Hi everyone,
I have purchased a galaxy note from Vodafone in Australia.
The phone has been unlocked and I am using it with an Optus sim.
It is the international version gt-n7000.
I am looking forward to the ice cream sandwich update, but am unsure who will release the update for this device.
Vodafone, Optus, or Samsung?
If anyone has had experience with this sort of scenario and can offer any advice, I would be very appreciative.
Thanks in advance!

If you are still in locked Rom you will updates from Vodafone. Since you have unlocked it..you have to do it manually..there is lot of options for flashing leaked ICS rom are available right now..search in development forum..

can anyone help me, i just bought the Samsung galaxy s, and i was wondering if there was a an update for android. i have 2.1 and i heard there was a 2.2
my phone is Eclair, if thats any help .
It depends on your location and model. If you are with bell in Canada like me they are saying Dec 15th but many european markets already have it.
If you do not want to wait for an official release for your model there are many threads in this forum on using different methods for upgrading unofficially. Just make sure you read the sticky thread on the three button reboot first.

I have an international gt-n7000 note and I'm using it in Canada on the Rogers network. Does anyone know if it's possible to get the official 4.0.4 update?
You can find all stock roms here
www.sammobile.com
i don't recommend updating to 4.0.4 on the int. n7000. I did that to mine and it ended up locking my sim. so I would recommend waiting for the 4.1 update.
I have UK version of the i9305 which I got from Orange/EE and have had it unlocked using a code. I want to know if there is an unbranded rom for the UK i9305 as I can't seem to find one anywhere and the orange rom is rubbish to say the least
I don't think there is a UK unbranded Rom. You can flash the Luxembourg unbranded Rom with Odin.

What do you mean by branded? What do you have on it?
I have the T-Mobile version and my initial Rom had no branding on it at all, perhaps Orange is different!
Still any of the Roms from the dev section have all branding removed but it will obviously invalidate your warranty (which you can revert) but then putting an unbranded rom on would do the same anyway!
EDIT: If you mean Samsung brabded then currently there are NO ASOP roms available for the 9305 but I feel the TouchWiz framework offers more at this point in time anyway. You can always just add a Launcher like Apex for the look and feel.
When I got my GT-I9305 it had a t-mobile label on the box and I am with orange! There does not seem to be any of the bloatware from orange I have had on previous devices. These EE roms don't seem to be branded.

What about the ported XXELKC 4.1.2 ROM?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2022533
All the roms from the dev section are unbranded, I still want to know what branding the OP is referring to and why they refer to the rom as being rubbish? This will then give us a little more info to work with and help them out!
In fact I have not come across any 9305 oms that have been branded official or not!

The Telstra I9305T is crippled in that the user is unable to change the icons in the dock. That's the reason why I rooted and flashed a custom ROM on my 9305.

I have two Telstra I9305T's - But why root it just to change the dock? Why not just use an unbranded official ROM?
Unbranded 4.1.1 ROM for 9305.

Because while I was at it, I may as well get 4.1.2 with Multiwindow, and a few other goodies

Oh right! Cool. So you're running 4.1.2 but not an official release just a custom yeah? That's alright. I'm 'trying' to stick to official ROM's for the time being (I've only just converted to Android from iOS).

It's a 'clean' official ROM, but it's been ported from the I9300. So it depends on how you define official

My phone was on LRK but I'm from the UK
Mine was From Italia, i changed to LRK because Germany always gets the updates first (at least for note, or at least the last 3 major updates) and I'm from Venezuela..
I see no point on changing roms to brasil or any south American carrier.. They get the updates months after the official its released...

There is no official jb out yet, we're still waiting. There are leaked source jb roms which are as close to stock as possible like lsa or lsc but they still have bugs.

Btw, official jb is likely to be released soon, like within a month unless Samsung do as they did with ics and run over again, but judging by the leaks, that's doubtful I'd say.

Samsung promised JB to February?
That's good..
They have not promised anything whatsoever.

Hi all.
I have recently moved to Australia and i have taken my Gnote with me. I works on all the networks fine and im looking to flash it with Jellybean from ICS.
Is there anything i should know about doing this like.. radios and compatibility etc.. or can i just pick and choose something i like and flash it?
ALSO,
If i was to flash it with the official firmware just to take it back to stock, would it matter if i did this with a Australia version if its different? or would i have to do this with the UK firmware.
Any help would be great!
(spelling mistake in title Note not 'not')
I have a French note that I use in Australia. So far the best JB radio/modem I've found is XXLSO and I've tried several.
Galaxy Note N7000: JonRom UBLSF V1 + SpeedMod k5-3 + XXLSO on Telstra
I've done the same as you - from London to sydney two weeks ago. No complaints, no changes, nothing. Just a new sim and go! Using an international Note mind
