Online petition

Hello everyone,
I just made an online petition to obtain ICS for our device. I know someone can say we only want last release of an operating system and such. In my opinion, that's false. We want something we paid for. I gave LG my trust and they disappointed me. Please, sign the petition, if you share my thoughts, or at least give it a read.

Mainly for two reasons, mate:
- I have many friends with LG2x and they can't flash, for a million of reasons, they are afraid of bricks, afraid of not finiding confortable with custom roms, bugs, etc... and I, as CM user, think that we should all get updates, for the money we spent in the phone and the disappointing feeling. We use CM, but it's bad LG just discontinued her flagship phone.
- It's not only Italy's problem: if it were just Italy, I would have worked on other releases and made it available as custom rom, as every other person on this forum would do, but it's a common problem, and I thought we need a common solution.

no, its fine. I did sign the petition before replying to the thread. The consumer protection agency one was just a suggestion. I am in Maldives and we dont have an LG office/branch here, therefor we cannot do anything against them.

they promise it on the (netherlands-belgium) website
they say "always updated to the latest version of android with one click on the button"

For what I could understand, smaller offices, like italians just works as test units, so it would be a waste of time to keep in touch with them...
@davjan you are right, but after the Android Handset Alliance, this is just a pain to ear... ICS can run on Nexus S, it MUST run on our...

nice try, but no one will give a f*-ck about it !
as for other android phones : you get the version installed & 1 update ...
so ... froyo + GB , that´s it. then our phone is outdated.
companies want to make money & sell new phones, so that´s their policy ...
i can sign your petition if you like, but it will change nothing ...

but at least we have official CM support, so when ICS SDK is available, we will get it from this source

Even the gb leaks are based on froyo kernels. Face it we are never going to get gingerbread let alone ICS because LG simply can't do it. (I blame nvidia aswell btw but thats a whole different story)

Because Samsung will take months before releasing ICS, and the donation is for their effort.

The donation is for encouraging any developer to develop and maintain the ROM.

You need a bnc/znc btw.. lots of diff timezones.
noticed you'd popped into icsnote when I was on the way in to work .
I was going to suggest a thread on tabletroms, as I can control the comments easier, just purely for cross pollination of information..
I prefer working as openly as I can, and its quiet over there in the Note section

Actually i dont think so like months will pass for ics note. i think samsung is ready for ics note but they are delaying because samsung and google want galaxy nexus to be the first ics phone on the market.

MIUI on OP black

guys i have talked to a miui admin and he told me they dont plan to release the rom on optimus black unless we show in a topic in their forums that a lot of people want this rom. he said we should get about 5000 people and because i believe thats insane , the only solution is to port it by our selves. And because i know nothing about developing i wish one of the devs here could port it for us.
Thats the only way to get miui on our optimus black
i know there are a lot of great devs here, we can see that by the variety of gr8 roms we have so far, if you combine ur knowlegde and skills you can make this happen

Will check what I can do if i have time i'm having a ubuntu machine for making roms maybe i can help us out just a little

at least 5000 people? This is like asking for people to line up in a restaurant for food before the restaurant even there in the 1st place. F*** THIS, its not like our Optimus Black is not working.
I'll go there to show my support/input if I get to try it first.
Sorry for being rude, is just that the "MIUI on Black" has been brewing for so long and no delivery... and now their ADMIN asking for more traffic to their site to show for support? My patient is running very thin with this guys, just like when we was waiting for gingerbread from LG.

I totally agree with you, the admin actually said that I should get all these people registered at miui.com and I don't know if they wanted so many people in the past in order to make roms for optimus 2x, defy and etc

I agree I had a Defy in the past and I was really surprised by how fast it got MIUI,CM7, CM9,etc But what I noticed is that Defy's forum is way much active than that of the Optimus Black
I remember someone was trying to port CM7 on the Defy for the first time. 6-7 months later, he became a dev member for CM7 for the Defy.
Starting from this, MIUI came, then KANGed MIUI, then CM9,etc
It's like there are less devs in OB forum than Defy.
I think that the more ROMs are developed for the OB, the more popularity the OB will get among other popular rom devs.

Petition new drivers for S5830i and S5360.

Guys, i have found this petition about new drivers for our phone and Galaxy Y. And this petition need 10000 signatures of course to Broadcom make new drivers for our phone and Galaxy Y. If we have new driver, BroadcomCM ,bieltv.3 and SpaceCaker sure find a source for build another CyanogenMod like 10.x. And also continue CM9.1 build by bieltv.3 and BroadcomCM will help him. I sure our phone will be popular.
Note:The petiton are re-opened. Please to all member to signs for this BroadcomCM's petition. I know peoples say Broadcom can't build but we need look for it be careful. Hope they will release the driver.

That is a petition, not any official news from BroadCOM. And it is not fully sure that they will release the drivers/sources.

I think yes....arreb is right...this is just increasing the HITS and Websight view of that changes.org changes.com .....neither Brodcomm would see this petetion ....nor they gonna releases their drivers....just Creating hopes for us .....that we can find way and get those Drivers ....

Well good luck on that, I dont think Broadcom will release Audio source which is related to ALSA and SAMSUNG just like the camera. Broadcom is making the CPU and GPU with wifi and BT chipsets.

I have contacted samsung and they are going in negative way so we are trying to prove to them that many people wait their support find my post

Guys, i think you are just wasting your time in these petitions. Nor samsung, nor broadcom will ever support us. Let's be realistic! Those drivers you are requesting, i think will be available on broadcom's 3rd anniversary. As you've seen they shared a part of they source on their anniversary day. Maybe next year there will be more sources.
I appreciate @bieltv.3 and his team members for their incredible work done of lots of hours. I think they are doing their maximum so we better just sit there and wait for some news from them and not from broadcom as they are the only hope we have. Not broadcom or samsung. But BroadcomCM.
Try to convince yourselves that BroadcomCM is the only hope we have. Then you will get rid of these petitions once for all.
