Oh cool.. ill go have a look at it and have a go...

I use DiskUsage aswell.
If you install the IO Filemanager too, you can jump to the highlighted folder in DiskUsage. Some other filemanager are also supported.
Regards

I didn't know that.. ...I was waiting for an update with that specific feature

Market Pipe

I love it. Can get rid of unwanted publishers from your list. Just wish I knew how to get rid of more than one publisher
Add a pipe character ("Alt+S" on the G1, or "?123" + "ALT" + "|" on the default virtual keyboard. You should have something like this: "IndiaNIC|Netmite" (without the quotes).
Thanks! No more top sexy lady apps, themes or dictionary apps for me
Now if only it was a regular application and not a crappy widget.
Wow, pretty harsh...
It's a damn good widget. If you want a application for this then just use the market. Honestly, there is a difference between being a complete **** and constructive criticism.

I think their point was why have an app running all the time when you only need to have it running when you are accessing the market.

Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't it truly just running when we set it to update the widget? Or is it constantly running in the background even if it isn't accessing any data and using up precious battery life? I have alot of widgets installed and it doesn't slow my phone down or drain my battery any faster so I was under the impression it didn't always use up resources. Maybe i'm wrong

Every app or widget that is running is using up some resources how much depends on what the function of the app/widget and how well programmed it is and any limitations because of being coded in Java.
At the very least it'll be using up ram since most people don't have swap files, nor should they for various reasons.

Thanks for the clarification
This widget does not use any resources other than some of your memory just like any other app. When you have it set up as an active widget, it uses resources when it checks for new apps. This is no different than any other app that polls for updates. As soon as it finishes fetching data, it shuts itself down. The bulk of the work is done by on the server so really the widget really does very little to use the phones resources. If you have it set to update every 5 minutes and get 100 apps, you might drain your battery pretty quickly.

Yea I think it was pulled. It wasn't working yesterday, so maybe that was why. I wiped my phone and I couldn't re-download the app. Guess it's gone.

[Script] Ram Optimizer/Rom speed booster by Juwell

Original thread Here
All credit goes to Juwell for the script.
MORE SMOOTHNESS, MORE SPEED, LESS LAGS AND ENOUGH FREE MEMORY
Hi guys,
after long time of testing I found the best balance for RAM, this script will make your RAM in the best optimization, the best optimization means the best balance between free memory, multitask, speed of launching apps and system speed. It means that you'll still have enough free memory (you'll have free memory as much as you need, because it is not good if you have really a lot of free memory, because Android's work with memory is different from other OS) and you can fully use your multitask, my script doesn't kill your app automatically when you minimize it. Your system and switching between apps or launching apps will be very fast.
Now you don't have to use Task Killer!

Requirements: Root, Kernel which supports init.d
Lowmemorykiller values
-Values which mainly affect your multitask and free memory. Values of my script were made for combination of using multitask and still have enough free memory.
VM values
-Very important values which affect your battery consumption, system speed and speed of launching apps.

HOW TO CHECK IF SCRIPT WORKS
Download "AutoKiller Memory Optimizer" and check values:
LMK values
10MB, 16MB, 24MB, 48MB, 56MB, 72MB
VM values
50, 10, 5, 10, 90, 5
ROM devs can use Juwell's script in their ROMs, but give the proper credit.

I have been testing this script with Rewind 3D Sense 3.0 and switching between apps and navagating threw the homescreen is a lot smoother.
Downside, it kills my battery pretty fast, 3 hours and already down to 50% lite use.
I attached the flashable.zip and the script by itself.
Enjoy!!

KInGdOm ReWiND 3D - working
I think the script works for any rom, but I haven't tested all. If any of you test and confirm working, please advise so I can update this post.

No need to add it to ReMix, it's already in there
Yup its in both my pure speed rom and the upcoming update for my hybrid speed.

So what would happen if I put auto killer to the mac while running this script ?
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk
So the script is killing the battery, or the task app?

That would be overkill. The task killer apps actually hurt the phone's battery more than help anyway, so this script should be enough.

kills battery.. I turned off auto sync, animations and brightness on low... Battery seems to be doing better.
Rom is flying though!!! "Remix"
Sent from my Phone using XDA App
Flashed over senseless banshee...no ill effects so far, and seems much zippier.
im on miui, the version before the newest.
my battery percentage hasnt budged in 2 hours, and went down 1 just a minute ago. not sure how but my battery life is better then it ever has been.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
running great on an oldie but goodie, ruby rom with incredikernel. might have to try on miui considering the latest version lags like crazy for me. Also noticed an increase in battery life as well
DINC+XDA=CRACK
so how do you tell if it is working correct i downloaded autokiller but not sure what to look for

They are all fun to play around with
Can this be flashed with RA-Recovery? I Hate CW
i got AutoKiller Memory Optimizer but i dont see the values it says to look for
flashed but the script never went to system/etc/init.d like it's suppose to. extracted and moved it myself but values never changed after reboot

+1
Manually moved s97ramscript using root explorer. Set Permissions rwxrwxrwx, rebooted and I am not seeing the correct values in Autokiller Memory Optimizer.
Not really sure wtf is going on here, running MIUI with incredikernel, both latest versions.
I had the same issue with the script. Remove "s" from the script so it should be "97ramscript". It should work. Worked for me after I did that.
whats different between this one and V6 SuperCharger? V6 supercharger doesnt require Cw flashing, just script manager and busybox 1.18.2

Is this battery drainage healthy?

At that pace you look like you will get 20+ hours of moderate usage. I'd say that's pretty darn good, wouldn't you?
I suppose so. Usage was pretty light - it was just in my pocket most of the day. But, if that would last the day for me, then all is well.

If you're on ICS, is it stock or custom ROMS? Could you tell me which one is it? And did you delete all the bloatware using Titanium Backup?
Thanks

I'm running a non-rooted version of the stock ICS ROM for the UK. I haven't used Titanium Backup to delete bloatware, but rather just disabled apps such as the Social Hub, built in file manager (I use Astro), calculator and weather widgets. There's a list of save to disable apps on here somwhere. By disabling them, they're removed from your app menu and never run in the background again. I've also got power saving mode on.

ICS?? amazing.. i need to flash stock ICS soon then. Because whichever ICS roms/stock ones i used, they gave me half the battery life than what I used to obtain using gingerbread.
Thanks for your reply bud

ram expander - screen capture

I didnt want to clutter up the AOIP thread any more, so I just came on here to say I tried the ram manager and ram expander. I settled on ram expander. phone is quiet a different machine now.
however I am having issues when getting a screenshot. I get an error saying "couldnt capture screenshot. storage may be in use" thoughts ? i have tried with and without the ram expander active.
running the newest AOIP 2.0 (4.3)

hmmm it could be just an issue with AOIP 2.0 or a background app causing the issue. On 1.5 I don't have that issue and never messed with screen capture when I tested 2.0. In AOIP tread i posted a screen capture with ramexpander and LBE running.

Which SD card are your screenshots stored? If it's on the card where the swap file is that is most likely the issue. I do know that the SWAP file stops any ability to transfer files from PC to phone on the SD card in which it is in use. Change the storage location of the screenshots to the other card, bet that fixes it.

Obviously it makes sense when using usb cable as it gets unmounted from android first but android wont unmount if something is already accessing the sdcard. internal or external. its same with any os. however he is just accessing it within andoid it's self when using screen capture.. So which goes back to what i originally said as i can use screen capture on either sdcards with and without swap. Its either a bug with AOIP 2.0 or another app he has is blocking its access.
thanks for the feedback. im thinking its something in AOIP, I just wiped and reflashed AOIP 2.0 with the gapps from the thread, still no recording of the screenshot to either sd card. so im at a loss for now. I might post this back in the AOIP thread...
im still playing around with different settings trying to get the screen capture to work right for me. I do get a screenshot file, its just a blank black picture.
i know there is a way to track or i guess log the activity on the phone....can someone help me out on how to do that?
There's an app called aLogcat or from phone terminal type: logcat > /storage/sdcard1/logcat.txt. If you have adb installed, $: adb shell logcat.
ya hes right. If you you can't figure out after looking over logcat. attach it to a post and I'll see what I can find and do.
this is the file i generated from the logcat. i went through in wordpad and spaced out the commands, so if something looks out of place...sorry.
hope it helps. thanks!

k i just saved it to pc. ill look it over when i get a chance either later today my time or tomorrow for sure
sorry for being later at replying back got swamped with some freelance work. After reviewing logcat it looks like its losing focus due to not finding a qualified user. I may be completely wrong but I think it may be a bug in aoip 2.0. Cam may be better at seeing something I do not as he has a lot more experience at it. Your best bet at this current point is to pm cam to see if he can pin point the exact area and I'm sure i can do the rest as he is a busy family man. Depending on what he says you may have to either a) wait if bug has to be fixed in source code or b) swap roms to either previous aoip or different rom all together and but not least c) try an app that does it and see if it gives the same problem.
cool deal. thanks for looking at it. i will try a third party app and see how that works. and cam, if you happen to see this, i guess take note?
thanks guys!
not a problem.
Just going to report back, using a third party app I am now able to capture screenshots.

That is facebook. My max is 211 MB weird. You can solve it by disable it and use another application for facebook but I havent found any good one (yet)
Its normal, just the NSA stealing your data. The Facebook app is a known RAM hogger, like windows facebook will eat as much RAM as you have available.
PS: Try restarting your phone once in a while.

Hello,
Dont know if your ever tried fast facebook? I really like it has a nice holo theme to it and is pretty fast, only problem is that the app is very slow at 2G or something but on wifi and 3G no problems. You only need to install other apps for notifications and widgets. And the app isnt hogging ram or something .
