arrf!!! my phone's jack rack is dead since first use, i'm so sorry/disapointed for not being able to test that!!!
Seems a good app, what is the sample rate you used for the sounds?? The latency isn't too big for a live mix?
btw, nuff thanks for DJs support!!!

sample rate
Hi NebZone,
Samples are 44,1 Khz 16bit Stereo, the App size is a little big.
You can load your own sample too !
I've been a dj for a lot of years, this app is designed for DJs by a DJ !

HTC Diamond G-Sensor - New Use IDEA!!! MP3 Playback speed adjustment for runners

Hi ...
Various manufacturers have come up with sensors and software (even special running shoes) as accessories to iPod etc to allow beat analysis + playback speed modification based on a runners pace (detected by a pedometor).
I'm thinking, as a runner, and an owner of the very capable Diamond, that the G-Sensor could do this very job.
I personally run, using the Diamond as an MP3 player, with it mounted in a tiny arm band holder.
The very nature of the position of the phone will produce "G" signals which will match the pace of my running.
If this was combined with a fairly standard "Beat analysis" algorithm in an MP3 player, it should be possible to adjust the speed of MP3 playback (within margains) to match the running pace.
Does this sound like a reasonable idea ?
If so, is there anyone out there that has the skill and time to develop such an application ?
I'm sure it would be very popular.
I have lots of ideas about how it would work and what parameters would be useful to adjust etc.
Looking forward to any responses.
Interesting, and probably the movement data could be used for a pedometer as well, could be a battery efficient way to track running distance.
I just set up yesterday my Diamond to play MP3's via WMP and track my running with RunGPS at the same time, using the wired remote to control the tracks. Very cool. If you are a serious runner/cyclist I suggest you try RunGPS, you can export to google maps etc but the feature I like the most is you can get voice announcements over your headphones e.g. announce your current speed, average speed, distance run etc etc every 5 minutes. I have just started training for my first marathon so it's good to help me learn to keep a constant pace (aim is to finish under 4 hours, and most importantly just to finish....)
GPS obviously hits the battery life, running for 1.5 hours yesterday with rungps and mp3 playing took my (Stock) battery from 100% to 50%.
Hiya Bigruss ...
I've taken a look at the trial version of RunGPS - it looks great. I'll give it a try this afternoon on my half-marathon training run (ING Amsterdam).
I see this chap has plans to add a pedometer function based on the G-Sensor in his very nice GPS Cycle Computer software.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424423
I'll keep an eye on that!
Bit more info for this idea
A few more ideas on this ...
I would imagine that the G-Sensor / Pedometer area isn't too difficult, as mounting the phone on the arm creates a steady swinging action in direct correlation to your pace.
BUT the MP3 adjust side requires several things :-
1) An MP3 player that will adjust playback speed without pitch adjustment. (Many do this now within reasonable limites, but not the built in one).
2) A beat analysis program to establish where possible a number of BPM in the music (easier with dance music etc) - similar algorithm used in all the visualizations for WMP etc.
3) G-Sensor based pace rate analysis.
4) Interface between the two with some adjust parameters from the user.
I think it's pretty complicated! But it would make the diamond a seriously impressive partner to the thousands of runners out there.
Anyone up for the challenge ?
P.

*Reserved*
Here are my 2 cents...
Pulse - Great news/RSS reader with nice UI and fast sharing support.
Folder Organizer - Create labels and group applications. Add short-cuts/widgets to home screen for easy organization - saves a lot of homescreen space.
ES File Explorer - One of best file explorers with LAN, FTP and BT support.
3G Watchdog - Monitor your Mobile Data usage.
Advanced Task Killer - Task killers aren't really NEEDED for Android, but sometimes you just want to end a certain task quickly for one of many possible reasons.
Goggles - Really a multi-purpose application. Bar/QR codes, images, a sort of OCR,...
GPS Test - Test your GPS and see how's your signal. Great for cold (first) start.
Aldiko - One of best e-book readers, supports importing of epub files.
handyCalc - Solves equations and draws graphs as well - say no more.
Hertz - High quality audio/voice recorder.
PowerAMP - One of best music players with top of the line EQ.
SoundHound - It's free now (no more 5 songs/month limitation) - really useful app if you like listening to radio and you just missed the name of the sound.
RockPlayer - Along with VPlayer, one of the best video players around. (UPDATE: VPlayer is no longer free, sadly)
SAM (SlideME Marketplace) - Support for paid apps for users who can't get them in Android Market.
Great Fio, thanks... this thread is going a bit slow

Android Drag Racing Thread!

Hope it's ok to start this thread...just thought, as Drag Racing has had a few cool updates, like textures, graphics and best of all....you can add your username and also see it just above the car you own when your racing etc....PLUS the ability to find and invite friends etc etc....
Would be kinda cool to have a thread where we could perhaps give our Drag Racing user names, and race each other etc etc.
Would be some cool friendly bragging wars on here as well, when my modded clio sport blows past you all....or vice versa etc.
Post up latest stats etc as well.
Anyway, my username: bodybuilder27 so add me, then enjoying some humble moments if I make you choke on my exhaust fumes, or bragging rights if you kick my butt...lol
When i finally learn how to root my phone, i'll post screen shot of my stats, which aint very good at all, unless it is possible to take a screenshot without root?
Anyway, add your Drag Racing usernames here and screenshots of your stats and we can have a bit of fun, adding each other, smoking each other, shaming each other...lol.

- Drive 50+ cars from Integra to Evo to Veyron SS
- Buy performance upgrades and tune your car
- Challenge other racers online!
*** TIPS:
1. Racing
- Blue/green lights on dashboard will help you launch and shift at the right time
- If there is too much wheelspin, you are not going anywhere
- Once you learn how to drive properly, ignore the lights and find your own winning strategy
- Nitrous is more effective on underpowered cars with lots of grip. Timing is crucial!
2. Cars and upgrades
- Test drive before you buy a car!
- The more your car costs, the tougher opposition you'll face both offline and online
- Upgrades count towards increasing car cost/level, while tuning doesn't
- Keep your car cost just under your level cap to get an advantage
- Adjusting gear ratios (Garage -> Upgrade -> Tune) is costly, but lets you achieve times that are impossible on stock settings
3. Game modes and winnings
- Race against beginner/amateur AI to get some quick cash and build your car
- Defeat bosses and unlock achievements for extra RP
- Go online and race against others to earn maximum cash/RP
- If your car isn't ready for online races, earn some cash in "Drivers Battle"
- For the ultimate challenge, race against top players in Pro League
4. Misc
- Join facebook.com/DragRacingGame for news and strategy
- Try playing with vibration on (enable it in the "Settings" menu)!
- If the game runs slow on your phone, use the task manager to kill unnecessary background tasks, or reboot the device
*** COMING SOON:
- iOS/FB versions and "bike edition" coming this fall
MOD EDIT : Removed attached APK, it was outdated.
Drag racing
Love this app. Found it alot of updates ago. Props to the developers for continuing to update and improve the game.
My drag racing name is Nikneverwins. (Its just a clever name) add me and lets race.
Btw latest update. 1.1.3. Did something to pro league to prevent cheating. I'm not a cheater but my level nine got disqualified and 4708 rank points were lost. Level 1 4307 points lost.
I love the game so I am not too mad, as long as I know that the update will stop cheaters who take the fun out of the game.
look for me on the track!!!

Moskito app for WP7 - No more Moskitos

The application emit a very unique high frequency sound (ultra sound) that the insects dislike. The pitch of the sound is so high that most humans will not notice anything.
Keep the application close to you and enjoy the outdoors without bites..
There are about 3500 known mosquito species in the world and they all react slightly different to the repeller.

You should post the xap file here or give further info about your apps.
I can't put external links in my thread, ( Forum restriction ! ) you can find Moskito in WP7 Marketplace
Thanks
This app is a complete BS, hoax! It's does nothing, just playing some weird sound.mp3 file via MediaElement (and show ads of course - it's a main purpose of this app). sound.mp3 has only silence with a few spikes inside (you may see by yourself using Audacity, for example). 7 "good" ratings was produced (I believe so!) by the author's friends.
Shame on this app!
