Many people are searching tutorial how to disassemble p970. On polish forum we have 3 topics with asking about "whare can I find tut how to disassemble p970".

Thanks for the tutorial it's really useful, I just cracked my OB screen and I will try to change it by myself.
Sent from my LG-P970 using XDA

I already done it. I had to replace my cracked glass. The worst part is that it's glued and has some hermetic parts. Be careful to not snatch the earpiece on the top while removing the glass because it is also glued :/

good post
thanks man its good to know how to mange your device in all aspects
even disassembling it
I think step 5 is missing part of the picture

Thanks, j'ai entendu dire qu'il faut acheter du scotch double face pour fixer la dalle tactile, tu pourrais me confirmer cela stp.
Translantion: I've heard that when you change the OB touch screen you got to buy doubled-sided tape to secure the screen, does anybody knows if this is true?

No, this is full picture. You need to move the site to right side.

Great tutorial!! Thanks for the translation.
I hope I won't need to open my phone ever, but if the time comes it's good to have a reference point to start from.

Nice to hear it

yes, you may use some double sided adhesive tape, but only for hermetically seal the outline of the LCD screen (see the original one)
For the gluing, I used "Repair Extreme - Resiste A Tout" by Pattex. It's the best suitability, I think.
Unfortunately, it's no more dustproof because I righlty didn't seal the LCD

I have a question regarding this subject:
My OB's screen has been replaced with a replacement screen by technicians of my cellular provider. (because it suddenly stopped working)
Is it sure that the replacement screen is an original part and completely identical to the one that comes with the phone?

Unsolder the screen? I dont think so
I have disassambled the LG as far as the pictures in the first post show. Thats really easy and for me there was no need for an tutorial.
But to remove the speaker u need access from the backside and from the frontside of the phone. From the backside u have to unsolder the speakercables ( black and red on the left side ) and from the frontside u have to remove the speaker itself.
But to do so, u have to remove the screen first. And thats the point, i need some help.

sorry for the misunderstanding, but your sentence wasn't clear to me.
so, you could do it this way :
warm the part in an oven to weak the glue, then push off the screen on its top by the backside of the chassis

Remove AT&T emblem

Anyone have any sugggestions on how to remove the at&t emblem from the top right corner without marring the finish?
sugar cube or grains. use search.
DO NOT USE SUGAR, you WILL mar the finish.
Use "Goo-Off" or Nail Polish remover. DO NOT LET IT SIT on the surface. Apply a small amount to a Q-tip and rub in the direction of the grain. (top to bottom on a tilt) So it gently and do NOT over soak the Q-Tip. Go over several times lightly. You want to have several light layered rubs instead of a few heavy ones.
That should do it...

Wrong. This will NOT even phase the att logo. As far as I know, there is no way to remove it without ruining the finish under it. My first tilt (i was returning it anyway for an exchange) I even took an exacto knife to the logo and removed part of one letter to find its kinda etched into the finish under it. Until I see a picture of someones that sucessfully removed it (with no other visible damage under it) in a post here, I wont believe its possible to do.
Yep, I tried all kinds of sugar cubes (cane sugar, crystal sugar, rock sugar) and also nail polish, 100% acetone professional studio strength -- didn't do anything.
Anybody have any bright ideas?
I used thermite to remove the logo and it works great.
Just a side note if you leave it on to long it will eat clear through your phone
This freaking logo is ment to stay for life

I dunno if we mean the same thermite, but the thermite I know becomes very hot if you ignite it! Once it's lit it can evaporate liquid nitrogen (brainiacs)Though you'll need quite some firepower to light it...
Thermite will burn through an engine block. Obviously he's being flipant.

They are selling it for $65.99. They usual post how-to videos also. I suggest maybe looking at comparable phones.

did you break your screen when your HD2 is inside the noreve leather case?
Yes, but it was open 'mea culpa'
Ouch sorry to hear about this. I read somewhere about it is better to get a kit with the LCD and digitizer together. Some people seemed not to have luck trying to separate and replace and put back together. Just what I read, I have no idea.
Good luck and hope you get it going soon.
Thanks bobsbbq. Some questions:
1.- Then, if I bought together (touchscreen and LCD) it would be easier to replaced them
2.- Where can I buy them together?
Thanks bob
I dont have instructions for you how to swap the display, but I can say the following: I had an Samsung Omnia, and the resistive touchscreen there was very bad. But there was an replacement which seemed to work much better. So I bought a new LCD + digitizer and started to disassemble the whole phone. I have to say, I'm not very good in disassembling electronics or reparing them. But after an hour of hard work where I sometimes had a bad feeling by pulling out the different flat-cables, the touchscreen was replaced and worked like a charm.
What I wanted to say with my post: I think you can do it, if you have the right equipment and some time. Good luck.
I broke the screen on my Diamond2 and tried to fix it myself, but broke it beyond repair.
Be careful!

oh man... I feel for you. You can check out a thread in the Accessories section of the HD1. Basically you are better off buying TouchScreen and LCD preassembled and replace the whole thing
Same thing happened to mine although the damage is lesser. Is the bezel around the glass (same piece of plastic that makes the back cover) damaged?
Mine is chipped heaps in the corner
I successfully replaced the screen on my Touch HD but was unable to remove the LCD screen from the digitizer so had to purchase a whole kit for about $200.
I can't find any for the HD2 though
To the people saying so: are you sure that the LCD is stuck to the digitizer like in the Touch HD or just speculation / thinking you read it somewhere?

Hi there,
I remember seeing the inside of the HTC HD2 online once and the screen had a suction pad on in it abit like this one. Maybe you should investigate that. I will post the link if I can find it.
You may also want to check your warranty you never know.

My himalaya sink in milk

Hi
Yesterday, while i was talking with my girl with my himalaya i was eating milk flakes. By my mistake my himalaya fell into milk, when on voice connection. Only thing which has not been into milk is microphone and dpad. I told her that my himalaya is in milk but I could talk anyway (lol). I got my himalaya out of milk, told that I must disconnect and then himalaya died. I tried to run it but all up buttons are connected (pressed) so it went into hardreset mode. I tried to run without any changes (NO, NO, NO) and it ran but all buttons without dpad and phone buttons were pressed. Today, after dry night, I tried to run. There is some changes: Digitizer failed, screen has dark stains, buttons are sometimes pressed, but I can run without HR mode.
What should I do?

I see you had quite an accident Dont try to turn on phone again until you clean him because situatiom might get worst
First you need to buy a isopropylene(if you dont know where to buy pm me), watch out for price this should cost 5zł for 1l
Then dismantle your hima, take cosmetic stick wet in isopropylene and clean PCB until you dont see any milk on it.
Screen is doomed, so stain is not removeable.
Good luck man

How to fix? Any suggestions?
As i said before, you cant fix your screen. The only thing you can do is replace with another one
Stand by button can be easly replaced with some rubber and plastic
As mj_weed said, you'll need a replacement part. I'd suggest dismantling it first and inspecting both the LCD and digitizer. It may be one or the other (or possibly both).
Taking apart the digitizer and the display!!!

Even Moderator sometimes are wrong!
Dismantle the device and disconnect the TS/Display from the mainboard.
After that, take out the display by using a small screwdriver to remove the 2 screws fixing the display and the speaker.
After that, push the small plastic lashes on the sides of the display and take it out of the cover upwards.
Now, you should have the metal back covering a white plastic frame and the digitizer mounted on the front.
The digitizer can be carefully removed, using a razor blade.
From now on: no more dust around!!!! (to aero: no milk!!!) Ha, Ha, sorry.
It is fixed with super thin double sided soldering tape. As you have been carefully enough and didn't brake the glass part of the TS you can fix it after cleaning without the need of something new.
The display itself can be take apart with the same screwdriver opening the sides of the metal back. Don't bend the metal, it is is just clipped.
Inside there are some (1 or 2?) filmslides and the back side of the display to clean .
This should have been all. In case the digitizer is broken, I recovered one of the broken display of my 8.5! Euro Alpine. (No joke!)
The (used) replacement display, I bought at X-mas came from china.
10 Euro cost (differs on changing course) and 12 Euro shipping.
There are still some left!! It took about 14 days to arrive, so it is worth waiting, as this is still half the price of a new one!!!
Good luck, to everyone on your own DIY-experiences.

I had a similar issue and unfortunately no amount of cleaning resolved it. In my situation, I needed a new LCD. Often times that's the case, that's why it's always a good idea to take it apart first and check it out for yourself. Good luck to all!
Good news, to all who like aoeroflylubys' roms, a new used device is on the way!
same thing happened to me when we had the great flood back in Oct., I was able to restore my HIMA by drying it up bt the digitizer stoped working. i tried removing the digitizer and i learned that it was jst a piece of glass that sticks above the LCD. It could be possible that some of the liquid is still stuck in the middle of the LCD and the digitizer mirror. I think it realy needs a replacement of the digitizer. what i did to my HIMA was I bought a replacement LCD from Ebay in china and it works fine now.
I'm sorry, friend.
HI aeroflyluby
I had my fall But as a final screen, you lose and I need to change it.
I've carved out. Inside a plastic sheet multi-nested.
1. When you need water to quickly remove the LCD screen of your Ecedngm out and make it dry.
2. You be careful if you never fix it. But I am a mechanic by telephone.
3. In the end, you will definitely change the screen. The monitor in my price used is very rare and expensive.
Dear admins and mods, please close this thread, as it outdated 5 month now!!
I donated a working device to luby and he became one of the most active cookers (beside

I'm still working on a cheap hima for efsane, as his roms are still present and wanted here.

I just wanted to share my experience with my o2x those days... For a long time I was getting some blury photos with a bit of too much brighnes, and I didnt know what to do. After a lil accident with my phone, the backcover of the phone, the little black plastic that covers the camera was cracked in the corner. So I decided to just remove it and dont give a f**k

Just stick it and remove it... as scotch isn't very strong tape, it only removes the fat and leaves the transparent plastic in perfect clean state!
use it on all surfaces, try out on the screen first, you'll see how it works!
That's the old trick with our optimus There are threads mentioning this, some people got better results some don't see any difference
I removed plastic cover from mine long time ago and have some improvement
yes, when I want good pictures I remove the back cover, but I would like to buy another back cover and remove that piece of plastic just in case I want to protect it again with the original one.

Omg man, you're awesome. I took a picture with the cover before cleaning the plastic, another after cleaning it and one without the cover, I'm amazed!
With the plastic clean the picture is as good or maybe better than without the cover, it's amazing!
Before cleaning it the camera performed really bad. Too bad that the plastic gets oiled so easily, but this tape trick works and very very good, thank you very much
good work!! been taking crap pic for ages thinking it was just cm10.1 cam

Yes, old discussion
With the plastic cover of the sensor (why LG did it??) we have to take care (clean) of:
1) external side of the plastic
2) internal side of plastic
3) external side of sensor
P.S. plus... scratches/abrasion in the transparent plastic cover (internal and external..).
Doing this, there are no doubts: the qualty improvement is a fact.

Hi guyz!
Thats the sh*t Im talking about, the little black thing there

I don't have this plastic cover for year maybe, it just felt of
I've removed the plastic and the improvements are amazing. But still, it's a really bad camera..
Using other apps instead the stock camera the quality improves. Camera360 works good with this phone
Improve the input, and the output improves

[Q] Camera scratches

Got my p7 since 1 month, but after 1 week my back camera was full of scratches...
Anyone else got this issue?
Is there any way to remove them ?
thank
I haven't like that issue
The rear camera, sadly, isn't protected by Gorilla Glass. It's just some oleophobic coating.
You can try polishing it a little with toothpaste, watch the video below:

nothing change i tested it, it makes wort's..
Same problem here. You can try cutting a round piece of screen protector and putting it on the camera.
Sent from my HUAWEI P7-L10 using XDA Free mobile app
Same problem, the first big scratch came after just few days. Luckily scratches don't seem to affect photo quality.
The scratches are caused by a layer above the real glas, which should reduce fingerprints. As described in a German forum, I used a knife just to scratch about the glas and to remove the layer. After cleaning with a wet fabric, the lense was like it was at the beginning. I hope u understand what I tried to figure out. If not, I could describe it more detail..

Hi mate, thanks for the tip, is it safe to scratch it? I mean if I scratch it with a knife, will it damage the real glass underneath it?
Yes, the glass got no single scratch. But the metallic ring may get, so be careful at the border. Another tip written in the mentioned thread was to use politure, which should work even better..
