Lower part of digitizer not working

Hi,
My friend gave me his broken G1(digitizer+screen).
I've bought new ones and replaced them.
Now i have a weird problem that the lower part of the digitizer is not responding, i cannot open the menu button or touch anything there.
but if i hold my finger for few seconds and then let go then it will open a "quick search".. like it is responding.
is it possible that i've messed something along the way or that the digitizer was not working from the factory?
Also was wondering if there is some program to calibrate?
Thanks
Anyone?
can't help you actually, but i hope this hint helps you:
the g1 has a capacitive touchscreen, it doesnt require a digitizer / calibrating...
but as i don't know how capacitive touchscreens work in detail i can't help you...
I have the same problem :S
I have seen posts about the lower part of the digitizer not working. I think your digitizer is defective. Try wiping and installing your rom again or If you can, see if you can disconnect the ribbon connecting the digitizer to the LCD and then connect it back to the LCD, restart your phone and If it still does not work then your digitizer is probably defective. Contact the seller and ask for a refund or replacement would be the best choice.
Ye I managed to fix it.
I opened and reconnected my phone probably 100 times :S
Oh well, I hope its fixed permanently and Iwon't have to open it again incase it drops out again :S
If you just recently bought the digitizer, i would suggest you ask for a replacement so that problem would not occur again.

No light on my HTC

First I want to say hello to everybody because this is my first thread.
I found a lot of solutions for my problems on this forum but I can not find solution for brand new problem that appeared yesterday. The thing is that my phone fall out from my pocket and now I do not have any picture and light anymore. I can turn on phone, synchronize with my laptop but no flashing light on buttons and no picture. The LCD seems OK (no scratch or visible sign that is broken).
Does anybody know what is wrong or what can I check? Phone has no warranty anymore.
try and get the help from general options.
if you cant get this fixed.. please let me know..
i am badly in need of dead Touch diamonds..
we are working on a college project....
please be kind
I managed to repair it. I opened it, put all together and it works now. I think that one (or both) connectors on the back side of main board lost connection when the phone fall on the floor. So lucky me, I have a working phone.
Sorry asnaveenkumar, now it works.

[Q] Galaxy s motherboard replacement

Hello,
I have a busted galaxy s (memory card corrupted).. now i can get another one with a broken screen for a cheap price.. my question is, can i just replace the motherboard part where the MC is located, or must i replace the broken screen on the working one.. the screen replacement is a lot harder but i think it wont give me to much trouble.. i am wondering if the motherboard replacement will work without any IMEI or other parts of the phone conflicts.. have never done that before. If someone has, please tell me your experiences.
Both phones waranties are useles and tryed already. They are both unlocked euro phones gt i9000.
Thanks.

The NAND flash is located on the mainboard which is separate from the screen.
You don't need to touch the display with its electronics - there are some display controllers.
Just change the mainboard and that's all
Thank you i thought so too. i had already put my phone apart 3 times, just to see if by some miracle nand would start working again stupid i know, but i was quite desparate..
hi does anybody know where can i find a mainboard for i9000 i googled with no result. i have my screen been replaced. now there are a few grey horizontal lines on it. the strange thing that they dissapere when i plug charger and when the temperature goes up. and sho
wing back when the phone goes colder. in the lab i was told that the problem is in the connector on the main board. and there is nothing to do with it. so can anybody tell me where to find a replacement? thank you.

[Q] HTC One M7 Touchscreen Doesn't Work Partially On the NEW SCREEN

Hello guys! Saddly for me my touchscreen stopped working but the thing is that i bought a new screen assembly but i still have the same problem and the same spot doesnt work (on the digitzer, lcd works perfectly). I really dont know what to do i have tried to google my problem but people always solve there problem by replacing the screen and i did the samething and still nothing. I'm running the latest stock rom from at&t now but i have tried to flash viper rom and cleamrom, etc... but i have gotten the same result
i tought that it could be the digitzer connector on the motherboard but it looks new so i cant find the problem...
To be more specific the spot thats shown on the image does work but when i touch it, it shows that iam using 2 fingers when iam only using 1 its really anoying when i use the keyboard. When i touch that spot, the phone starts to select things arround the "dead" spot.
My apologies if i have made some dumb mistakes in the text, i'm from belgium so english isnt my mother laguage.
IF theres no liquid damage.
The phone was working just fine, then mysteriously stopped working in one spot. I would guess replace digitizer (aka glass) But if replacing glass has yielded the same result. Now it gets tricky. Now its either a board level issue or a problem with the Kernel interfacing with its hardware.
Since not a stock device and has been rooted with custom ROM its possible those software mods might have affected it.
My suggestion is do your best to go back to completely stock and hope for the best.

Thanks but iam already on stock i have used RUU to reset the phone, same result. And liqued damage is possible any idea what would help?
Or is it possible that the connector on the board is broken?
As you start to eliminate your possibilities the fixes become more difficult.
If your back on stock everything and still bad then its going back to board level stuff. Meaning the connector on the board or something along those lines.
If thats the case then the fix is near impossible.
Might want to get a good strong magnifying glass out and see what you can find.

My HTC One has a 1/4" section that doesn't respond to touch at all.
Hi
I have the same problem in my HTC ONE E9 PLUS where a longitudinal line along the screen does not respond. Does anybody find a solution for that please?

Most likely a faulty digitizer, replace your lcd assy.

Any rom without hardware check?

Hi,
I am looking for a ROM without any hardware test on BOOT.
I have a small problem. if anyone can help me out please help.
Recently I cracked my screen and hence went to a local shop to get it replaced. Once replaced my phone was not booting. I thought it maybe a software issue. Later I realized this happens due to hardware and maybe some connection is not made, like the headphone jack.
I opened my nexus and checked. Turns out that guy dropped my light sensor which is close to the front camera. There is no light sensor now in the phone. I cannot go back to him.
Can anyone please suggest me some ROM which skips this hardware test? or any other solution please?
No need to open multiple threads. You already have one here:
