Backlight levels & battery

I was just wandering what level most of you set your backlight to and how it affects battery life. Also, do you have auto-backlight set to 'on'?
Just trying to find a good balance between brightness and battery and so thought your experience would really help.
Thanks,
S.
Set to Auto here. No problems with battery life so haven't tried adjusting manually. I personally like the way it manages the back-light depending on ambient light

[Q]automatic backlight???

what is the main use of this in CM settings? does it saves battery when activated??
These are options that allows you to set the automatic brightness. Phone will set the brightness according to ambient light.
Becouse of max brightness consume much electricity, allow the phone to decrease it when it's dark grant energy saving, then it saves battery.

gingerdx brightness

how to lower the brightness of gingerdx, even at lowest it is very high which is draining my battery.
Settings -> CyanogenMod Settings -> Display -> Automatic backlight
In there you will find everything you need to tinker around with it.
And I can't imagine that "even at lowestest settings it's draining the battery" - it looks more like you have a problem with either the hardware of your phone, or a dying battery or some other configuration problem as you seem to post around that each and every ROM you try has a battery problem for you.

How do I setup lux auto brightness for my HTC one?

Title says it all, I want to set it up so I'll be able to see in the daylight without changing my brightness all the time but save on battery life

Full Brightness is actually 96%

Can anyone also confirm this please? If you go to settings > Display > Uncheck "Auto" brightness setting > set the slider all the way to 100%. Then, go to Settings again > Battery > Optimize battery usage. Let it analyze and then read the first row. Does it also say "Screen brightness set to 96%, set it to auto to save power?".
On my previous P10 LITE, it says "Screen brightness set to 100%, set it to auto to save power". It's either a bug or some weird setting I don't know of that can let you select full brightness.
Show's 96% for me too.
Weird, but makes no difference to anything!
I was thinking that the phone never actually goes to 100% brightness and it might make a difference in very bright places. We can't find out for sure if this phone has a locked brightness for battery saving purposes or if it's some sort of bug. I've emailed them but I don't have high hopes of receiving an answer.
Ok, so I received an answer from Huawei. They said that if I turn off the Auto check box and turn the slider all the way up, it is at maximum brightness. I am not sure if they understood what I meant but that wouldn't be the first time .
Also, on a side note, they mentioned that if I use apps with white background, the brightness changes automatically in order to improve battery life. I thought it only did this when there was bright light outside. The strange thing is that this in-app brightness fluctuation happens even if I uncheck the auto setting, but only when I use a custom brightness setting and not full brightness.
Such a strange feature, I guess the "disable" option nowadays means only what they want it to mean...
