Actually it does work, well the apps do. I used root explorer and put some of the apps back and they worked.

I have little knowledge with the scripting. I am trying to get busybox working so i can use droid explorer. I have been reading a few post on how to install it and i cant seen to get it. i have.... kernal 2.6.27GK-0.31 and build 1.56.651.2 ttg-v0.1.6.. i have downloaded busybox and it is a protected program. let me know if you need to know more about what i have running.

Yeah I can help. My Rom already has droid explorer support. Read before you post please.
Thanks for the reply man. I did read and i flashed your rom. It wasnt working with Droid Explorer. I ended up having to flash a MOD to get it to work. Any way great rom

well then thanks for the half-way heads up.
I used Autonooter to root the stock 1.1.0 NC. Everything went well. The market included looks very old. is there any way to get a newer version of market on it?

So i just rooted and i cant restore my apps from titanium backup. I flashed back to stock with odin, did the update.zip to root and now i can't restore my apps from titanium backup. Heeeelllpppp

Did you do a master clear when you flashed to stock?
After i flashed to stock i flashed to stock i did not do a master clear i just rooted it again. But when i try to restore the apps it says i need to check the box to allow third party apps. Well obviously the captivate doesn't have that option

Then the Guys abouve me are right. No side loading is not enabled by default. ATT disables it. But there are many ways to get it done. Just do a search for enable sideloading. You will find your answers.

Ok you keep saying superoneclick but not saying what to do. I've looked in the link that was sent to me and Im not finding the help. There are thousands of post so its hard to find the right one. Can you help me on how to do it if its not a big problem.. It seems like your getting upset at me asking questions. If you are you don't have to come back to my thread or post and respond l. I posted this for help not attitude.

1. there is a video
2. launch the application and it will ALL be clear.....there is a BUTTON that says 'Allow Non Market Apps'
if you would bother to actually try to use the app you would have seen that....there was a reason we were pointing you to that application. 2 seconds of having it open and you would have seen it.

This has worked for some (me included) where others have failed. You just have to keep trying to find the solution that will work for you. I used to have to find these programs before I finally took the plunge and installed a custom Rom, the devs take care of all of that for you. In case you're interested, Andromeda3 works great!

Hey also with the rom you recommened, can I just move the file to my sd card and use cwr to flash it over? I c there is a mirror with the download, I never really understood what the mirrors are. but yea, can I use clockwork mod to flash it over.

mirrors are just more servers hosting the same file... a mirror of the other host so you can get the file from more than one location
frist of all thank you for checking my post out...so ive had my phone rooted for a while but i really havent done anything much to it...i want to install a new theme but it says is only for revolt rom v 1.5 thats where im stuck because im not familiar with ROMS....can anyone help me out? what do i do? do i need to update? thank you guys...maybe there is another post that i missed that talked about this??

Glad to see a new poster around here. Follow the instructions on that page and it should get you through everything. As long as you have Clockwork Mod (CWM) on your phone already. If you don't have that here's another thread for you:

That thread will get you CWM onto your phone just follow those instructions as well.
After you get all that done then just flash the theme you want through CWM using the zip file they give in their post with their instructions. I assume you already know where to get those and maybe even which one you want.

Are you talking which version of revolt? If so you should do the most recent 1.5. Make sure CWM is installed also.

Not trying to be a butthead but can't you load the stock V20P the just use megatron root? Its a I click and your done process. Only other reason I can think you would want to have one made is if your useing the file for something else and don't know how to compile it yourself.
Again not trying to insult at all. Pop in the dev section all the how to threads and download links are there. Search will pull up stuff to.
I just wanted to be able to go back to almost stock and keep clockwork and bla bla bla. I can go back to stock the long way, re root, and then reinstall clockwork... I was asking for a short cut, but I guess someone had to find fault in that. I am also pretty sure I'm not the only person that would appreciate it.

Load V20p, Root, install CWM then.... here is where things get interesting. Make a CW recovery backup!
Now you have your own and can use it anytime you want. Only takes effort once. Its so cool even I have done it.
Take it to the next lvl. Blow everyone's mind and post that bad boy for thoes others you spoke of to share. Now sir you are a contributor and will even get a thanks from the rest of us for helping out.
