Hi, I recently installed AOKP build 31 (did a full wipe before install). When I tried to add apps to home screen, the screen auto rotates when long pressing the apps. It is quite annoying because I am not able to select any app. It also happened when I tried to add widget to home screen. Anyone had the same problem?
OK, problem solved after a reboot
Screen auto rotates
Just installed build 31 after a full wipe as well last night. The screen may have moved slightly on the 1st icon I attempted to place on the home page, but it didn't appear difficult to resolve. I simply selected the icon again and moved it to the page/screen I originally intended to place it on.
My home screen didn't rotate at all when I attempted to place a second icon/widget on the page. Unless I'm missing the scope of your question, you may have to simply try with additional apps until you master the timing of it all.

Had the same problem here and reboot fixed as well.
Sent from my aokp_tenderloin using xda premium
Same here, but a reboot fixes it. It's a problem with the launcher, not the rom. Switch to nova launcher to fix it.

My launcher (ADW Launcher Ex) resets about 100 times a day.
In fact, it resets every single time I use the "back" button or the "home" button to return to the home screen.
I.E. reboot phone. Unlock screen. I open handscent messaging app. I close the app (hitting back) and the entire launcher resets/reboots and lags my phone terribly.
I have no idea how to stop this.
I really don't want to do a full reset (have over 200 apps)
I am on Darky Rom 2.3.3 - 10.1 - Kernel Dark Core 2.4
I have about 7 or 8 widgets on my home screens too.
Anyone know how to stop this ?
Please someone help. I will donate $5 via paypal if you can fix this.
yup i'm using the same launcher and i notice it reset quite often.

Does this happen with other launchers? If doesnt, try reinstalling adw ex. Disable "Wallpaper Hack" in adw settings. Is your ram full all the time? Maybe system is running out of ram(samsung gingerbread problem). Also delete your taskiller apps and try Juwe´s ram script. Hope this helps
Solution
still someone need fix for this ?
spend long time searching for this resets...
i almost have the same issue with the go launcher.
after every reboot i have to assign the home screen to go launcher. it doesn't remember its previous setting...
I'm running CM 7.1 on my Nook Color... I just wiped and reflashed from Rom Manager because of some issues i had with a bad app install/uninstall.
Now whenever the device reboots, the wifi is off at startup.
Any ideas of why this might be happening?
Thanks!

There is a bug in airplane mode in CM7 that causes the wifi behavior you describe. I use the power widget to avoid going to settings and turn wifi on every time I need to reboot. To add the power widget, place finger on your screen (home screen) until a menu pops up. Select Widgets. Select power control (scroll down. Add other toggles such as flashlight,Bluetooth, etc. You can also remove compass and sync too. You can also size the widget, make it horizontal or vertical. Once it appears on your screen you can long press widget and drag it anywhere.

Thanks for the idea on the widget. I was looking more for a actual fix, as this is very annoying to have to do every time i turn it on.
I would have posted in the Developer forum but im a new member and it wont let me.
If anyone has a fix that is done in the terminal please let me know.

Hello!
I've got quite an annoying problem with a freezing menu, such as to change ringtones and messaging sounds and etc. After pressing the button to enter a menu, it automatically freezes, especially ones with lots of options, however scrolling still works and pressing on the screen would still activate one of the items from the menu. The only solution I use is to change my phone from a horizontal position to a vertical position and vice versa, which gets the menu moving for a bit before freezing again. This happens to most menus on my phone, especially the ones that consist of a list.
I'm using Owain's "[ROM][CM9][JUL13-Build80] Domination - Taking Cyanogenmod to the next level" and have experienced this problem since it's installation. I never had this problem with other roms such as temasek's CM7 and Nova HD.
I would be grateful for any assistance.
Thanks!
I don't have Domination atm but i remember that it was a common problem. If i recall correctly, there is no solution.
I think that it wasn't present in either build 77 or 79. Thats was quite a long time ago so it might be fine in any of the two or both and then problem would only be in 80.
Go look at the changelogs (buried here and there) in the thread. If some of the most recent stuff aren't necesseties than i suggest downgrading or switching rom.
THX for this thread
I've just flashed CWM Recovery to my HP Touchpad and installed the CM9 latest nightly build. Once that installed and the dual booting was working fine, I flashed the AOKP 4.2.2 and the relevant Gapps from goo.im.
Since booting to AOKP, I'm having issues with my desktop. I can't press and hold an app on my home screen to drag it to a new location. I'm using Nova Launcher, I used the stock launcher to see if it was Nova, but I had the same issue. I also cannot delete home screens. I cannot hold an app in the drawer to add it to the home screen.
When I press and hold to do any of the activities I mention above, the screen rotates the orientation for a few seconds and then reverts, but does nothing else. This orientation occurs even though the Touchpad is stationary.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a resolution or shed some light as to why this may have occurred?:crying:
Since I recently switched to a Galaxy S10+, I donated my Mi A2 to my girlfriend. After I fully wiped my phone, she installed it like any other new phone and finished the wizard. All her apps got reinstalled nicely and everything looked nice.
But now the home button (3 button nav) sometimes just stops responding to a single press. When I hold the button I do get the Google Assistant as expected, but single press doesn't take me to the home screen. After a reboot everything is back to normal, but only for a while. The button does show the colored dots when I press it.
What could be wrong? It looks a bit like some process is blocking it to prevent exiting a wizard or something (I had it once on a Pixal tablet, which thought I had the setup wizard open), but the back button does work as expected and I can navigate using different methods.

you need to.provide more info to get the right answer ..just use full screen navigation ...in settings try reassigning it different actions to see what happens ...but sounds like the delay between single press / long press for assistant is what is screwing you ...i disabled long press for assistant cos it kept giving me the assistant when i was trying to get home ....
but still.hard to say since you have 0 info about your problem here
The problem is that I don't have much more information as well. It's hard to reproduce the issue. We tried pinning and unpinning an app, opening different apps, changing the gestures, but nothing seems to trigger the issue.
I also tried gesture navigation, but that doesn't have a gesture for going directly back home. Also I think it's not possible to reassign the buttons on stock rom.
When I used the phone I never had this issue.

on my phone if i swipe up from bottom i go straight home ... by more info i mean
1. device/rom/version/root status/ launcher/ ...stuff like that
2.relevant fixes you tried ...
3. short video of when it happens
anyway .. i don't understand because you can choose what actions you want to happen in relation to the gestures ..so if you wanna go home in one shot assign that action to a specific gesture
have you ACTUALLY tried my fix of disabling google assistant ..so you don't trigger assistant or freeze by holding home button too long ..
try assigning double tap on home to go home ..as a workaround
The phone has no customizations at all: stock rom (Android One), no root, default Xiaomi launcher.
Version: Android 10, march security update (up to date according to Xiaomi)
With the gestures I can choose between:
- navigation using gestures
- navigation using 2 buttons (this is selected)
- navigation using 3 buttons
I have tried the first option. Swiping up does indeed go to the home screen when I'm in an app. But not to my default screen. Like when I swiped right to a different home screen page, it doesn't return to the first one.
I will try disabling opening the Assistant using the home button.

you should downgrade to pie because in 10 many people have lag , ui feezing and later on random reboots.. i think you will find in a month or two the UI will freeze up ..like what is happening now may be a "mini" freeze
pie is stable.. im on miui 12 official pie for wayne and wow am glad i dithed android1 and gave up my obsession of having 10 ..
I just upgraded because Xiaomi pushed the upgrade. And my girlfriend doesn't know how to downgrade.
Besides, I have been using the same phone with the same Android version for a few months without any issues. It's only since she started using it. That's why I was thinking about some wizard/setup preventing the use of the home button, which we had a few years ago on a tablet. But that was blocking more buttons then, so not exactly the same.

ok no worries... maybe the work around will work ..have tried to plau around with lawnchair as launcher and using its own built in gestures to trigger home
