hello guys...i am a new user of Samsung galaxy note GT N700 and this is the first time i use a smartphone. My father bought it from a friend. Since i want to root the phone to get full access on it, i have encountered with a problem..
I cannot determine the kernel version, baseband, and firmware built on my phone. There is NO 'about phone' button in settings menu and i have search the entire phone for it. Is it okay to root my galaxy note without knowing these kernel etc info? i have tried to root my phone into Android OS ICS 4 using this way -->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1936319 but stucked at the 'download mode' section which when i push those button, nothing happenned (i have turned off my phone and tried to enter download mode by pushing those button).
So, how can i determine those kernel version, baseband and firmware built on my phone? thanks for any helpful replies, guys..i'm in such a hurry because tommorrow i have to go back to my college...
There seems to be some weird issue at hand, try doing a factory reset to see if it returns.

Hi, First off all, i've searched the whole day after solutions before posting this tread... So be helpfull please.
So, after I Flashed, rooted and updated my Galaxy note GT-N7000 to android 4.2.2 it worked nice for a couple of hours... and then suddenly i lost connectivity. i restarted and the phone didn't ask my pin nr... So after some research i saw that my IMEI was changed to "004999010640000/01"
That could be the possible reason why my phone doesn't detect any sim card anymore.
Anyway, i've done a lot of things to solve it today, even a downgrade to 4.1.2
Things i've tried:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264021
http://gsm-fahim.blogspot.be/2013/02/samsung-android-repair-efs-imei-repair.html
and some other things... But none of them helped... :s
Can someone help me out please? :s
Phone specs:
Galaxy Note GT-N7000
Android version: 4.1.2
Baseband: N7000XXLSO
Buildnr: JZO54K.N7000XLSZ
i would love it if my phone would be fully restored to zero, so it would be like, brand new from the box...
Greetings!
You have a so called "developer IMEI" now. In official TW Roms there seems to be a check in android.policy.jar for the pin. And so you do not get the SIM pin dialog.
This happened many times and so a lot of times this question has been answered and the workarounds, solutions etc. are posted.
So why not search a little more (like "cvxcvx").
Simply try to change the Pin in Settings (new Pin=old Pin should work) and you should have network connection.

Hi, thank you for the response.
I've been trying that too, but i can't seem to find that setting anymore .
unlikely i didnt think about the fact that this would restore my pin... :/
[Edit]
I've found, rarely, yesterday i didnt, how to change pin codes... And its works... but doesn't solve the problem of the IMEI.
And when i restart the phone, i need to change my pin again to get connection... Can someone solve this? :/

i have the same problem but i never get connection.., how can i change my pin code ?
if you use a TW ROM based on XXLT4,5,... you can try the android.policy.jar from my old XXLSC dump. This works for me.
Link later...

I forgot my phone pin .My phone is rooted and I want to hard reset my phone to get access. Can anyone help? OR Do I have to visit a care center. Is there a problem to flash or hard reset a rooted phone. Please help
Do you have a custom recovery? if so then this might help : " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2225695 "
My friend followed the above method but he had a Samsung and he forgot his pattern.I'm pretty sure that it might work for you too as well.Still not too sure though.I'll appreciate it if someone could confirm this.
Do this at your own risk.
Also, I don't think you need to consider service centers.
Good luck.

If you forgot your pin used on lockscreen then you can also reset your password by signing in using the id used in PlayStore.(If you have signed in).
You can get that option near Emergency Calls after you enter wrong password more than 5-6 times.

Like Bruce said you could try going to https://www.google.co.uk/android/devicemanager and removing your Nexus 6, then try to login to your phone again. It is a long shot but it might work.

Select your device and then click on remove. This will remove any link between your account and your device as far as I know.
I need to flash TWRP on a Samsung Galaxy S10 phone without unlocking the bootloader.
Is there any method to do this? I couldn`t find anything helpful on google.
The reasen why i need to do this is because i my aunt forgot her pin and also her google account connectet to the phone, so i can`t use the phone to unlock the bootloader.
I need to flash the device first with TWRP and install a costum ROM (that`s the best way i know).
If anybody has another idea how to get into the phone he is welcome to share it.
Cheers,
Thomas
you cant

If the device doesn't actually belong to your aunt (as stated in the other thread), but has been found somewhere, the correct course of action is to hand it in to the police. Thread closed.
