Hey guys, i finally coughed up the dough for a new lcd for my nexus, so i havent been around the community in a few months.
Anyway, one of the older cyanogenmod's allowed custom trackball notifications (color, flash rate, notification specific)
Does anyone know of any roms/mods/kernels that allow custom trackball notifications?
I use 'Light Flow' for a year now and I think there is no app that can do it better:
Light Flow (free)
Light Flow (paid)

I've had RC1 since it came out and haven't updated since I never knew what was changed or added.
The official changelog doesn't list what was changed from version to version -- very annoying.
So... For anyone who is running CM6 Final, is there any benefit to updating from RC1? Any new features? Performance improvements? Anything worthwhile at all?
There is a lot of great stuff in there. Check out the change log. http://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_vendor_cyanogen/blob/froyo/CHANGELOG.mkdn I believe everything below "Common: Other camera enhancements - Cyanogen" has been added since RC1
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
The best way in my opinion to keep up with changes is to either follow @cmsrc & all the various CM contributors in your twitter feeds or subscribe to Cyanogen's Github, twitter, and CM forum RSS feeds. I do both. I keep a folder in my Google Reader labeled "cyanogen" that keeps me pretty much up to date with whats going on.
To attempt to answer your question a couple things I think are different from RC1 to Stable would be the
RenderFX widget
restart into bootloader/recovery directly from the power button
obviously ADWLauncher with custom shortcuts & a few other goodies
exporting the XML from custom notifications started working
maybe the new power settings widget?
Touch to focus is the coolest new feature and it works beautifully.
Moving from RC1 means you'll see quite a few changes... most notable would be
1. True 720p video recording
2. Enhanced camera app with ISO settings and many more manual settings
3. Camera touch to focus
4. Ability to set custom trackball colors for apps notifications
5. Enhanced audio DSP (equalizer)
6. System-wide proxy settings

Does this mean Trackball Alert is not needed?
I've never used trackball alert but I would say it isn't needed anymore.
You can choose any color and blink rate for any notification.
It includes options for:
Succession
Pulse in order
Random Colors
Blend Notifications
Dude there's been a ton of major changes since r c 1. Like serious major additions.

Yeah I'd just like to know what they are and if they're features I'd use since the CM team isn't exactly the greatest at updating their changelog
Where is the option for recovery or bootloader from the power button?

Is there a difference between cm6 final and cm6.0.0 n1 rc3? I am currently running that and i do not have touch to focus in the camera app?

I never tried it on the rc3 either, but since i have upgraded to the CM6 final, I went to the camera, touched the screen to bring up the auto focus option on top right and switched to touch to focus.
Do you not have that option under rc3?

It's on the Nexus theme and apps board but if you have Rom Manager, it will link you directly to the updated CM6 final version.
I have just made the switch from CM6 to Enomthers ROM to get the HTC Cam App.
The major thing I'm really missing on this ROM is the "Configurable brightness sensor - Jonas Larsson" from CM6.
Is it possible to get this running on other ROM's? I've spent hours trying to find an app to do this function and haven't been able to find anything similar.

So did you ask in Enom's thread?
I just ordered my Moto X Dev Edition during the Cyber Monday madness sale. I can honestly say that this will be the only phone I could enjoy on stock firmware, but I was wanting to use Cyanogenmod on it just because it features WAY more convenient toggles and controls. I would hate to miss out on Active Display and Touchless Controls. My question is: has anyone tried going into the Play Store and instaling the Touchless Control apk on a custom ROM? Does it work? I know it's entirely based on it's "always listening" chip, and not software, but I'm worried Motorola might be restricting that feature to stock firmware.

Cyanogenmod has some sound issues, specifically the head phone jack does not work, dialer only works as a speaker phone. The stock ROM with xposed frameworks functions better than any cm 10.2 or 11 or any custom ROM. You get all the customization available with almost any custom ROM but with all the perks that the stock ROM gives, touch less control and active notifications

People say that, but I've never seen Xposed mods that offer the convenient toggles and status bar brightness slider that CM offers. That, and I can't find anything better than the native theming. Any suggestions?

Thank you. What about theming? I'm addicted to the HoloGlass theme.

hi, new to the board with a MotoX-verizon.
To you that have rooted motoX's, is there anywhere in the setting/hidden/program menus, etc. that the intensity level at which the phone vibrate can be changed?
Peace and Love

Not on the stock ROM but some custom ROMs do allow you to adjust how the phone vibrates, I believe OSE and or beanstalk have that as an option

Personally I'd stick with stock if I were you and root that. But yeah, if you want to try custom, Havoc is probably best due to it having the best implemented vibrations - although they still aren't as good as stock. Plus, if air triggers is your thing, none of the custom roms have them working. Either that or MSM for features.
If you do go for custom, you can control RGB with this app
