How about Camera ICS for Non-ICS ROM`s like Zeus v.6 :
- it has the silent mode (no disable/enable option needed into ZeusTweaker) , already tested and no need that option to disable/enable in zeus script to take effect
- has a ICS look (like the name says)
- you can use volume keys +/- to zoom
- i think is more simple (in my opinion)
- only problem i found was (no zoom, in or out in video recording mode)
- the question is , can be ported to the Zeus ROM ? (is for Huexxx too), since we have some apps ported to this GREAT ROM version and no longer need to go to zeus script to disable the sound of camera .

since froyo this wasn't possible, before I got OB I had a samsung marvel [non-android] and that was a very cool feature to zoom in and out while recording video, so one of the first things a tried with OB was that zooming thing and it wasn't possible, that was kind of disappointing

yes the negative points are about the same as in Zeus v.6.xx camera but the difference is the sound on/off which you don`t need zeus script to activate/deactivate them ...

Didn't work for me Running V10a, don't know which date.
EDIT: It seems that it did work after all, I just misread the description... I have this problem where all apps that use the camera (like barcode scanner) boots up with a very dark picture and doesn't adjust the exposure, and I thought the fix posted here fixed that Oh well, it's probably just a bug i barcode scanner.
I've the same bug with a barcode scanner app.

Is it me or is there a visible decrease in quality of the videos taken after this fix has been implemented? I also realised the camera flash is also not working so optimally after using the fix.
Initially, it was smooth to move the camera's view across places with differences in exposure and the "light flickers" weren't so obvious. Now it's pretty obvious...

Alright. Sorry to be a pain but I forgot to do a backup in recovery and I seriously find the camera to be sluggish now.
I used to be able to move around and it wouldn't lag at all but now, it's lagging pretty obviously.
I would like to know if it's possible to just flash the original camera app to get it back into its original form since this patch should only have changed stuff within it, right?
If so, it would be great if someone let me know where I can get the original camera apk or zip.
It seems that Leedroid Rom support HTC Camera with panoramic and HDR mode.. (tnx Lee )i'm asking to m(g)ods if its possibile to extract the apk and relative dependencies to have a working Camera on other roms too ( specially ARHD,lol ) Why? Because Panoramic mode in HTC Camera is fantastic! its the best. no rivals. photos are 90% merged correctly and the result is always awesome!

Hm, it should work without any app, because you have Android Revolution running which includes Sense 3.0 by stock.
And my camera app is also from this.
Are you sure there is no support for panorama and HDR?
Have you looked under Effects in the Menu?

I think there's a problem with sensor..when i press shoot button and move around the line in the middle of the screen just freeze ..i think there must be some other lib to include for the sensor work properly..
And i'm wondering if HDR is working too. I can't discover any major changes in the quality of the shots taken. Or am i missing something (of have to do something extra, like wipe cache)?
From what i understand of photography, to make a HDR picture, either you have a sensor with a a larger bit depth, that is then compressed to the standard 8bit + color maping,
or you take 2+ fotos at a different exposure, "blend" them to get the most of shadows and highlights making for a greater bit depth, and then compress to the standard 8bit + color mapping.

yes,but in this case its a "artificial" HDR effect. when photo is taken the software creates a duplicate with different exposure and then blends photo toghether.so you will have HDR effect. btw i can see that pano and hdr doesn't work in this thread too..but in that case only camera apk provided. My flash file takes out some other system files used in the past by seo (credits to him) to port sense 3 camera with HDR&PANO to 2.5 based roms. I thought it would work btw there is someone who is on leedroid rom that can confirm if lee'camera is working good?

The leaked dhd build with sense 3.0 myt have those effects, try pushing that camera.apk or try leedroids think his is working

I flashed this new Camera/Gallery 4.2 to my SGS1 with custom JB Rom C-RoM Mix v5.
I can say that this new camera is much better than stock or the one from CM10. Everything is working fine: camera, video, panorama, pinch zoom, picture editing. Only one function is not working, it's Photo Sphere. I think it needs gyro sensor to work which SGS1 has none.

Same here. Photosphere is working, but the orientation is not working properly, the pointer moves very slow. I believe that the Photosphere App is searching for a Gyro Sensor, but because there is none availiable it uses the linear acceleration sensor with the same metrics as for the gyro sensor, because: If You Just hold down your phone a lil bit while in Photosphere mode, the curser moves slowly downwards, based on the acceleration measured by the sensor. As soon as the "real" source code is there, I will try to re-configure it with the Orientation Sensor of the SGS.

Yes you are right it happens the same to me, everything else works fine. I'm also using the new gmail and new keyboard in cm10 30/10 nightly and works great. Just the new clock widget doesn't works for me.

After change DPI 240 to 210 and flash Camera 4.2 to C-Rom Mix v5.0, everything works fine.
But Google Play recognized my i9000 into Nexus 10......

The flashable zip file changed your build.prop setting so the Photosphere function will run.
You have to edit the system/build.prop via Text Editor like Solid Explorer:
ro.product.model=GT-I9000
ro.product.brand=samsung
But note that when you modified the build.prop to the original setting, the Photosphere will not open anymore. It will say "sorry your device is not yet supported". Photosphere is not functioning anyway in SGS because it has no gyro sensor.

The camera isn't that fantastic. There are no options to:
Disable/change shutter sound
Change save location
Set a camera timer
Bind volume keys to zoom or shutter/focus
ISO settings
Auto-focus locking
Camera special effects (not necessary but my mate's AOKP camera has it).
The new gallery however is a direct upgrade over the existing one
The camera is free so we cannot expect too much from it. But it's surely much better than previous camera versions.
The camera has special effects thru photo editing in Gallery.

Camera/Gallery 4.2 is included in new released Roms JB 4.2.1. There are many Roms already in Android Development forum.

the ported camera shouldn't have that issue tbh. make sure your focus mode is set to auto, NOT facetracking.

I have it in the bottom right. Try force stopping the app and deleting data. If that doesn't help try reflashing. Mod should work on all roms.

MIUI Camera has a lot more features but Google Camera gives better photo results when properly configured, however Google Camera needs more time to take the photo (assuming you're using HDR+).
