shendu ROM

I have used almost all the custom ROMs..i think this rom is the best in terms of speed, and mostly the best battery life. i don't like its launcher and am using adw-ex. its working great.. But again it may depend on individual basis. you can give a try !

I can't the thread honestly... So I think it's good to have another thread on Shendu

does the ROM have any SODs/hangs? I really need a reliable and battery-efficient rom..

The problem with this ROM is they removed most of the CM settings, most importantly "scrolling cache". You can't disable it, scrolling stutters so much. It's a little faster than official though atleast in Antutu.

as for me..i haven't got sod...but there is fc sometimes but its very very rare. new update released yesterday!

If I'm not mistaken, the default KB is called "Shendu". use Titanium Backup to uninstall it. Or go to system/app and rename the .apk to .apk.bak. Then you can use the keyboard of your choice.

Tried long pressing in the text field and choosing from there? I had to do that with lewa os
just sayin...

Long pressing in the text field don't work. No keyboards selection.
I froze Shendu but still there was no SlideIt.

Tried keyboard manger app from market?
just sayin...

[Q] Installing languages

Hi,
Is there a way of installing a new language without having to flash the firmware for that language's region? I want to add arabic as a language so I am able to have the menu, etc displayed in arabic without having to flash the Egyptian, Saudi (Jeddah) or Saudi firmware if possible. Maybe by just installing a language pack. I currently am able to read and write arabic texts so that part of things is fine.
Any assistance is much appreciated.

Arabic is not an option in the language settings, there are quite a few options but no arabic on mines.

Sorry about that. Thought there might in there somewhere. Maybe you will need to download firmware with letters JED in the list, thats the closest.

I've noticed today in samsung keyboard settings you can download languages, dont know if that helps you.

in the new firmware XXALK6 all languages exist in the languges list.

I downloaded a V20S version and it's working fine but there's only 1 problem . the Arabic language is not installed .. Is there a way I can download the language pack ? thanks

Maybe try an app like 'MoreLocale 2' but you might need root rights for it.

I've been regularly updating my samsung i9305 since 5.1 to 7.0, but this time i could not find the French language (in the Settings/Personal/language & input) except for the Bahasa, English and Chinese (i suppose ?!).
Please help.Thankyou

Smiley/icons in cm 7 notification?

I am using stable CM 7 rom, and flashed a hindi, etc language font file for hindi language support instead of those ∩ box, i wanna know is there any way to get simley in notification like one gets in CM10+ roms..?
