well that is not a bug on stock rom. Lg changed it on gb so that the leds stay on for approx 5 secs so as to save battery. It is the same with o3d (since day one for o3d on froyo actually) and many other lg phones. The fact that some people don't like it doesn' make it a bug. Think that if it were the other way around (i.e the leds turned off after 5secs on froyo and then made to last till screen goes out on gb) there would be a lot of people complaining that there is a bug that won't turn off their leds consuming the battery because they would have got used the other way around since they got their phones.
okay i asked huexxx , i'm waiting for an answer...

You can install dg's Cognition or perception.
I'm a personal fan of axura, but the thread was closed, hopefully he comes back for another variation of this amazing Rom!!

axura was a great rom and the first I flashed but the battery consumption was attrocious. It was an awesome performer, the best out of what I tried
But at this time I have no car charger, the power is still only trickling
I dont have my screen in torch mode.
Its a big problem because you can actuall see the power go down, I was losing 1 percent about every 2-3 minutes, no lie! I was watching it all as it happened
It performed great and its a great rom just not for me, because right now I dont own a car charger not that i dont have the money to get it...I just havent
Hi!
Just brought an O2x 2 days ago, my last phone was a Moto Defy and i noticed a few things around here.Theres no 'perfect' rom available i looked around in dev section and reading the feedbacks i just cant decide which rom to use cm7 seems buggy...and the rest of the roms is lacking serious features like CIFS, USB Host mode etc. Im statisfied with the stock v10c but the power button is messing with me and im missing CIFS modules i couldnt find it.So if anyone have a suggestion which rom/kernel/baseband to use feel free to comment i would appreciate it!
Hi there.. i think "trial n error" method is the best.. seems that not everyone is satisfied with the "total package" had with them.. like mine, modding my stock rom is enough.. using custom kernel, change to % batt mod, and so on.. so far a bit satisfied.. else waiting upgrade to GB is totally slow.. My point is, nothing's perfect..

you can find the update stock firmware here
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041
and i think on LG o2x there is no cifs.ko and tun.ko modules.if you want that module i think you can flash other rom like cyanogen or modaco
CM7 is perfectly fine for most people nowadays. Try it sometime, I'm sure you'll like it! Only thing that isnt working is the FM Radio.

My phone is never up for longer than 2 or 3 days as i'm always fiddling and rebooting. Led me to wonder how long peoples phones had been running without a reboot.
Please state ROM and kernels!
Sent using geek power
I'm also always flashing different roms. However I still find that I need to reboot every couple of days because the phone slows down. it becomes impossible to multitask, if I exit the browser to read a text and return, the browser well have reset.

I'm sure there must will be someone with impressive uptime. Can't wait to see what it is, days? Weeks? Months even?
Sent using geek power
I'm basically up until every Friday: I'm on MIUI
I used to be flashing a new ROM every three or so days until AOSP roms became stable. I moved between Cyanogen to MIUI, quickly settled on MIUI and I've been hooked for like a month
Running 1.9.2 from MIUI.us and zach's platypus kernel @stock clocks w/ uV. I'm in love!
Im terrible, whenever a new rom comes out, Im flashing it!!! but gone back to the rom in my signature again and again
what rom and kernel are you using ???
listen to my advice and switch to miui rom , i have tried every single rom you could ever imagine and every single kernel , they all f*cking lag and they look outdated
Miui 1.8.26 is the most stable version , don't get the 1.9 yet , you can get it here www.miui.us
also flash a Glitch kernel ( low leakage best for galaxy S ) and enjoy the voodoo sound you can get
hit thanks if i ever helped
what's so special about miui?
Ah man, no replies regarding uptime, come on folks, how long has your phone been up since the last reboot ?
Sent using geek power
If I don't forget to charge it... about 1 week and then it gets laggy --> reboot
I haven't had a single reboot or bsod until i installed go launcher and dolphin hd. Is it possible that some aplications cause reboots or bsod?
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
Nope, happened to people on stock as well with no extras. Some BSODs have come straight away, some later on.
There have been some great people both on here, on modaco and CM7 that have done software tweaks / new roms etc so I would think that a software bug would have been picked up by now.
Just get it replaced asap if you have one!
it worked perfectly till now and i am scared if i get a new one it will be only worse. it only hapened only once maybe it wont hapen again.1 more question if i install custom rom will it go away?
No one knows dude. If you're worried get it replaced asap.
I'm currently running ICS 4.0.4 on nAa-ics-03. I've tried a couple of ROMs, currently got IscreamDX. but I'm really frustrated with it.
Getting loads of lags. Apps randomly shutting down. Slow response times. It will randomly just freeze for several minutes with a black screen - no led response, nothing sometimes i'll do this when I'm running an app (camera, a game, facebook anything really) sometimes it will be in this state when I get it out of my pocket. Then it'll just start working again.
I've seen that nAa ics-04 is out. Will that make a difference or is there a ROM that is stable?
Or should I just admit that the X8 just doesn't have the hardware to run ICS and go back to an older version of android?
there is no absolute opinion.
try it yourself!
try ics-04 kernel and see if there is difeerence, and if this difference is enough for you
try some gingerbread roms and decide what suits you better!
its up to you
 Dude we don't post such questions in XDA
But anyways it's your and your decision only to decide.
How can we tell that on which rom or version you should be ?
You can stay on ICS if you like the UI
If you want performance you can go back to GB

Why I thought I'd get a sensible answer here I don't know.
I can ask this question because 1)someone might have already tried nAa ics 04 and seen it still uscks or it is much better
2)someone might have found a ROM that doesn't freeze all the time
3)saying I can't ask a question is a fascist answer

But what you are asking about is subjective opinions from us. Everyone has different feeling and not all have problems as u said.
Its totally your choice which rom you will have. You cant ask us questions like these...
Features & Beauty- ICS
Performance & Battery life- GB

I didn't said that you can't ask questions !
See if you want a GB rom with good performance you can try the following
GingerZaraki with alfs8 GingerZaraki= Lightweight
Gingerdx with alfs8 Gingerdx=Full of features
Use MiniCM9 if you want ICS..
Actually I forgot how GB feels because I'm using MiniCM9 with naa ics4 for the past 1 and a half months. With minimum apps installed. (Only BMX boy, DoodleJump)
Don't use facebook or maps. They are great ram eaters !
yeah!
if you don't want some laggy just go back on GB!
try and choose some GB ROM in XDA
respect our DEV dude!
remember if our phone (X8) has a low memory..
so ICS ROM like MiniCM9 has a great job to make an ICS ROM for our poor phone!
try and keep trying dude!
This thread is like :
Should i buy Cola or Pepsi ?
But no one cares what juice i buy...
I mean,personally i adore ics,but videos are slow,youtube doesnt work,cant watch videos over skyfire.
Gb has less bugs, but i think will go for ics.
It depends on whether you are willing to sacrifice performance of GB over beautiful look of ICS. I reverted because I couldn't bear the decrease in responsiveness and speed and I use over 60 apps and that's unthinkable on ICS for X8. As a matter of fact, ICS is really a brilliant display of what great developers can achieve and not a daily-use system for our weak X8. The new Xperia Tipo is quite similar to X8 in price and has better HW and stock ICS

gingerbread have a long time battery
ICS design beautiful :fingers-crossed:
i had the same problem...i didn't know what to choose but after some time i made my mind!!I think the best solution is to go back to GB and try to customize your phone with icons, themes, launchers etc!!!!that way you will not be bored with with the GB look and you will have a good-performance phone...To get fresh ideas for customization in here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1414004
