the Android App? im testing, thanks
Stick it into a PC, dont try to recover on the phone itself. Dont copy any data to it, until you have got all of your files back. Recover the files to the PC and not SD card itself.
And then you can try as many free recovery programs, as you want, till you got at least your most important files back

Hi,
I made a mistake and I tried the beta version of the ICS which made the counter counts "1". To get things even worse, the mobile stopped reading the memory card and I had to format it and I lost all my file in that memory card. How can I get them back and rest the counter?
I tried the "How to remove yellow triangle on any firmware with JIG" but it didn't work.
Help
First of all, Dont put any files on memory card if you want to recover data. As if it overwrites older data, you won't be able to recover old files.
Connect your device with USB debugging mode, then select connect device from notification
Now you will get separate drive letter for memory card.
There are lot SW available to restore data, i know one is 'Get data back', google it n try recovering from memory card drive.

Do i understand right you want to recover deleted/formatted data?
try:
cgsecurity testdisk

or take a look at:

Got good results in past.

If you formatted it already then it's possible that you'll never be able to recover the files. If you have access to Linux -- e.g. via a liveCD or something -- you can try a command-line utility called 'magicrescue', but even then it's not guaranteed it'll be able to rescue the whole file.

Even formatted, data can be recovered and as long no new data overwrite the old data too many times.

simple format just making unable to read, so still it remains recoverable. If data where it is located on sector, overwrite with other data, thn only it becomes non recoberable.
Low level format only erases data completely, but i think nobody routinely using it.

I did link to magicrescue, didn't I? And no, even a simple format that resets the allocation table can still result in files not being possible to recover, it all depends on whether the file was fragmented or not; if the file was written to non-consecutive blocks on the card then there is simply no way for a program to know where all the blocks are located without the allocation table.
The tools that try to rescue files from broken/formatted filesystems rely on the fact that they can find the file header and that the header format is known to the rescue utility. As such those tools cannot rescue filetypes that they aren't familiar with or for which the user has not supplied the proper settings.

Low-level format is when you have access to the actual barebones hardware and can read/write e.g. the internal CRC-structures there. What you are referring to is not low-level format, it's just plain old regular format.
Now get off my lawn.
Greetings brothers,
Recently, I found that my music disappeared from my gallery, but when I search into sd card via polaris office I find all the music there. Same thing happens to photos...any suggestions on how to solve this problem?
Oh and btw when I use gingerbreak, it keeps saying: rooting etc. Any solutions?

Hi,
Since two days ago when i installed the Marvel ROM, I have the same problem. Cant see photos, music, etc... But if i go to Root Browser i see the photos on the SD Card.
Check if there is any .nomedia file in the root of sdcard or in your music/picture folders.
try what they said above and if it doesnt works...try defragmenting it using a pc
Hi there!
At the moment , I am in holiday and I'll arrive tomorrow. I will search in my sd for that .nomedia but I have a question...will sd defragmentation from phone work ? And how to do the defragmentation via pc? What programs should I use.
Thank you for your assistance. You are such a good community. Good night to every one!!

owh,..
thank bro for your advice,..:good:
Also be careful getting fake, imitation sd cards out there, it would cause you instability problems like those gallery messing up, occassionaly read write errors when rom flashing or install apps on sd, and sometimes you already deleted this photo/video and will show up later on, getting duplicate copies on thumbnail galleries but actually its the same, so when you delete one, you delete both. You really cant tell the difference from fake to original, most of the time its logo easily fades. Also get those made in japan, korea or taiwan, not those made in china.

Hi, everybody. So everything was fine till today. Today my phone fully discharged, and then I put it to the charger and turned it on. Than I noticed, that there is no my apps, ant there is no my Go Launcher, only ADW. So, I tried to check everything via USB, and it detected my SD Card ant SD-Ext. Than I have installed root explorer and checked everything - it can see my music, and other files that are on my system, SD Card and etc., but it shows nothing on my SD-EXT. I didin't nothing with it. So what's the problem and what I should do?
P.S. This is official CM7 nightly. Before (about 1-2 months) it was working ok.
So I hope you will help me. Thanks.

If you're about music and etc - everything is fine with it, I can listen to music and etc. My SD-Card files are ok, there is only problem with files in SD-Ext.

1. All SD-Ext files copy to my pc.
2. Reset/Wipe SD-Ext
3. Put all copied data from PC to SD-Ext.
So, could I do something like this?

you can use this mod for swap that 4Gb partition with your mircrosd card so then you will have internal mem 2gb; usb mem(sdcard) xGb and external mem (extsd) 4gb http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36613948&postcount=1017 use the changed mem
for restoring the original partitions use the original mem
just flash them in recovery mod
P.S. if you wanna save your all apps/games move all to internal mem then copy the Android/data and Android/obb (if exist) to tha microsd card then you can flash the changed memory mod

Brocky2011 told you what to do. You must root phone anyway. No other ways that that two provided here. That app, or this swap places of internal and external memory.
For ROOTING
-JB you can use this ---> single way
-GB you can use this --> method 1 metod 2
Use GL to SD(free in play)
this is already rooted before

Hi all,
I noticed that my internal sd card has two 0 folders, they are like so
Sdcard/0/0/
Everything from internet saves on the first /0/Download for ex., i am now on arhd 51, but previously on archidroid everything saved inside /0/0/Download, is there any way to fix this, or repartition or something without need to wipe all the data in sd? Because everything is messed up and i don't know any more wich uses what folder and so on.
Thx in front.

can you post some screenshots of the two folders and their content, perhaps i can tell you what to do?
Edit: you can also copy all the files in one of the 0 folders to the other 0 folder and delete the empty one, i asked for screenshots just to make sure if there is any important file in one of those folders that maybe will cause problems with functioning of other apps or system settings if you replace it.
Here is the /0/0/ and i cannot delete archidroid folder or clockworkmod folder (write protected), also if i copy pictures from 0/0/DCIM/Camera to 0/DCIM/Camera, they are not shown, even after reboot when mediascanner is running, when i transfer them back they are imediately shown.
Edit: i can delete archidroid and clockworkmod folder, but via phone, not via pc, but the probem with transfering pictures to now used DCIM still persists.

I transfered all the pics inside a new folder in sdcard/0/DCIM but they just don't wanna show, they pop up only in sdcard/0/0/DCIM
What can cause this problem? (I can normally view them in file managers.
I noticed that when i force run media scanner it scans storage/emulated/0/0/
It doesnt scan the first /0/ that is used now, can this be fixed?

oke bro, here is what you should do everything personal and important to you like pics./music/documents copy to your external sd card or to your pc if possible both should be safe. format your internal sd card of the phone in recovery mode after everything is restored back put your files back into proper folders and all should be fine again. you are rooted and have custom recovery installed right?

Yes of course i'm rooted with twrp, i tought there was some other way than getting in all that copy paste, but i'll do that and then it must, just must work.
I think i messed something up in archidroid installation when it asked for EXT4 repartitioning or something like that.

yes that must be it, as i had read somewhere on these threads a similar problem like yours its better to avoid changing or setting options from which you dont understand what they do like EXT4 or F2FS partitions unless you know what you are doing. at least thats what i do to avoid any problems with my device

It's 'calculating time for copy...' now, i see it'll take ages to 'calculate', so, is there any option to just mount the internal sd card, i remember i could mount it via CWM on my old S2 and everything went quick, but i cannot mount just SD anymore, only as a 'Media device', it seems quite slower..
Do you know an option to do that?

I do recommend using philz touch CWM advanced edition or just the CWM touch version as a recovery choice (especially philz) rather than Twrp, but its all up to you..
I was on philz quite a while, now testing twrp, i did the wipe, everything's perfect now, but i accidentaly deleted my pics coz' they were in the 0/0/ and i deleted the second 0 thinking i don't need it
