Hello you all!
This night I left my OB with 67% and went to bed. It was 2 o'clock...
Now when I woke up, 8 o'clock, it had only 33%... Something drained 30% of my battery! I used the phone yesterday and only 20% was drained.
Wifi always on. When I went to bed it was uploading my pictures to dropbox, is there any chances Dropbox drained all this? There.were 300 pictures left.
Hope you can advise me,
Thanks!
Sent from my Optimus Prime, ops, Black.
Of course it was dropbox... man 300 pictures, how long do you think it took? Your network was busy constantly... Just look at your battery graph in settings-->phone information--> battery usage and see when screen was on or when phone was active, bet it was active most of the night...
And also dont leave programs by pushing the HOME button, but always push the back button, cause otherwise the phone will remain active
Yeah Nooby, I think it was Dropbox... asked to be sure.
Next time I will avoid letting the phone upload all the photos at once!
Thank you, again!

How about letting it upload, but simply plug it to the charger, while uploading?
Dont ya think that this is a great idea?
Just joking, dont worry
Would be smarter by my part if I have done this, right?
By the way, Zeus has an awesome battery consumption, impressive!

So for the last 2 days before work, I would charge my phone completly to 100%. I work at 4am and it would be 99%....ok forward ahead 2-3 hours, ill check my phone and its at 20%. I've already check tsk manger both days but I only leave panda firewall running and alarming!
Is this defective battery? Or something else? Any ideas.

Do you have an extra battery to test with or just the one? If you have two batteries, it would be easier to diagnose whether the first battery is defective based on how fast the second battery drains. It might be worth borrowing a friends or buying one on amazon. You can get the OEM battery for relatively cheap nowadays (<$20)
Also depending on how long you have had your phone for you can call T-Mobile up and complain. I did this and got a free 2nd battery. Just tell them you have already gone through troubleshooting steps by turning off gps, bluetooth, wifi, 3g, and lowered the screen brightness. Even if you are over your allowed time I'm sure if you talk right you still might get a free battery, my friend did to.

Yeah, I did this too, but that was a while ago (November or December) when it seems that T-Mobile was handing out batteries like candy to pacify all the people that were upset with battery life. I didn't know if people were still succeeding in getting a battery for free, but that is definitely worth a try first.

lol. Yea they was just handing them out. My friend got one just the other month so its seems they are still trying to satisfy the customer.
Alright I'm probably just gonna go into tmobile cause it would be easier probably. And I've had my phone on for 10 minutes now for break, went from 17% down to less then 5% so.... this is irritating me....DAMN TMOBILE! Even if it isn't there fault I still want to blame them!

You might have to call them up. I don't think they will do it in the store, but again if you know how to talk anything can happen.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not, but when I was running Cyanogens roms above 3.6.5 I would get horrible battery readings. I'd reboot and it would says something different.
I believe its a known bug in Cupcake builds about battery readings. Cyanogen did post up a link to Android's official bug tracker but I can't remember the link by memory.
Also try calibrating your battery too and use a program like Watts to track your battery usage over time.
Also using the Open Overclocker widget is amazing, you can set the Screen Off CPU frequency, forcing the CPU to scale down when idle. I'm not 100% sure if Cyanogen's ROM does this on default or not though but I know it does do CPU scaling.
Posting here since its battery related .. ever since the upgrade to crc1 my battery charges extremely slow .. like it wont go to 100 percent in 8hrs .. but when I restart it at like 80% it will show 100, but if i leave it there long enough im sure it will keep climing slowly in percentage. Anyone else having problems like this?
Yes, it's a known bug.
Fully charge your battery then do the following.
su
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin
The battery reading will be more accurate.
Alot were right, nothing can be done in store. They pretty much shooed me away and said to call 611. Did. Told me to call HTC. Can't cause there closed lol. Anyways im going to try what Prettyboy said, but I'm turn the phone off I think to charge it fully. No extra battery though =/ They said I would have to provide a CC to get them to send an extra battery and then send the old one back.

thanks for this. but what does it exactly do??
It deletes the old battery stats file and Android creates a new one, which would be more accurately calibrated. Think of it like a battery stats reset.

Long story short; don't worry about it. They're not hurting anything, in fact killing them is wasting resources.

Why does my batery drain so fast then xD they gotte help atleast a little bit in then situtation ?
grts
I'm really not sure but some apps are triggered to start by some events internal to the phone (ex. Text message, Alarm). Those apps that auto-start are likely those types.
Killing them from an app manager will not do since they will start again. This is just my guess hearing from one of my friends who has experience with app development.
I have pretty good batt drains on most roms. And drain could be caused by a lot of stuff - signal strength, data usage, etc.
Oh okay make sense so maybe if a bought a new battery cuz this one rly goes out fast
when i bought the phone he was alrdy charged for about 50%

Yep that could work. Give it a few charge-discharge cycles. Some batteries just need some exercise
Relating to your battery problem, having 3g turned on seems to be the culprit. Try turning it off when its not needed
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA App
Juice Defender is pretty good for preserving battery life.
That in conjunction with SetCPU profiles (underclocked when screen's off, etc.) will extend your battery life by quite a bit
Sorry for my bad use of English;
I got my lg optimus 2x 1 month ago and i noticed a huge battery drain.I was thinking that it will work fine after 6-7 full cycles.I saw a thread in which a guy that after doing a factory reset(he had the same problems as i have) the battery will work normally.
I did that but it didn't work for me. Is this the solution?Did I do it right?Do i have to buy a new battery? I have rooted my phone yesterday so I was thinking is this a software issue? I have lg official 2.3.4 ROM. DO i need another ROM?
please.
Help me guys.
Thank you!!!
Do you leave data usage on during the night? Are your apps allowed to synch automatically? Try using airplane mode during the night (that's what I do... I don't normally get calls or messages during the night )

I don't leave wifi ,background data or 3g on,if i leave it charged at 100% at the time i got to bed,the next day when i get back from school, without using the phone my battery level is around 40%.
Using a live wallpaper? The factory reset only works because it stops the application/rogue setting from being there.
If you get 'Battery Monitor' you will be able to see what is draining you battery, and any 'wake-locks' or 'partial-wakelocks' that are stopping the phone from going into sleep mode.
look at the battery usage indicator and post a screenshot of it. Maybe the problem can be isolated.

Yes that's why I did a general test drive for two weeks on my phone before starting flashing and rooting and what not. Unfortunately our friend here has already flashed CM7 on it.
Unless he's able to restore stock software I'm affraid he won't be covered by warranty...
If he uses NVFlash he will be able to get it back to stock
Its easy to put back stock firmware if he knows wchich one he had, btw usually there is one backup on your sd card, check for it.

Try to flash a cm9 rom. It saves a lot of juices. For 2.3.X. The battery drians is really terrible
Hello everyone, yesterday i figured a big problem with the battery of my 3 Weeks note.
I'm so upset and its driving me crazy.
I screen captured this. Battery life became so short it hardly works for 10 hours maximum if i don't use it much. Thanks
might want to get rid of that any.do app or change the settings. .
No i don't think any do is the problem as i downloaded it about 2 Weeks ago, and the problem started just yesterday.
what settings do you think i should modify?
well maybe any do wasn't the problem 2 weeks ago.. but it is the problem now.. why ask if u aren't going to take advice?
do you have the original samsung batterie? or an cheap rebuilt one? I've made some bad experience with cheap chinese batteries...
Do you have the stock kernel? In some old versions of Abyss Kernel i had bad batterie lives...
Dear bambo i did take advice and deleted the app. I've formatted the device 30 minutes ago as well.
Still having the same problem.
Mr David its the phone's original battery made in Japan finished in China
I took a screen shot after the formatting. Its just getting worse.
Thanks for helping guys
tap on the graph to expand it and post that.
Try badass battery monitor pro and see what may be keeping the phone awake, or waking it up often.
what graph?
I've had loads of batt drain problems, and found the batt stats app to be really misleading.
In nearly all cases a random app 'appeared' to be the culprit but further investigation yielded it as being some other app filling the system log (logcat). Try looking at something you installed more recently. Uninstall them one by one and check foe when the batt drain stops. That'll be your culprit I reckon.
The more complicated approach is to install something like catlog from Google Play and read through the system log and try to work it out that way. I used his approach to discover WidgetLocker was capping my juice even though AVG was being reported as the battery hog!

Go to market and install Better Battery Stats. It will give you all the wakelocks and the culprit apps and kernel that might be eating your battery and not allowing the device to go into deep sleep and conserve battery !
Thanks for helping guys, I formatted the phone yesterday.
I‘am afraid the battery has a hardware problem. I'll have to contact the store I think, thanks to ALLAH I have 1 year full warranty. But I've got 2 questions for you guys:
1- I charge the phone while sleeping, so it stays plugged about 4 hours after its fully charged. Does that shorten the battery ‘a life?
2- Does the Android get viruses? Cuz if its not a battery problem, it might be a virus though.

-1- No, dont worry about your batt if u plugged more.

Hi guys,
I have a strange issue with my Z1 (still on 1.534...). In just 1 hour and 30 minutes the battery goes from 100% to 85% with a very minimal use of the device. My phone is really "clean" (I mean a few and good apps). Then it goes very slowly and I can cover the whole day, but it's really annoying to see this kind of thing. I've done two recalibration of the battery but nothing changes. What can I do? Do you know if it's a known issue with my old firmware version? If yes, they fixed it with the latest release?
Thanks a lot and happy Christmas holidays!

perhaps your phone is still new? my phone did the same in the first two weeks, down to around 80% really fast, and then lasted between 80-65 the rest of the day.
now after a while it's changed, i get almost a full hour of screen time before it reaches 90%.
Yes, it has 20 days. I hope it's due to this fact. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Any others?
I got Android 4.3 FTF .290 and my battery is just fine. I will recommend to update.
I hope it arrives fast on my device!
Have mine now for 3 months: in Stamina-mode when not used at all I find it sometimes with 98% after 8 hours since unplugging ..........
