2.3.6 is the Android version not the kernel version two separate things. I am looking for the v20p kernel source to see what lg changed so I can get a working cyanogenmod build with the baseband. You'll never get the 2.3.6 source lg does not have to release that.

Apparently LG found the issue and will be releasing a fix for ghost calls in April.

sweet, but like I said in the previous post the kernel is separate from the android version. The kernel is 2.6.35 which has nothing to do with the android version of 2.3.6.
here the link its up if you guys wanna grab it its for v20p

Two hours ago I have flashed it, is running, the surprise for me was, that I bricked my phone with apk from third party, so I tried to unbrick it with LG updater orriginaly from LG sites, and I get this new version, and all settings are back, so I am very happy.

Hi guys.
LG released su660 GB (V20D) open source.
I wish this help someone.
http://www.lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensource-detail.jsp
Click support-open source and select category "mobile phones"
and input model name su660. Then you can get it.
The su660 biggest fault is not supporting EDGE.
Hi,
I am currently updating my dad's LG Optimus
information about it,
Model Number: LG-P999DW
Android Version 2.2.2
Kernel Versions 2.6.32.9
Build Number FRG83G
Software Version LG-P999-AWC-V11H
I am just asking you who have the same phone as me, what is your favorite firmware? or which one is the best out there? in your opinion, the best.
Please and thank you =)
Hi!
You have a G2X, my friend. LG P999 is a G2X, P990 is a O2X. The roms and kernels over here might not work, so I think it's better to ask this question in the G2X thread
Oh thanks man, =)
To all users who wish to use the at&t baseband with other lg gingerbread roms, you must use the stock at&t kernel with whatever rom you choose. AT&T changed something with the baseband that requires the at&t kernel to be used to fire up the radio. So until at&t/lg post the kernel source you cannot use custom kernels. Also you must still use the froyo baseband and p925 build for cyanogenmod because of this as well.
Any input from other users experiences would be appreciated as well.
Oh,thanks,I just wanted to flash 21D kernel to my thrill)
I need your help please keep contacting lg to release the kernel source.

SORRY MOVED THIS TO Q&A WORKING ON DELETING THIS!
Hello xda developers,
Phone Details:
Model: LG-P970g
Kernel version: 2.6.32
Software version: LG-P970g-V10a
Yes I'm a n00b but I'm not completely helpless...
The Video (I can't post links yet:crying:

After watching the beginning of this he makes it seem like you must update to android 2.3.4 first. Which is the reason I ask this question in the first place, because LG Electronics no longer supports the update to android 2.3.4 with the LGMobile Support Tool for the P970. I called tech support last week and it's definitely not supported...:crying:
However since we are flashing the phone with the patched version of V20I_00.kdz as a .bin and .fls file doesn't that mean we are flashing the entire ROM to the phone and not just patching the current version of the ROM installed? Thus updating the phones firmware in the process anyway?
I know there are others out there with this question and nothing in the forum has identified this for me I've been looking for the answer for a solid week now, I wish to address this question before proceeding to prevent bricking my phone because I do need it.
Hope to chat soon!
-Lilly C.
You're wrong , if you want to update your phone via bcc tool , it will update your phone to 2.3.4 and from there to 4.0.4 .
