It's super amoled and can drain battery but not so much. Because you have so bad score i guess you works on android 2.3.3? Try to update to 2.3.6, the bettery works much longer on sleep and i think in stress it will be too good.

It could be your rom some how... but how about charge your battery to full, then go to recovery and wipe battery stats. Carry on charging for another 30 mins. Maybe that will fix it.

I'm on ICS Roms these days but on like every rom its a drain. I did go back to 2.3.6 but i like ics so much more i more likely stay on ics.

[Q] Batterylife issue, can't find any threads that help

There's not a single thread out there that has helped me with my damn battery life that I've been able to find. I'm sick of hearing, "did you search first?" Yes, I searched first. I didn't find anything that helped, that's why I made a new thread.
Anyways, I've tried apps, widgets, calibrating, deleting batterystats.bin, flashing different roms, kernels, modems, and even a new battery. Not a single thing has made my phone last through the day, and it's getting to the point where I'm about to flash back to stock, and forget about it. I need to be able to use it when I need it, not put it back in my pocket because I'm afraid of draining the battery. Honestly I'm not sure if the battery issue is rom related, so If that doesn't work, I may just get a different phone. I need to not have to charge my phone every 6 hours. Does anyone have any idea how to improve battery life on this freakin' thing? 6-7 hours on light usage is not enough. To put it in to perspective, I get 10-15% battery drain in STANDBY per hour. Serendipity 6.4 was a little better than 7, but not much. still within that 6-7 hour range. Is there anything else I can try? Anything at all? I went from 7 back to 6.4 because I thought Android System was draining my battery, but it didn't really do anything. I'm open to everything at this point. Voodoo, cult magic, anything.
Edit: reading through my message, I wanted to clarify that I am very grateful for your help, I hope I didn't imply otherwise.

I don't know what that is heh
Have you tried Juicedefender? It's helped me immensely. Other than that, I could suggest getting an extended battery, if you're willing to cope with a lumpy cappy. I'm too noob to know how to fix this problem other than by using the brute force route, but it's worth a shot.

Well, battery usage shows just about nothing... I was using 6.4 but after it did nothing for my battery life, I went back to 7. Now the android system thing is back but I'm getting the same battery life.
Here's what it shows under battery usage for today:
Display 29%
Android System 25%
Android OS 10%
Google Services 7%
Cell Standby 6%
Fancy Widget 4%
Handcent SMS 3%
Battery Graph 2%
Phone Idle 2%
JuiceDefender 2%
Dialer 1%
and that's it.
if you start seeing android system and android os that high, shut down, yank battery and let it sit for a few minutes. then replace and start up. should help with that and improve battery life.

The problem is, I'd be doing that every 15 minutes. It boots up already taking up more than 10%. I just did exactly what you said, and it booted at 23% for system and 3% for os.

flashed cyanogenmod 7, and turned off mobile data and wifi and just left it on idle for like 2 hours after resetting the batterystats.bin and rebooting... i uninstalled juicedefender because it was actually USING batter... *shrug* and left it that way... well, I opened battery left and looked at it and saw that it would die at like 5am... well, i was disappointed... until I noticed it was 5am, 26 hours from now. That's notibly longer than any battery left stat I've seen since I started noting battery issues... So... Yeah. I think I'll stick with CM7 for a while hehe. After I get an idle benchmark, I'll start using it more. Thank you for your help.
do you live in a poor 3g area?
the problem could be that the phone is constantly looking for a good connection and cant find one, causing massive battery drain

I was just going to say the same thing. If your phone is constantly trying to establish a connection, is alway searching, it's using up lots of juice. Same if you've got gps enable or wifi on. If it's looking, it's active and battery's being used.
Another thing you can try which helped me is to call art and get another free battery if your phone is still under warranty. The new battery I have seems to last almost twice as long as my old one. Of course make sure that the android os isn't eating the battery and mine last a while. Just a suggestion.

Battery's discharging very fast...

Hi,
I have CyanogenmodMod 10. I don't if it's normal but my battery is discharging faster than my Galaxy Ace. In my settings I saw that the screen is taking 78% of the battery. I don't know if that's normal.
How can I check if everything's normal ?
Thanks.
Use BetterBatteryStats - you can find it in the forum. Feel free to ask further questions regarding it.

What and where am I looking for exactly in this app ?
I suggest that you lower your screen brightness or set it to automatic so that the screen dims itself in night, you may also try out apps like Juice Defender, they also increase the battery backup by turning off the data when it's not in use !
Hope it helps !
And if I helped just press the Thanks button !

Hey I suggest that you try to lower your screen brightness as I said before, also try to change your CPU frequency settings a bit. :good:
Yes I'll try that but I also want to know if there's something weird on my battery usage.
Thanks for your help.

There is nothing weird with your mobile, but the hard fact is that in terms of battery backup Android is a looser
And to thank me just press the thank you button !!!
Maybe it's the 3G (data).
I had an Galaxy Ace and the battery was much longer but I wasn't using 3G with my Galaxy Ace. I didn't expect that the 3G was so solicited by the battery.

Help with battery drainage (stock ROM)

Hello.
I was a PA 1.6 and PA 2.X user since last week, when I decided to install stock ROM to check if battery life would improve.
I've been trying different ROMs and realized that battery performance was worst,so I decided to check stock ROM to see if I could get any improvents in battery life.
Yesterday I installed SGN_XX_OXA_KJ1_FACTORYFS stock ROM, but during the night I lost 50% of the battery (I didn't turn Flight Mode on) and now it's draining at 3.5%-5% battery per hour.
I reinstalled the RADIO, but I cannot understand how stock ROM + RADIO can have this much of battery drainage.
Any ideas on what can be happening and how can I solve this?
The only thing left is to format all SD partitions and pray.
try slim bean with sync off and just 3g
and check ur battery
if it presists then try flashing xxlrk or xxlr1 modem

Battery drops!

Well, this is weird, I bought recently a i9000b guys, my old Galaxy Ace rusts in peace now... well, flashed it (took some long hours) and now i'm using CyanogenMod 10, but here's the probelm
It has been charging the entire night, then this morning I took it and went to take a breakfast, I've been chatting and stuff but it got laggy, so I decided to restart it (apparently with 72% of battery aprox), when i checked it again after the restart I saw 4% of battery. What? Is that possible? I must say that I haven't calibrated the battery, I tried to check if charging it with the phone off and had a very low battery level. What could it be? Battery Calibration? Rom? Kernel?
ROM: [ROM][LINARO][JDQ39E][22/05] **C-RoM Mix v22 *&* C-RoM v3** [ Stable & Fast... ] [
Kernel: Semaphore 2.9.0 (for i9000b)
Thanks
PS: I turned on again the phone and there was a 80%~ of battery
Do one thing might solve:
Switch off your phone
Rwmove battery
Press power button for 15-30 sec
Insert battery back and reboot

Done, let's see if doesn't happen again. Anyway, should I wipe the battery stats? I haven't yet...
I will be doing tests because it happened to me yesterday, I got a random shutdown and the battery was empty, so I'll be looking for that.
Any another solution is welcome, thanks anyway :good:

Can't it be the kernel?

Battery drain problems are usually kernel related, yeah. When I tried CM10.1 I noticed a hell of a lot of battery drain as well (then again, 3 year old 1500mAh battery, 3 year old SGS, can't expect miracles).
Try using any of the 4.2 kernels in the forums (Semaphore, Mackay, Devil, CyanCore). I've tried most of them (usually Semaphore) and they're all pretty good for getting that extra bit out.
Aonther option would be to switch rom. Some devs have made roms with pretty good battery life considering the extra ram consumption on JB.

No. Just wait some time, I think that battery needs to calibrate itself with charging. I tried CM11, in first it was awfull, after 2-3 charges it is becoming usable. But still CM10.2 and CM11 based ROMs are battery eaters. Try CM10.1.
Thanks very much for y quick answers ...i hope that it can to remedy the battery okey but i try too cm 10.1 ...thanks again :good:
Next time when you flash rom or even update to official firmware make sure your battery is always 100%, not 80, not 90 but 100%... I had problem with discalibrated battery cause i update from Ginger Bread to official Samsung Jelly Bean firmware and my battery gone crazy... Try charge-discharge couple of times as shut-down says... This problem could be a swollen battery too cause you say that your phone turns off when you are at 25-28%... To be sure that your battery isn't swollen, turn your phone off and make this steps:
step 1: Take the battery out of the phone.
step 2: Put it on a level (flat) surface.
step 3: Try spining the battery, if it spins freely than it's swollen, if it doesn't spin it's good and try this on the bouth sides of the battery.

Battery caliberation problem. caliberate using battery caliberation app or delete batterystats file
Discharge to 0%, full charge to 100%. And leave it some time (don't plug off your charger), maybe hour and more.
Type this in Terminal editor: cat /sys/kernel/abb-chargalg/eoc_status
And wait untill it says the real EOC reached.

i was having the same issue with Carbon 4.4.2 build 3, i did this:
*Uncharged the phone until 12-15%
*Rebooted phone 7% battery (every time i rebooted i losted 5% no matter what)
*Charged phone good 4 hours and then ran Battery Calibration APK (battery Calibration was showing 4120mha)
*Rebooted left phone alone 15 minutes ran Battery Calibration APK again (battery now was showing 4245mha)
*Ran greenify, hibernated almost all apps except whatsapp (bug with that was launching Player pro instead)
*Disconnected phone went to settings/performance changed:
Cpu Governor to :Abyssplug
Minimum CPU freq: 200mhz, Max: 800, set on boot.
I/O Scheduler: Deadline,set on boot.
Memory Managment: Zram to 10%, Allow purging of assets and KSM, also 16bit transparency.
i had 100% battery from 1am to 5am (whatsapp, fast for facebook, player pro, traffic racer, heavy wifi, screen never went off) at 4:35-40 i had 57% battery, to 5am i was having 55%, slept til 11am from that on i haven't used my cellphone too much but i have 35% current battery...for me its okay since i alway have a backup battery.
