Thanks for the code. Bought a new one from B & N for my son, and had a blast putting CM7 and OC to 1325 Mhz. Very usable and fun device.... I want one for myself!
Was thinking maybe I'd wait for a cool Honeycomb tablet ... after price drops. But after looking at some reviews and PRICE$, why wait? For someone who moves around, 10" is too big.

Nook or Tab?
Not sure if that tab requires some kind of activation or not? Read some reviews/videos lastnight comp Tab vs. Nook and the tab usually wins on most based on "out of box" exp. Don't think they had the latest tweeks on the nooks though. And most where comparing the Tab wi-fi only which is actually downgraded frim 3G one in a few ways.
Can live fine w/ GPS tether, no camera. Get by without actual buttons ok. Better dev here and build quality, and I'm getting used to the dpi and actually like it.

AT&T is selling a refurbished galaxy tab for $250, no contract. The only requirement is you have to buy a month of service, which can easily be canceled and refunded with a polite call to AT&T customer service.
My conclusion: DON'T BUY THE WIFI VERSION. Just don't. It is a scaled down version of the cellular version. So for the same price as the wifi one, why not? Also, both the nook and galaxy tab have great hacking communities so ROMs are plentiful in both cases, it just depends on whether the spec bump is worth it.

Yeah...def no wifi only from what I've read. My NC is sitting in a box on my fron poorch!
I made a thread "so would you trade for a Galaxy Tab"... and got a bunch of responses. Still a tough call... and now $65 diff? I think I can live with my Nook...

I got the nook, and so far am very happy with it. Does everything I have needed it to, with speed. Threw on the b&n hard shell case and a screen protector and it feels solid and protected now.

Thanks to the OP for this thread. I received the NC on Wednesday and had it up and running with CM7 stable the same night. I've added dozens of programs from both Android Market and Apps for Android Amazon.
I purchased many that I liked in the demo version.

I received mine last week and registered it at Barnes and Noble. Then I received an email saying that I could buy the extended warranty, which covers breakage.
I stopped by BN last night and was told that you have two weeks from date of purchase to pick up the two year warranty. For $55 it sounds like a good deal to me!!!

Just curious if anyone with a refurbished nook has noticed any screen defects like dust under the screen or stuck pixels. I know I went through 4 nooks with screen defects before I got one without any problems. I know others have had similar issues. Wondering if a lot of these refurbished nooks are these returned ones.

Returned a new one with a row of greenish pixels. My refurb is fine.... like new.

Mine was like new, which is what I expect of retailed pre-owns. If I didn't mind something with a few scratches or dents, I'd buy eBay used.

HP touchpad

Hey to all that are interested HP touchpad is now $99 for 16gb and 150 for 32gb. I know HP has discontinued them but still a good price. I have called staples and walmart and they have some left in my area.

Hopefully they'll get Honeycomb on it.

it would have been ipad killer if they priced it at $99 so sad....bargain if you can get honeymoon to work on it but thing breaks or battery dies. U r screwed...

Anybody think it may be a marketing ploy to flood the market with them? Just a thought. Called every where in the tampa bay area. Sold out gone.

I picked on up at Best Buy on Saturday (the day they re-released them for sale). 16GB for $105 with taxes. It's a great device. Even with webos on it (which means balls in Spanish BTW). Got it for the wife, but wish I had gotten two.
Also, there was a system update on it this morning. They must be pushing out the last of their support for it.

One thing I didn't see was the headset mentioned... Is that in the Tab box itself? (Left my boxes at work.)
Only thing I'm not a huge fan of is it feels a bit sluggish compared to my Galaxy Note. Hoping the upcoming ICS update will help. Otherwise, I'm very impressed. The screen is nice, 8.9 might be the perfect size for me, the accessories are great and I freakin LOVE THAT IT DOCKS HORIZONTALLY. I wish everyone provided that option.

Yea free shipping! I ordered it in the morning though. Really happy with the deal. All the accessories are brand new. Keyboard dock and leather case are the best ones. I don't see my self using the SD card reader or regular dock.

When I got mine, it was slow out of box on honeycomb 3.1. I upgraded to 3.2 and noticed a speed gain by a good margin. Try upgrading if you havent .

Still really happy with the 8.9. Great little device. The sleeve for the tablet is very nice and the keyboard dock is awesome!

Yes, but that's an issue with all bluetooth keyboards and 4.2. Had nothing to do with zagg

I picked one up at Target, and while it performed well it just felt exceedingly cheap to me. The plastic case didn't have any structure to it and warped easily unless I was using it on a desk. Typing with they keyboard balanced on the arm of the sofa (for example) just didn't work for me. It has since been returned and I'm looking into other keyboard options.

Is anyone trying to order from overseas and having problems? Sometimes the site shows a shipping quote, sometimes it wont, it doesnt except my credit card and when i use paypal, it doesnt add any shipping costs.
All in all it would be a great deal, even with the $30 shipping costs, it's still almost half the price of what i pay in europe.

I've tried twice to buying one (shipping to Spain) but, despite in their FAQ they say they can, their website wasn't allowing me t get one. I had no quote for shipping.

I have not noticed any problems with the KB while using wifi&bt. Currently running 4.2 stock rom.

so i just got this thing in the mail today from china. i was very skepticle about buying a knockoff but for the price i figured what the hell. anyways i cant tell tell difference between the one i got in the mail and the original. it even says samsung on it so i wouldnt be surprised if its actually OEM. it works perfect, the button works, and when i pull it out of my note 2 page buddy comes up. great deal for 6 bucks. i wanted a backup because i am so paranoid i will lose it and now i will order a couple more and throw them in the drawer with the original. highly recommend this s-pen.

I've got one from eforchina for $8 and I've send it back. It only acted as an eraser, I could not get it to write. It was also very slightly different from the original (a tiny bit longer, different button design, different colour). The quality was horrible and it was completly unusable. This was the first time I've actually returned something to China. I just did not want it lying around gathering dust.

I was gonna say just buy one from sammy but jeez they want $40 for the damn thing!

Warranty.
The guy didn't say if he lost it or broke it. I stated clearly WARRANTY. I figured people will understand exactly what warranty means and entails.

I just ordered one from the Samsung website yesterday. $29.99 with 50% coupon made it only $14.99. So I decided to throw in the universal car mount too!
That was $24.99 after the coupon so my total was about $45 with shipping.
