

so here's the deal:
i know that the mode i entered is called emergency download mode!
but i can't enter any other mode beacause my phone is kinda Hard bricked you know!
but my problem is that even in the emergency DL mode the screen is BLACK but Odin is able to detect it but i get stuck at "Setup Connection"

Sorry buddy, there is nothing else you can do except to go to a Service Center. You can give USB Jig a try though but I'm not sure it will work

Isnt it vol down + home + power for download mode?.. vol up gives me a completely different screen..

S3Mini problem

Hy i have an S3Mini and my power button is broken and righ now have an wrong rom in my phone and at the optimizing apps my phone always reboot and i cant go to download mode because my power button dead.
Other solutions to go to download mode?

Vol Down + Home (keep pressing both) then connect USB from computer, you should get at Download Mode.
