[Q] How can I figure out what application is accessing my GPS? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone. I was wondering how can I find out what application is calling onto the GPS. I haven't installed anything new, and I've found my GPS icon flashing all day today and I have NO clue what it could be! So is there any way to figure out what application is calling the GPS?
Thank you very much.

Even if you haven't installed any third party app.. Weather, Google home page, social hub, latitude, places all these apps will keep updating the location. If you want to disable this better check off the the location service.

[Q] how to i get screen to stay on for maps

umm
Not the best answer but here goes. I can't get it to stay on for google maps, but it's easy for google navigation.
Tasker on the market... Great program, its a paid app but well worth it. You can set up start up for any app, trigger-maps=screen stays on. And on exit it goes back to normal settings.... Great great app! Endless custom settings

Location problems?

My phone can not determine my location over WiFi or mobile internet. It does not work with the HTC weather widget on blinkfeed (just constantly shows no weather data available and annoys the **** out of me) Google maps or Google news and weather. All settings have been configured the only thing I haven't tried is GPS.
Im really annoyed as location apps were great on my s3 and my last HTC phone the hd2.
Anyone suggest what might be causing the problem? I wouldnt mind manually typing my location in but that doesn't alter (or at least I can not find a way to) the blinkfeed weather widget
Any help appreciated, I have had a good look through this forum so sorry if this is duplicated elsewhere.

I did have a problem in the first 24 hours of use - no location showing. Eventually I checked all locations settings were <ON> and then ran maps. For the first time I saw the GPS icon flashing and I did get a location.
Hope that helps....
Yeah a hard reset sorted it. Don't know what happened the first time, all settings were exactly the same as the second time I set it up, weird.

I had the same problem. Made sure location services were all checked and then just soft resetted and it finally appeared.
Disable the Fast Boot option in Settings. Then reboot.
Worked for me.

I've tried all above, but no success.
It worked for 10+ days, then last 4 days I only get "MY LOCATION" or "CURRENT LOCATION" in BF or Weather app.
It was very good first ten days, and extremly precise. I'm still on .13 version.
Anybody still having this issue or similar??
It's a known Google problem with about 6 threads here discussing the problem. Google is working on a fix.

Disabling Fast Boot worked for me too
My Blinkfeed only has United States option
Im in the UK and I am pretty sure my One is an import. It only has United States in the Blinkfeed drop down so I get no UK topics and services.
Does anyone know a solution?
Much appreciation

[Q] Google Maps Now Requires a New Setting?

On my old device, the HTC Evo 3D, the setting "Location & Google Search" under the Location setting in the Settings menu did NOT need to be checked to use the GPS in Google Maps, Google Nav, etc. The case still remains the same even after my phone was disabled and I use it via WiFi.
On my new HTC One however, that setting NEEDS to be turned on, otherwise it doesn't work and says I need to enable it. Both of my phones have the same version of Google Maps.
Can anybody chime in? Thanks!
Just enable it?

Damn shame Emui doesn't have within it's settings an option for "WiFi control history". Samsung does. , I was looking for it myself recently.

Ok what is "data usage this month"? I click more and I can then pick Mobile data or wifi. Then below shows me day, week and month. Could that help? Its under Wireless & networks,Data usage,Data usage this month. Now I never looked to see what is at the moment using WIFI.. I think thats what your talking about. Should be a APP for that yes?
