i Unlocked the bootloader form HTCDev.com according to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337105 guide to the point but after unlocking the bootloader i installed RunnyDroid v5.1 it gave me force closes of almost every app and even the screen hung while locking or unlocking the mobile (the power button ) .,,,so i tried virtuos rom even that gave me the same thing...what could be the reason ..??? rom is not overclocked and i have HBoot 2.000 my incredible s is S-ON by the way
I think the kernel(boot.img) doesn't installed very well because S-on with unlocked devices must flash the boot.IMG via the computer manually.
Command here
"fastboot flash boot boot.IMG"

have already done that the issue stated is after installing the kernel from the command promt
Which recovery you have installed?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA
Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4
Try to install 4EXTrecovery. Revolutionary recovery is too old.

But can the recovery be an issue..???? can i directly flash 4ext recovery over CWM ..???
Maybe a filesystem problem. Now all roms are preformatted the devices with ext4 fiflesystem for a better performance. I think revolutionary recovery doesn't support ext4 so the FC problem is occurred.
Also Android Revolution HD will flash the latest recovery after install the Rom. This Rom is modified from the stock. So the Rom may boot successfully. For more details, take a look on its description and the changelog.

Yes the recovery can be an issue. CWM 4.01 is an older version. For ARHD you definitely need 4Ext recovery.
Or you can extract the zip file and flash the recovery manually.
Command here
"fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"

Just go on 4ext.net on your phone and download the updater. Then click install and it will over write your old recovery with the latest one

Thanks Brother...lets hope now it wont force close every now and then

Hi Guys,
My heads sorta spinning from information overload so I'm hoping one of you guys can help me. I have a Incredible S and I used this guide to downgrade my HBOOT and get my S-OFF using revolutionary and flash clockwork, which I did successfully. I then decided to install this ROM which requires Blackrose. So I installed blackrose beta sucessfully overwriting the revolutionary HBOOT. This is where it all starts to go wrong. I then set about doing a full wipe and tried to install the ROM using Clockwork and the installation completed sucessfully. But when I try to boot up my phone I get stuck at the HTC quietly brilliant screen. I also restored a backup I took with Clockwork with the same results; stuck at the boot screen. I tried following the steps in the thread of the ROM (listed below) with no avail.
Here are some steps you can try if the ROM hangs on the HTC splash screen
1. Download the file lib.zip from here: http://bit.ly/PwK4BH (MD5 SUM: 83dd68b32d39c994b3069d8813b3c3ea)
2. Unzip the lib.img and place it on your PC where you have fastboot.exe installed.
3. Boot into FASTBOOT USB mode and then enter the following command:
fastboot flash lib lib.img
4. Wipe Data/System Reset.
5. Wipe Dalvik Cache.
6. Then reinstall vivo_signed_WWE_4.10.405.1_ICS_SENSE36_8.zip
Do any of you guys have any suggestions or know whats wrong? Even if I can get back to the latest stock ROM while preserving my root I would be happy.
Thanks Guys!!!
BTW i would have posted in the rom thread on I dont have enough posts :crying:
No need blackrose on this rom. Just flash and install rom if you S-On flash boot.img manual via adb flash.
Before, i ve used that rom & back to my prev rom like Stock and Nik Rom.
++no need blackrose++

It says in the ROM thread "This ROM requires that you upgrade Revolutionary HBOOT 6.13.to BlackRose 2.02.0002 because of space issues with the ICS /system partition."

What version of HBOOT does your phone now show?
Did the flashing of thr lib.img in FASTBOOT USB mode show any errors?
What is the exact file name of the vivo_signed_WWE_4.10.405.1_ICS_SENSE36 rom?
Which version of ClockworkMod are you using?
Things have went from bad to worse. I uninstalled blackrose now I'm back to revolutionary hboot 1.13.0000. But now I cannot boot at all or even get to the white htc screen. I am stuck in bootloader and have lost recovery. Thereby my phone will not charge enough to accept a RRU. I tried to reflash recovery by fastboot but I keep getting a Remote:signature verify fail error Have I bricked my phone? :crying::crying::crying:

The only option you have at this point is to flash an official PG32IMG.zip file extracted from a RUU and copy it to your SD card. Then when you boot into bootloader it will find the file, flash it and that should get you going.
It sound like you need to use the 2.30.405.1 RUU from here:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0a...5AU_3805.06.03.03_M_release_199308_signed.exe
DUDE! This is no lie. You are a legend!!! That worked. I had myself prepared for buying a new phone!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH
so, i just flashed the modified firmware.zip for 3.09 with twrp recovery, and everything was a success, until i rebooted..now im stuck in a bootloop.
bootloop as in the splashscreen when you turn on the device shows, and then it restarts
i followed everything right, relocked bootloader, etc etc
im soff, i once flashed a custom hboot (without the warning text), but i dont think that should be a problem with soff..
i have super cid, so what did i do wrong? and what can i do to fix it?
i was thinking of flashing cwm and restoring a previous backup i made, but when i try flashing it, it says "not allowed', so i cant even get cwm recovery.
so basically my question is, how do i get out of this bootloop after flashing the latest firmware.zip?
Maybe you can't flash a recovery because you are relocked?

twrp flashed fine..just cant get cwm to flash..so that shouldnt be the problem. regardless, how can i get out of this bootlooop
You can't flash cwm because you relocked the boot loader.
You're stuck in a bootloop because you can't have a locked boot loader and custom recovery. It will always cause a bootloop.
Unlock the boot loader and it will boot fine.

Can't get my stock unlocked one to boot into CWM recovery. Wanting a stock nandroid before doing S-off.
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recovery.img
Just hangs at downloading.
Is this a limitation of the 1.54 hboot or something else?

"fastboot boot recovery.img" no longer works in 1.54. You're going to have to flash CWM (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img) to be able to get to CWM. and of course you'll loose stock recovery, so the nandroid will contain the CWM recovery.
How can I extract the stock recovery before flashing CWM?
Or where can I find stock recovery for 2.24.161.1?

Several people were looking for stock recovery for that version, don't know if anybody found it, but there is a Guru Reset for 2.24.161.1, which supposedly includes the stock recovery: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-161-1-zip/
Downloaded that. Not sure that is stock recovery. Says there is an option to restore stock recovery when available.
I found this....
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-cu...k-recovery-2-24-161-1-vodafone-gesucht-2.html
Image size is different to one in ruu
Any way to verify?

I don't know how to decompile .img files, so can't verify.
One thing you can do (if the above don't work), is once you are S-Off, (temporarily) downgrade to this nandroid: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/m7-cwm-nandroid-backup-cid-vodap102-1-29-161-7-7z/
then download the OTA to 2.24.161.1, do not install, just extract recovery.img from the OTA file.
I really want run viper ROM and I can't. Every time I install my phone gets stuck on boot loader, I can't even go into recovery .I'm following instructions using newest twrp. And s-on

I would recommend getting s-off and then flash the newest recovery.

got my htc one today from who i thought was a nice lady, turned out to be a ....yeah...that, she showed me it working but as soon as it went dead, it never came back on, turns out the phones bricked i think
it was on a tablet custom rom, as im trying to flash the stock rom but im not very good at doing this, i cant find a working recovery that allows me to mount system as it cant have a memory card, no success, i can only get into bootloader fastboot thingy and use the cmd adb thingy,
also i cant boot the phone up as normal, i tried earlier but it satys on the htc screen, the fist screen when u switch it on my device details are as follows
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT - 1.54.0000
RADIO - 4A.17.3250.14
OPENDSP V31.120.274.0617
OS - 2.24.206.1
EMMC - BOOT 2048
somebody help me please im dieing without a good phone lol
use fastboot to change recovery.u can download cwm from rommanager site (M7), then, after power on the device in fastboot (vol down + power on), in cmd type: fastboot flash recovery "recoveryname".img (the name change on what you download. you are now good to boot into cwm recovery.
now you can sideload a rom from pc. in the recovery wipe data then select flash update zip from sideload and after downloading the rom you wanted you can type adb sideload rom.zip (rom name change on what you download). and bam you have flashed a rom from pc to phone and you could now reboot your phone...it's an international m7 so look for gsm roms only
If you are planning to flash a kit Kat 4.4.2 you need latest recovery. TWRP comes highly recommended.
When in fastboot mode open cmd window on your Windows computer (search box type in cmd) point to your adb/fastboot folder where you also downloaded your recovery) and type then:
fastboot erase cache
fastboit flash recovery name-of-your-recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
Now you can boot into your recovery, in TWRP you do another wipe (factory reset or under Advanced tap select only cache+dalvik+system) and sideload a ROM from there.
I suggest to use a Sense ROM first, and of those one with Sense 5.5 as Sense 6.0 ROMa are still in their early stages and not 100% stable yet.
Under stickies in the Android Developer section you find loads of info regarding flashing/recovery ect.

only one thats half working ( recovery ) is TWRP but the sideload isnt working...
55459356 1951
also now the twrp or twpr doesnt work on the international version i put on it from the all in one toolkit
As I suggested: go to the stickies under Android Developing and you find excellent tutorials.
They explain in detail how to set up adb/fastboot and how to flash ROMs.
The toolkit is only good as long as you understand what it does.

You have to get an unlock token from the htc dev site...there is also a description of how to flash it
i just unlocked the boot loader
Then go ahead...flash recovery, then sideload a ROM..
