Basically I appeal to the app developers who want an idea for a "new" app to build a camera app with a slider that control the focus (not tap to focus) for some advanced photography, as advanced as it can get with a phone camera, and beside that it can include additional "advanced" settings on the UI of the camera like ISO, white balance and some more that i cant remember but the most important is the manual focus. I know that other phones that didnt have this option in the stock camera app did get an app with this feature so probably this can be done, i hope its not to demanding and some nice dev can build this app for us.
Thanks.
Someone already did build one. Its called miui camera apk..
Here http://lmgtfy.com/?q=miui+camera+apk

unfortunately i cant install to test it but are you sure there is a slider for the focus ?... not tap to focus and not "dont focus before every shot" but actual slider that control the focus ? because the few times I used miui roms i cant remember to find this option.
Yep positive. Currently my primary camera app. Cause cm7's camera is a little lacking.

can you show me where is the option?(screenshot or by words) I cant find this option anywhere

Right side slide bar is zoom function. Plus miui phone apk has tons of additional option in menu. Only downfall is no built in video record function.
Edit; looks like it does have video record. Must have missed that menu fiction before.

oh... well its not the focus slider Im talking about, zoom=/=focus
So my request is still valid, I and tons of other users will be thankful to the dev that can build this app
dj, thanks for trying to help
No problem. Sorry Thought that was what you were looking for. If you find one post it I'm allways down for better apks.

Manual Focus Camera App Highly Needed
I fully agree with u that a Manual Focus Camera app for HTC Desire Hd would be a great feature addition for DHD users and would spark creativity in a new way, if some developer makes such app then it would be great

I have got the HTC One from the end of May. But I still have some questions on my phone's "UltraPixels" Camera.
I wonder whether this technology is a software adjustment or a hardware settings?
4 MegaPixels should be all right for daily usage, but I always like to pinch to zoom my photos while browsing.
HTC One failed to reveal some details in the picture comparing to Samsung GS4 or Sony Xperia Z. I want to ask if it is possible to abandon the UltraPixels technology to boost the camera resolution to 8MP or even 13MP? Any app can do it?
Attaching my photo taken using ultraPixel HTC One at Hong Kong IFC Centre!

I believe it's hardcoded into the sensor that it only uses 4 mp for the image, while the rest of the pixels on the sensor used solely for exposure and gathering light

The phone only has 4 megapixels
They are larger than your regular phone megapixels, there isn't separate sensors for gathering light since that's how all camera work in the first place.
So to the OP, no.. Do some research on how these things work. Really.

You need to learn how to take pictures with the One because the pictures you have posted are terrible quality and the first is washed out. You're always best to focus on the sky and underexpose the rest of the shot and then edit in Photoshop or something because the quality of pictures I've taken are way, way, way better than them lol
Has anyone pulled the .apk and gotten it to work? I just want manual shutter. Picked up the S6a just for battery, almost got the N5 just for manual mode.
I could have sworn the S6 allowed for a "pro" more controlled experience. Is Manual exposure not anywhere; I recently just got my S6 back from repair so I haven't had much hands on use. I'll go ahead and check myself, but I could have sworn that it was advertised.
Also, I think this goes along more in the Help/Q&A section, but I could always be wrong
Exposure you are correct, I'm referring to shutter. You can have up to a 10 second shutter on the N5 which would be badass.
When I was posting on the Q&A, it said that only answers could be posted... I wouldn't mind a discussion also.
Is exposure different from shutter?
Yep... I might want a long shutter with a small aperture vs short shutter with a wide open aperture, the exposure could end up being very similar but very different effects.
Ah! I'm not an avid photographer frankly (I'm sure it will show). I did indeed look around, and yeah you're right no noticeable shutter control. I'll hang around the N5's section. From my memory, someone was able to port N5's functions over to the S6 over here on XDA or over at Reddit. For the apk though, we would need a rooted N5 or OTA file to extract it from likely. If they share similar API's, getting it to work shouldn't be impossible.
I supposed the timer is something entirely different from what you want. I just noticed it and saw the option to set for 10 seconds, but thought I'd ask.
These are a couple examples of what can be done with REALLY long shutter:

Fantastic looking! Looks like there was a system dump for the N5. I could look into extracting what I need from that, but haven't looked into it in detail - yet. Will get to it later when the day settles down.
Does anyone remember a photo mode where you would hold the camera in place and a person would walk through your scene and it would take 4 or 5 shots and superimpose the latter shots onto the first image creating a picture wih 4 or 5 clones of the same person.
What was that photo mode called? can I install it on the note 8?
Here is an example I found while searching for the name

Sorry.. I had a Xiaomi phone that did that.
You could do a panoramic shot and just pause and let the person relocate before you continue swiping
That mode is called Drama. I have been trying to locate it as well since the Note 3 but cant seem to locate it. The modes were better when they were preinstalled but now that we have to download those modes it gets tricky because you tend to forget which modes you had on previous devices. The only thing close I've found was a Motion app made by Sony in the Play Store. It's not native to the camera app like Drama was but it'll give you the end result you're looking for.

I do but haven't come across that feature since the Note 3.
Hello, I am looking for an app for my Moto X4's camera that is better than the one that comes from stock.
I read about Google Cam but I wanted one that could be downloaded from the Google Play Store and that came with already loaded scenes, that is: night mode, macro, landscape, movement, portrait, etc.
I have tried a payment app called "HD Camera Pro" by Best Apps but it does not convince me at all.
Do you know any app for the Moto X4 camera that is the best in the Google Play Store ?.
Thank you very much!
Recommend the one ported from Pixel.

Ok, thank you for your replies.
I'm looking for something like this camera interface:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It's in Spanish language but you can check scenes built-in in order to select them when you take a picture.
This interface capture was taken from a Galaxy K Zoom.
I want a Android Camera App that you can select one from several scenes built-in.
Any more suggestions?

I bought Camera FV-5 some years ago, but I didn't see any main differences from photos taken by Moto camera so I don't use now.
Here are two sample picture.
Hello, I read the whole thread of this forum -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x4/themes/scrubber-gcam-portrait-mode-camera-x4-t3732834
I have a Moto X4 without root.
Which is the best Google Cam apk for the X4 of Celso Azevedo's blog? Scrubber ?. Arnova?
Which one has got best performance?
I like to use the camera and take a photo in automatic mode, without making many settings.
I've noticed that these things are becoming popular,
And I thought why not make one for my Android head unit?
After doing some research in Computer Vision and hacking my car's android, I'm happy to announce that it works
You can see a live demo in my youtube channel - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzpn0ROKkX8
The solution is software only - it uses complex computer vision algorithm (optimized the hell of it for embedded devices) to draw a top view of the surroundings of the car.
It translates rear camera view:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
into top camera view (with memory of previous seen space - its a buch of mathematics that does that inside):
Hope soon to release the app

And I thought why not make one for an Androd MCU? (I have a cheap chinese one, some kind of Joying variant I guess)
Existing solutions use 4 cameras with an extra unit that stitches them together or using odometry.
I'm aiming for a software-only solution, using only Android MCU and reverse cam that we already have.
Doing some research on my PC, I've managed to achieve some progress.
You can watch the video in my youtube channel
Managed to open reverse cam with OpenCamera app and even record a video.
For that killing SofiaUIServer process on my MCU was needed coz its responsible for turning on the camera as soon as you hit reverse.
That means that I can write a pure android app that does the bird view (hopefully performance won't be an issue).
Now it's only a matter of time (and will) until I finish that little project on Android.
What do you guys think, will there be a demand for such a thing?

I am interested in this project.
I have both rear and front cameras. The front camera can be opened only with F-CAM app which does not do recording. It would be nice to have both cameras showing on screen and recording. My system is mtcd based and I am not sure if your app would work.
Update:
I have a working demo in my car which can be seen in this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlUI662VCA8

wow, very detail!
HI,
could this work on an Atoto head unit, would you mind to share the app?
Thanks

Wow, amazing work! Can't wait for the release.
Good luck!
