I can't flash the radio
Ok, I open the command prompt and put the phone in bootloader. I write fastboot flash radio radio.img and wait a second and said me that "sending OK", but "writing FAILED! remote: don't allowed". I don't know why, I tried some radios, and a try some fastboot, and is the same. Someone know what is the problem? Thank you

Problem with manually upgrading firmware to 1.31.651.2

Hi, I've been trying to manually upgrade my firmware to 1.31.651.2 using fastboot but I keep getting an error in the command prompt saying "error: cannot load 'firmware.zip': Unknown error"
I'm s-off (used revone) and my bootloader is unlocked. I've redownloaded the file multiple times, but it always gets stuck at that point.

Yeah, I renamed the firmware and put it in the folder with fastboot. I also have another copy with the original name there as well.
From bootloader, I do fastboot oem rebootRUU, fastboot flash zip firmware.zip <--where I get the error. I've tried doing fastboot flash zip (original file name) but the same error occurs.

Sideload a custom recovery? What? Haha
Your phone has the updated touch drivers. That is why twrp won't work. Go to their thread. Redownload the newest version. Rename it TWRP.img. Make sure its in the same folder as your fastboot files. Hold shift and right click inside the folder. Select open command prompt here. Connect the phone while its in bootloader. "fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img" "fastboot erase cache".
Good luck.

[Q] I Have Completely Bork'd My Phone

After flashing updates regularly for over two years I do not know what I have done to mess my phone up this bad, but I did. There is no more file structure on the phone whatsoever. Nothing. At all.
Currently I can boot into Bootloader or I can boot into CWM Touch Recovery.
Whenever I go to "Install a Zip" using Recovery, there is no option to choose anything because there is no file structure.
Whenever I go to "Install a Zip from Sideload," and ROM file I send to it returns with a Status 7 error. I read online about removing the PROP comments from the update-script to fix the Status 7 error but that did not work, still got a Status 7 error.
I downloaded the RUU for the correct CID, there were two, and both of them fail with Error 155 Unknown Error.
I'm at my wit's end here and am pretty afraid I have bricked my phone. Would anybody here be willing to try to steer me out of the mess I have created?
Thank you,
Chris Williams

No. Started out with my Nexus S, then moved to a Nexus 4, then gave that to my wife and got an HTC One. I love this phone so much I wish I'd had it for two years already, but no.
Do you have any idea of a new path I can try?

Just to know.. Did you try to flash a RUU.exe or a RUU.zip? I had a lot of problems with the .exe files, while flashing the RUU.zip from command line usually work like a charm to me.

I have tried both actually. I used Hansoon2000's (I'm at work so hopefully I'm referencing that correctly) all in one toolkit to try to flash the RUU.zip file back to the device. It fails while transferring to the device every single time.
So next I tried to use the RUU.exe, both a newer and older version, for my CID and I get the mysterious Error 155 Unknown Error.
How do I flash the RUU.zip from the command line? I have tried using "Install zip from sideload" but I get a Status Error 7 when trying to flash ROM.zip files, and I have tried using ADB PUSH to push the ROM.zip over to the phone but since there's no file structure it doesn't really ever end up anywhere on the phone. (I'm using ROM.zip generically here for my CM ROMs, not RUU) Is there a command line or ADB function to flash the RUU.zip file that I'm not aware of?
Thanks,
Chris

Error 155 -> you're probably on hboot 1.55+, so you need to downgrade hboot separately first, (to hboot 1.44) then you can run the RUU. download here: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/1-29-401-12_hboot_1-44-zip/
then in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip 1.29.401.12_hboot_1.44.zip
fastboot flash zip 1.29.401.12_hboot_1.44.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> confirm hboot is 1.44
and run RUU.
PS: you have to be s-off obviously.

Thanks for the info. I'm actually on HBOOT 1.44 already luckily. But I am not S-Off. Is that why the RUU is not working? I tried to use the All-In-One Toolkit to achieve S-Off now, but without a file structure it didn't work.
Any direction on achieving S-Off while it's so messed up?
Thanks,
Chris

Please:
1- date of bootloader
2- a "fastboot getvar all" (remove IMEI and s/n)
3- link to the RUU you are trying to use.
Don't forget pressing the little thanks button for people who have helped
No offense but it sounds as if you simply aren't running an ruu.zip correctly. I'm not understanding all this hensonn2000 or toolkit talk that you have going on. You flash ruu.zip while the phone is in fastboot oem RUU mode. Not that complicated. Also the error 155 was the bootloader being unlocked if I recall correctly. You have to relock it before flashing or running the appropriate RUU. Specially if youre s-on.
Thanks guys. I ended up getting it all working. I did not have the Bootloader relocked and that was why the RUU kept failing.
Thanks again for the extra direction,
Chris

Boot Looped Incredible S... Last Try

Hey guys,
Last year I rooted my Incredible S and installed one of the CyanogenMods. Everything seemed to work fine until this spring when it started bootlooping on me. At first I could bootup and after running my phone for a few hours it would start looping. So I got a new battery which I thought would solve the problem, it didn't. Now I can't even boot up anymore without hitting the loop. I can only enter HBOOT.
I've tried following a few guides but I can't get anything going. Buying a new phone Friday but before thought I might as well post here. Any help?

I can enter fastboot but recovery and factory reset start a loop.
Thanks guys!
What recovery do you use?
Can you enter it?
If yes.. Just download one of your fav's roms, but it in your SD-Card, Wipe Everything, and Flash the rom (&GApps if AOSP) and reboot..
If No, Connect your Phone To PC and fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
Let me know if worked
Download and install a recovery, i recommend 4ext
See if u can enter it then...
I must tell ya, never give up, i remember myself forgetting to flash boot.img and having my dad almost killing me ^^
Thanks for the responses!
@Mohamed Ab M I cannot enter recovery off of hboot. I can flashboot and I tried to flash "recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-inc.img" but nothing improved. Is there something else I can try?
@oziboy Do you have a link for 4ext? I see the website but it looks like an app? Also, how do I wipe everything if fastboot is my only option right now?
Haven't given up yet but I only have until Friday!
Edit: Is there any chance this might have something to do with the radio?
ok tried two different things. Downloaded the recovery.img of 4ext from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377751 and fastboot flashed it. Nothing changed.
So I tried flashing a different radio... still no go.
Not sure what else I can try?
Well.. I can think of one thing :|
Try doing these commands in fastboot:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase data
fastboot erase cache
Maybe something is wrong in system.. I don't know
Btw dose it say "success" when you flash a recovery? Or it fails?
And if It didn't work... Try running an RUU :| and you will lose everything:|

I don't mind losing everything, already backed up contacts and messages when I could still access the OS.
Can you recommend a good RUU to try? What is an RUU? Thanks for the help!
Then for a ruu go here http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...33U_3831.18.00.11_M_release_266013_signed.exe
This should be the ruu that you need assuming your phone is a WWE, if you phone isnt WWE then use this to see what version is for you, make sure u only use vivo and not vivow
If the link to installation in beginning didnt work, that link was a link to the old thread of the RUU'S but anyway i posted the links for ya
Now all you gotta do is download the ruu , get ur phone to fastboot and do fastboot oem lock and then run the ruu on your computer and then go here for the rest http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1359555
Got into fastboot and entered "fastboot oem lock" but kept getting an error, command error or something.
Downloaded 4 different ruus and got the "rom.zip" file and renamed it to "update.zip" and tried "fastboot update update.zip" on all of them.... no luck. Something about wrong signature or something.
Thanks for everyone's help but I don't see anyway out here!

And u tried to run the ruu.exe without extracting the rom?
It saved my incredible s and my one x+
And to flash a rom.zip u need fastboot flash all rom.zip i think
This is actually doing something! I didn't realize I could run the RUU when plugged into fastboot. Fingers crossed here....
I got two working but both still resulted in a bootloop. Which convinces me the problem must be hardware or something. Oh well, it was a good device in its day.
Thank you for all your help!
Bootlooping is not a hardware failure..
Can you flash a recovery now? And use it?
Erm, now try extracting rom.zip and fastboot erase all and fastboot flash all rom.zip
Then id it does t work, flash the stock recovery from somewhere, only then you can use update.zip, this just came to my mind
If after flashing stock recovery try fastboot oem lock again and then go run the ruu.exe again
If it doesnt work then, then you gotta fastboot flash boot.img manually, this file is located in the rom.zip
If that doesnt work, try update.zip again with stock recovery
Must tell ya, its not hardware
You gotta give up only when your mobo is fried, and thats what i did on my htc one x+...
In the previous step I got S-ON set back on, does that change anything? Because now it seems that fastboot erase all doesn't work
erasing 'all'...
FAILED <remote: not allowed>
Trying the other steps you gave...
edit: I extracted a recovery_signed.zip file from the rom.zip file and tried to flash it using flashboot. Getting a signature error, though I know it is the correct RUU I am getting it from.
FAILED <remote: signature verify fail>
Try fastboot oem lock again, im 100 percent sure thats the command to lock it, i had almost the same issues when i failed my first try at rooting xD
Aight have you tried fastboot flash all rom.zip?
And then manually flash boot.img from the rom.zip?
None of those are working, getting errors on all them.

I downloaded an RUU .zip file, it didn't help;
When trying to flash it using fastboot:

I get a signature failed error. And I still can't unlock my bootloader.

OK thx alot
i think the zip file can't flash with fastboot because we don't turn on the developer option
so the only way to fix this is RUU.exe
I have the same problem I have unlock bootloader anyway its not works I can't do recovery I can't flash anything....
Phone turn on and stock on htc logo... T_T
In the general thread see my guide, I added links for the RUU and ZIMG files European and Asian versions to revert back to stock
