I flashed it back to stock 902 a few weeks ago. For some reason, it comes up to the "Bad Flash" screen every time I turn it on. I have to turn it of, hold down both volume buttons, turn it back on, and then choose "normal boot". It's fine after that. Is there an easy way to clear this? I'm currently running SafeStrap as my recovery.
flash failure?
I've been having this same issue. Flash failure is what mine says
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA
Flashing any .img sucessfully should clear the error.
That's what I thought too
Yeah, for some reason, the area does not clear. I updated to Spearmint Gummy ICS thinking it would clear the error, but no such luck.
Did you have any errors when flashing to 902?
download the 902 FXZ file, adb Motorola drivers and rsd lite 5.6. Google for links.
flash the 902 free in rsd lite, will restore you back to stock 902

I has a space error, but I cleaned some stuff off and was able to flash no problem. I first ran into the issue when trying to go from Liberty Rom 2.0 back to stock 901

I did that originally which got me back to stock 902. This screen persists at boot.
Hey OP, Go into the factory recovery and wipe data.
You know how to get to stock recovery?

Just did that, but it didn't work. I did a full data wipe/factory reset in stock recovery. I still get the "bad flash" screen on every boot up.
And you for sure Flashed with the most current 902 FXZ file right? Not with 901?

I went into stock recovery and did a full data/factory wipe. The "bad flash" screen persists at each boot.

I did. At the time, my storage was pretty full. That's when I got the error to begin with. I cleaned some space up and then did it again and it succeeded. I still get the "bad flash" screen with each boot though.
I would try flashing again. Your using rsd lite 5.6 with it right?
Sent from my Eclipsed Bionic
The data wipe and factory reset is not going to change the flash failure error you are receiving. You need to successfully flash an image before it will go away. You can do this with RSDlite 5.6 or moto-fastboot the specific images.
I can help you in more detail, if needed.
Here is a good place to download the full 902 fxz...http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-bionic-hacks/202176-detailed-safestrap-instructions.html
Send me a PM if you need more help.
eye_dea is correct. Just flash any image with moto-fastboot will clear the flash failure and let you boot normally.
I had the same issue on my bionic. It said flash failure and nothing I could do would fix it. Finally I found a thread that said to try "FixCDT". I put the FixCDT file in my ADB folder and ran it. Instantly it rebooted my phone normal. I am not sure where the thread was, but just google FixCDT and I am sure you can find it. If that doesn't work sorry.

I messed up and didnt do a nandroid back up of 5.6.893 system files, just have one of .866 stock. I installed reblurry, now I want to install 5.7.893 update, but I can only nandroid back to .866. I guess I have to somehow push 5.6.893 system files in recovery. How can I do this?
Will using R3L3AS3DRoot get me back to spec? When it recovers it says it can do .886 and .893, but which is uploaded?
You can go back to 886, cheesecake to 5.5.893, then 5.6.893, then the new 5.7.893 if you choose. I would make a backup in between of all.

Thank you for replying, I have the direct 5.5.893 and tried to install it from recovery console and it failed, will going through cheesecake make a difference?
Both 5.5.893 and 5.6. fail at system verification when installing.
Must be stock bloated.

Didnt work. Used R3L3AS3DRoot to go back absolutely stock, but still failed at system verification. R3L3AS3DRoot uses .886 as a base.
Tried through cheesecake, tried directly from recovery console, 5.5.893, 5.6.893, did a system recovery. Nothing worked. I think the only thing that could work is if someone has a backup of an absolutely stock nandroid backup of 5.6.893 they could upload somewhere?

I can get you this later. Don't have time now. But I have this backup.

You. Complete. Me.
Thank you.
You need to download this file: http://droidmodderx.com/bionic/leak-ota-update-5-5-893-better-battery-bettery-connection/
Then flash it and then you can update to 5.7.893.
Remember to back up and keep it in a safe place (labeled) and you can just re-flash to that and you can update to the next one that moto decides to push through. There is no way the rom is finished at this point, there have been reports of the Webtop not working.
Enjoy!
Boot into STOCK recovery and use that zip file to flash an update.
I appreciate that, but I already have that, and in my case it doesnt work. Because I went to 5.6.893 the boot loader I believe was updated, and it wont let me go back to 5.5.893. I tried 5.7.893 and it fails also. They all fail at system verification. Because my bootloader/kernal is from 5.6.893 but my system is running 5.5.886
I guess it all has to match up to proceed.
Check your PM steve
Thank you very much!!
remember to make a new backup as soon as you get 5.7.893. First thing!
Will do! Thank you!
Im afraid it didnt work. I tried to install it like any other .zip rom, through CWR, but it immediately fails.
OK, I just dumped the zips contents in to the back up file in CWM, going to try it as a back up
Seems to be working!
It worked! Thank you very much, you saved my upgrade path, lol. After I installed your back up, I did a factory reset to start from scratch. I loaded cheesecake, but it kept saying I was up to date, so I found it online and updated it. Went perfect! I knew all I needed was a 5.6.893 back up to be back in action. So now I backed up 5.7.893 and am reinstalling a backup of reblurred.2.0.
Hi all, I'm new with bionic as my previous phone was Photon. I tried to flash to ICS leak on my bionic, I'm on 905 OTA rooted. In my experience i tried to flash Eclips 3.0 but always had no data access.(grey triangle blinking) but I can received call and SMS only.
Do I have to return to 902 and then OTA to 905 again or just unroot my bionic (Voodoo keeper) and then flash the ICS leak 6.7.232.
Sorry if the question already been re post and for my bad English .
If you were able to flash Eclipse 3.0, then you must have installed either Bootstrap or Safestrap, neither of which can be used to install the ics leak. It must be done in stock recovery. If you have either of those installed you will have to remove them.
Ok, thanks, so i will erase boot or safestrap from my phone an will enter cwm recovery manually. But if i fail or stuck in the bootloop can i just directly restore from my backup.
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2
Unfortunately you probably need to have either bootstrap or safestrap installed to restore from a backup, depending on which you used to make it.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
Oh that's right. I'm experienced bootlop when i m flashing eclips 3.0 and some how when i reebooted several times it came through on eclips with that grey triangle problem. One more question, which zip do you recommend to used for return to 902. There is 902 with 666 mb and 902 custom with 456 mb zip file.
Thanks

I JUST got my Droid Bionic in the mail, rooted it using the Virtualbox method, and now when I boot, I get an encryption error, and I can't reset my phone. What in the world is happening?

Put it back into stock with FXZ / RSD Lite?
After you restore the stock JB image, you'll probably need this to root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2256439
Ok guys bought a droid bionic to replace my s4 that i am selling for note 3 and having an issue getting recovery working. I rooted it with no issues and then go for the bootstrap/safestrap recovery and boot into clockwork then i reboot and boom encryption unsucessful. After awhile of finding the right sbf file i flashed it in rsdlite and got phone back on and still have sdcard and stuff that i heard can sometimes be rendered unusable. So now im wondering how i can root, recovery and flash some roms successfully. Any suggestions?
So noobish of me
I'm having the same problem being a scrub and all wit linix and cwm in general. I manage to get myself to the same spot encryption unsuccessful - which gives me the option to do a factory reset which obviously doesn't not work.. So i tried to do a reset in the cw recovery which i managed to do but still stuck. I'm running jellybean on my Droid Bionic - i read that you can't flash it with RSDlite if your running jb you'll end up with a hard brick. So i'm stuck in sum kind of boot loop which i'm assuming i need to find the right sbf file and push it through sum how? Or flash it wit my recovery i made on my sd but don't kno how.. Help Anyone?

I finally used the newest update from 8/31 & got it working!!!

Finally ffs
ENCRYPTION UNSUCESSFUL
After days of research I came to a conclusion of what my complication come to be. I kept getting an error with
RSD LITE on 5/22 OEM failure
So in the sbf file i had to alter the fxz - xml document
Deleting two lines from the scripted
consisting of OEM .
Once i removed these two lines RSD functioned correctly finally

awesome! so you rooted now and safe strapped yet?
I have a spring Moto x with an unlocked bootloader. I want to take the 4.4 update once available so I flashed the stock recovery. Do I have to flash a stock image and relock to take the update? The only mod I have is exposed and gravity box which I could just uninstall first.
Thanks

Yes you should flash stock System. No, you don't have to relock
I had to rsd lite my phone back to factory default and then was able to take the ota with no problems. I tried to do it on a rooted stock rom but the update just kept taking me to TWRP and then stop. So I had to just reboot and do the whole rsd lite deal. Some people have gone back to factory default from using the tool kit but I never went that route.

When you RSD does it erase everything on your phone? I'm asking because I tried to go back to stock recovery (I also have TWRP now) but I keep on getting the droid with the triangle and exclamation mark...

The droid with the triangle is stock recovery. If you want to rsd you can delete the delete user data line to keep your data but you should just have to flash stock recovery and system and should be good to update.

So what you're saying is that if see that droid then I'm good? Also, do I have flash both system.img and recovery.img?

As long as you have no other mods, deleted or frozen apps yes you should be.
