Well guys....i think this problem stems from me prematurely removing the usb cord. I Understand that. But here is the other couple of predicaments. lol Ok i'm on ICS Stunna 4.3 ......well after something went wrong i'm unable to "repair" my internal storage. Everything still works smooth....but i can't add things to my internal card. Every time i hook up to the computer it says it needs to scan and fix the card.Well the problem is starts to fix it.....but never does....progress bar never finishes. Tried this on 3 different computers. Nothing. So try to install a different rom....i have some on my internal and external. Always aborts in cmw....never finishes. So on top of all this Stunna has started acting odd. Likely read errors.....but problem is i can't switch roms! lol I have tried everything. I was wondering should i format both cards? But if i do that how can i back everything up if i can't access my card? Any help would be appreciated guys. Hoping i don't have to Odin back to stock.
Cliffs- Internal storage won't repair on any computer-Can't install anything in CMW because of it
I have the exact same problem now, as you do. CWM can't install any .zip files, I can't flash Abyss kernel, so it's just stuck in that end.
I installed ICS Stunner 4.5 coming from GB with full wipe. This happened to me after I tried to copy some files over to external SD Card and it failed, seemed like the phone froze (SOD), so I figured flashing another modem would do the trick (read it in ICS Stunner thread's 1st post). Tried to transfer the file over a cable, but same thing happened. After rebooting I just grabbed it from dropbox and installed the modem successfully. I went ahead to try and fix the mounting problem, so I plug in the cable and it offers me to scan and fix both partitions (internal and external). External card finishes successfully, but not the internal one. And after that I'm in the same situation as OP.
Any ideas anyone?
Enable usb debugging(setting-appl-development)
Connect to pc
Select to copy file to fr computer from notification
You will find separate drive letter for int n ext card
Rt click on int sd card letter n format(you can backup imp data to pc b4 this)
Hope it shud b fixed

Gonna try it now. Have lots of pictures to backup first tho
EDIT: Same thing happens as with scan and fix procedure. It starts and just sits there, nothing happens. When I try to stop "USB Storage in use" it just shows the spinner and hangs in there. Only holding the power button helps solve this. My guess is something in the internal SD card partition is broken... just can't say what or how to fix it.

Same problem^^^^ Not sure what to do about all this
Short story:
Formatting didn't work.
Long story:
Okay, so following the idea to format the internal sd card's partition, I achieved it not through Windows format dialog, but through the half-broken CWM. Both my SD Cards were formated (internal and external) in the process. So since I used the external one for backing up important info I had to use [email protected] UNDELETE to get it back (after booting to ICS). In the process the native SD Card mount service seemed like broken, I had to perform a few hard resets. Hangs seemed to occur whenever I tried writing to one of the cards. I downloaded multi-mount SD card app from Play Store and transfered AbyssKernel's .zip and now when I try to install it from CWM it says
Installing: /sdcard/AbyssNotekernel42RedTouchOriginalLogo.zip

I don't know if this will help or not but give it a try.
Enter into the download mode and flash any stock firmware using PC Odin. This way you don't need to access any of the cards. After flashing stock ROM, try fixing the internal SD again and if it still doesn't fix, send in your note to Samsung for repairs.
Sounds too simple to be working though but worth a shot.

Well for now the phone works, but it's stuck on ICS Stunner. I was thinking to use PC Odin or Mobile ODIN, but what if it doesn't work because the partition is corrupted in some way (as it is now, because CWM can't flash anything).
I'd like to hear more insight before I go the odin-way

I'm downloading an old GB rom myself..
While I am, I can share a thought: I feel that ICS is not yet ready.. at least not for me. Feels nice and fast but buggy USB transfers is a big no-go for me. Also after trying AOSP derived ROM, I decided to wait for a good Samsung edition ICS because all the little tweaks add a good feeling to the experience, I tend to miss them on AOSP or AOKP or w/e

Yeah. After quite a time of failed attempts we succeeded. ODIN > Stock GB ROM > ROOT + CMW > Anything you like. No re-partitioning was needed in the process
i have same problem but more complicated. iam on stock GB and its happened after flash bad kernel
the case in detail's :
i flashed wrong kernel on my device previously and now when iam trying to flash another kernel even use ODIN or CWM everything going well and completed but when check i found the old kernel still. i tried many times with same results and no error .
- system can read/write/mount the internal memory but the new pasted files deleted after restart. external card behave normal and i can preform flash using files pasted on it.
- in CWM wipe/format/flash operations running well but no effect on device even restarted to CWM only.
- device has yellow triangle. is it effected?
- the devil kernel stacked in machine is 2.6.35.7-gb4846d2 [email protected] #2 and the build no. is jpkj4
system running normal but cannot keep any changes i do if restarted.
-system rooted and no problem with root
-can access adb
- ODIN behave same CWM, operation work but no change.
can anyone help me guys?
i did repartition the memory useing PIT for note butno change also
thank you all in advance

Hi,
I flashed the Pre rooted JP3 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748131 and then installed the [UTIL] One Click Lag Fix 2.0 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=751864
I used the phone for a couple of hours and then all of a sudden everything kept crashing.
I booted into the clockwork recovery and reset to factory and then was not able to boot.
I tried flashing back to I9000UGJH2 with Pit512 and Odin and after it flashes successfully the phone starts I see the galaxy S I9000 and then it shows me a grey battery sign and then a busy circle sign and then gray battery and keeps repeating.
When I boot without the usb cable it shows me the Galaxy I9000m sign and then just turns off.
When I tried reflashing the JP3 from the site above and after it finishes it comes to the Android System Recovery <3e> and displays the following message:
Update Media please wait
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0) (No such file or directory) E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount SDCARD:"
Your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions
copy default media content failed.
When I boot it moves past the Galaxy I9000m screen shows me the galaxy screen with animation and sound, the screen then goes of leaving me with a black screen and the buttons lit.
I cannot format the internal SD card and I cannot seem to get the hone to boot into android, I can boot into downloader.
Any help would be appreciated
P.S. I have ticked the repartition option in Odin
Odin should theoretically work. I've never clicked repartition myself however a lot of people do seem to recommend it.
If you're out of things to try and you want to give the latest (not publicly released) version of Heimdall (my Odin flashing software alternative) a go let me know and I'll PM you the download link.
That gray battery with a spinning circle sounds like the charging screen when the phone is off. Have you tried and let it charge up over night?
The battery is full.
I managed to get the I9000UGJH2 rom up and running by inserting an external sd card.
But here are some issues:
Once booted neither of the SD cards are recognized
If I power down / reboot phone, it will not start again, it shows the I9000m screen and turns off.
I suspect whatever the one click lag did to my SD cards needs to be reversed.
Ok,
So after tonnes of playing around with the device. I can confirm that it has something to do with he internal SD card.
I need to somehow format the entire internal SD card so that even Odin can see it. I tried using the stock recovery and clockworks with no luck.
It just wont see the card.
Any suggestions?

I first installed JP2 and was able to get it working. Then I made an attempt to install JP3 but it didn't work. My phone screen kept on flashing i.e. off and on. I then went back and tried to install JP2. While I was installing it, I got an error message saying unable to mount sd card (similar to what rumy got). I am in the exact scenario as rumy and now i don't know what to do. It's a brand new phone and I am very scared.
Any ideas on what I can do now. I am installing JH2 as I write. Hopefully, that will work.

Well, I am still trying but no luck.
We need an adb expert / odin one to help us somehow repartition the internal sd card I think.
I believe with the lagfix on jp3 it got repartitioned and then corrupted.
I also think we should start adventuring outside this device as there might be more senior trouble shooters / experts who own other htc devices that might be able to help.
I used to get this on my htc dream try going back to original firmware the only I found it to work was rip a rom to pieces get misc.img then enter console via recovery and flash_image misc misc.img then something else but cant seem to remember think its mount-o rw,remount -r yaffs2 /dev/block/mmcblkop3 /system. dont quote me on this try typing the error into google

The lagfixes do not repartition anything so this is (most likely) an issue that is not related to the lagfix.
Try going back to somthing like JF3 with the 513.pit file and repartition enabled.
The exact same thing happened to me - installed JP3 then lagfix. Phone was unstable after so I tried to reflash via ODIN (with repartition) and no matter what I did I could not successfully reflash my phone or get it to boot.
Only solution - returned it to the store as a DOA and got a replacement device.
Upon further research, it is known that JP3 screws up the internal SDCARD. Marks it as read only or something like that - search google for JP3 sdcard for more details.
Bottom line - your phone is bricked. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
I wonder if this would help fix it.

That installs a different Linux distro underneath android and is totally unrelated! (Not to mention not doable in the state the phone is in)
OT: I don't believe you should give up quite yet. Try flashing a new firmware and afterwards, install Clockwork recovery!
From there you can format your internal SD. You will lose all your data but I strongly believe it will help fix your problem from what I have read here so far!
Edit: I added a warning to the flash guide in my FAQ for I9000M owners for now!

Why dont you try to use the odin 1 click downloader over in the captivate forums. I know that we captivate people are running the i9000 firmware with a stock captivate kernal under it. Worth a try.

I'm not sure what you mean. I am pretty sure he used Odin to flash the firmware. I think you are talking about the same program he already is using.
Damn. There are so many known traps out there, yet we don't have a compile of them anywhere. I didn't know that I shouldn't uninstall Google Talk until I actually did it. We need things like this in the FAQ.

"Do not uninstall google talk" is not something you need or want in an faq. It's called a frequently asked questions because they are frequent. I have never before seen someone who tried or even wanted to uninstall google talk (not to mention that this is a goggle os and removing central apps like that is bound to produce problems). And if you mess around with root like that you have only yourself to blame for not doing enough research!

Calm down and tell us exactly what you did. It sounds like the initial problems that occurred on early recovery. The download mode should still be reachable. I don't think recovery can completely brick your phone.

If you research this error via Google you will find several references to JP3 screwing up the permissions/structure of the internal SDCARD.
I spent several days trying to fix this issue on my phone and no matter what I did (Clockwork or no) I could not get the phone to reset/recognize the SDCARD.
As I said, my only recourse was returning the phone for a replacement. I really hope you find a fix but I think it unlikely.
Ok, so I have some corrupted files on my internal sd that won't let my phone boot normally and I was wondering if there's any way too completely wipe internal sd without being able to boot far enough for usb to be detected? Another words my phone freezes as soon as it tries to prepare internal sd. Also I can get into download and recovery just fine and I've already OC Jf6 back to stock. there was no lagfix involved so not sure what became corrupted. I know CWR is still on internal sd because I can still access it via 2e recovery reinstall pkgs. Any help greatly appreciated.

My suggestion would be to do a oneclick back to stock. It only requires you to be in DL mode not booted up. It will clear your phone, but Im not sure how different that clear is versus the "master clear" option. Either way youll be able to use your fone again if you do the odin oneclick back to stock.

The master clear in odin is the same as formatting your internal sd card. When you flash, everything gets deleted and overwritten except for the internal sd card. However, I don't suspect that his problem is stemming from a corrupt file, but something screwy with the OS. Reflashing will most likely solve his problem. Bite the bullet and do it!
Well people, I've done everything I can think of which consist of everything mentioned in this thread and I'm guessing something went badly wrong when I OC Jf6 back to stock the other day. When I can get it to boot all the way up it starts force closing tw launcher, phone, android, ect. and vibrating and the screen going on and off trying to restart processes so not sure what else to do short of refurbed warranty phone which I despise the idea of because I bought a new phone. But anyway thanks for all the help and if ya think of anything else I'll still have it a few more days.
In the Stock Recovery, try these two options:
Delete All User Data
Delete Cache Data
I'd recently flashed the Cognition new build. Yesterday morning I woke up (3 days later) and found that my phone was stuck at the white and blue AT&T screen.
I preformed the Odin 1-click (as I have many times in the past<I'm not a noob to Odin>) I got my phone into a reboot but now it gets stuck at the Galaxy S screen and then goes dark.
Naturally, I used Odin again with different degrees of failure.
1. Gets stuck at file analysis.
2. Gets stuck halfway through and a blue, green or black screen appears.
3. Stuck at the AT&T screen again.
I've used Odin about 25 - 50 times in the last twenty-four hours.
I've also used the other Odin using the I897UCJH2 PDA file that's provided.
The phone booted directly into recovery and gave this error:
E:Can't Mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(I/O error)
E:copy_dbdata_media: Can't mount SDCARD:
copy default media content failed.
And then it went back to the aforementioned black screen of hell.
I have build 1007 in case that's relevant.
I NEED HELP! Preferably a genius.
im having the exact same problem.
please help
I'm not sure if it matters too much, but it could certainly have had something to do with the kernel the newer Cognition would have installed when you upgraded to it.
Are you using I897UCJF6-final-OCD-REV or I897UCJI6-OCD-REV02-Low?
Most people have the first one, I would definitely try the second if it wasn't working.
The last option is to use Odin3 v1.7 (which you seem to have) and using that to update the kernel to a CM7 one and try to install CM7 onto your phone (and then reverting back to 2.1 stock if you wish).
Not sure if any of those options would work, but give me a yell if you need any help with doing any of the above.
You didn't disable the lagfix before you flashed, and your internal partition is still running ext4 but your data partition is back on efs. See this thread.
You will get your phone working, just be patient and go step by step.
Thank You Both
Thank you both but neither of those two options worked.
I was hopeful that the CM would fix it. I played around with that thought yesterday.
I know the difference between ODIN 1-click and ODIN3 v1.70. I've tried both and neither can get me back up and running. I'm hopeful that someone comes to the table with some resolution. This is frustrating.
EDIT:
Oh and I forgot, I've actually used both I897UCJF6-final-OCD-REV and I897UCJI6-OCD-REV02-Low
If you can get into recovery you can get into download mode.
If you tried one-click, what happens when you try to flash back to stock?
I'm able to get into Download Mode AND Recovery.
That's not the problem.
What happens is that when my phone reboots after ODIN 1-click or ODIN v1.70 my phone boots like its supposed to boot and then it gets to the Galaxy S screen and at that point it just craps out and the screen goes black after a few minutes. I think that the problem is that the internal sd card won't mount. When I'm in recovery it says:
"E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(I/O Error)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount SDCARD:
your storage not prepared yet. please us UI me nu for format and reboot actions"
When I try to format the internal SD using system recovery it says the same thing. I'm able to get my computer to recognize the internal sd card in recovery BUT when I try to access the drive it asks me to format the drive (INTERNAL SDCARD being the drive). It then calls me a sack of SH17 and the computer tells me that it's unable to mount the internal SD.
The problem seems to be that my phone has not mounted any memory what-so-ever. If I were able to perform a masterclear that might help but without it being able to get to the home screen that presents a problem.
It's sh177y because I'll have to end up returning it on warranty AND for that I have to mail it back to Samsung and wait for them to return it to me. I can't go that long without my phone. There are business things that I need this phone for.
Sorry that was just a tiny rant.
You did not read the thread I linked to.
You can't master clear through odin one-click? You should be able to do that without getting to the home screen. Try installing the specific driver package that comes with one click. When the partitions are formatted squirelly, the computer can't recognize the phone as such. Give that a try. You'll get there, be patient.
?
I'm not sure what I missed in that post. I've read and reread that post several times.
To masterclear I believed that you had to be able to get into USB Debugging. I tried to masterclear in both download and recovery mode. Those are the only options where Odin recognizes my phone.

Do you have any suggestions?
Sorry if I seem brash but I've been working on this for three days.
I wish you the best of luck.
ive had similar issues as described in this thread before on ONE pc i have and it can be a real PITA!
Im no real expert but i DO know the pc i use has voltage issues, basically it is running everything fine but things cant seem to charge or external devices tend to act weird occasionally off the usb. What i have done to minimize the similar issues you are describing is
1) plug the usb directly into the back of the pc, basically try different usb ports, some seem to get better voltage/stability.
2) unplug any external devices using usb *printers and whatnot*
3)Alternate PC *sorry this is my end all since i found i have no issues on my laptop*
It doesnt 'sound' like your phone is fubar'd but that your pc isnt getting the strongest connection. again this is comming from someone who had pretty much exactly what your describing and thats what i found
edit: also saw your warranty posting. From me on their 4th captivate and seems to be the final stable one *HORARY!* i can tell you that they will send you a new phone first and you send your defective one back..just do it in the timeframe or they WILL charge your att account
The only thing that I can think of is... Put a kernel that has CWM loaded on to it as recovery (maybe speedmod kernel), boot into recovert (and thus into CWM).
Try deleting all data/cache/etc on it, then try reboot it. Other wise, try and install a ROM straight from CWM (via .zip file, if you can somehow get it on your sdcard).
I'm stuck with phone pc-pc screen. I'v flashed multiple times and went back to stock too without issue. But now... I am stuck at that screen and no button combo works. Ordered a jig but that will take days to get here.. Dont know what to do. And its a work phone. lol Any other things to try?
I'm having a similar issue. I can get into download, and it's recognized by odin. But when I try to write or wipe it just sits at the zimage and does nothing. I've even left it over night to no avail.

can your pc still recognizes your phone and copy files towards internal sd card? can you enter 3e recovery? does you lost 3 button combo? file extensions uses lagfix should be one of the culprit and the clock values in the kernel in your previous rom not setting it to default (disabling lagfix and setting voltage and clock speed to default) when flashing back to stock as this would probably causes conflict with the stock 2.1 system. it is realy important not to neglect those default settings as this is the usual reasons for bricked phones that would corrupt the installation process. many people forgot this process due to excitement and ended up with a paper weight phone.
clemmie said:
You didn't disable the lagfix before you flashed, and your internal partition is still running ext4 but your data partition is back on efs. See this thread.

You just can't make it clear enough for some people.

You can't master clear through odin one-click? You should be able to do that without getting to the home screen. Try installing the specific driver package that comes with one click.

Clemmie,
"Try installing the specific driver package that comes with one click."
I'm not sure if you read my OP; I've already done that. I've actually done that several times. I understand how to use ODIN 1.00 and 1.70. I've been using them since they were released.
The lagfix/overclock issue that has been mentioned. I understand that. Fixing it is the problem.
Have you tried my solution? It's definitely worth a try :/
Tab is running CWM Recovery and Gingerbread Overcome Rom beta 1. Has been running fine for 3/4 days. Yesterday the tab froze and rebooted twice. Tab was left on last night while on charge. This morning when I unplugged the tab it was off, so I switched it on but it is stuck in aboot loop. The Galaxy Tab Samsung screen displays but then just reboots.
I can get in Recovery and have performed a data wipe and cache wipe, made no difference.
I made a CW backup on Tuesday and checked afetr that it was on the sdcard, it was. However if I now try and do a restore from CW it claims there is no backup...
Is my tab dead? Is my internal memory dead?
I'm comlpetely lost now....
Can you get to the flash zip option in recovery? If you can try to reflash the ROM from the SD card. Have to tried starting over using Odin? Hope this helps. Good luck.
I can get to the flash zip but they are not there? This is whats making me think maybe there is an issue with the internal memory?? The tab has been freezing and rebooting at least once a day for the past 2 weeks or so?
Haven't tried the odin route yet, will give that a go tonight
If you wiped everything then yes, that will delete your internal memory.
Follow the Overcome guide to use Odin and restock to the GB safe rom, then go back to Overcome.

Haha, itbis
All youll need is:
Odin 1.7
P1_hidden.pit
GB-stocksafe.zip (i think thats what its called)
And the Obercome beta rom.
Hope it works out well for you.
| Don't Revive Me Bro! |
this also happened to my tab (because i was playing around with my system files) i just reflashed the ROM and it was fixed, dont worry about it being bricked as long as you can still access CWM and download mode
hopefully you backed up
good luck! hope you get it fixed!
Think I could be in trouble. Followed the odin steps and got a big Red fail on Completing (Write) - Fail
Now whenever i turn it on all I have is a phone icon with a broken line going to a pc icon, cant even get into recovery!
Just flash dbdata. Don't worry, it's not bricked if you can still power it on and odin recognise it.

Try what again? I've tried switching off and on again several times? Do you mean try the odin steps again? If so I have twice and both times ended with the same Fail. I am really starting to think there is a serious issue with my internal memory...

There is a dbdata.tar file somewhere on roto rom's thread or chainfire's gingerbread rom. If it's a zip, extract it beforz. Flash it as pda.

I've had random reboots running a few different roms. It sucks and it does require a complete wipe. I end up going back to heimdall and reflashing all vzw images. Then I'm on a clean path to a fresh start.

Tab won't even switch on to alternative mode now other than when it's plugged into the wall socket power charger!?!?
Anyone able to offer an help? The tab will not boot unless it's plugged in charger, so when plugged into pc/laptop will not boot so I can't get to download mode..
Have managed to get it to switch on now but still getting the write failed when trying to flash the PDA. Have tried the GB Stock Safe and have tried the official samsung, both fail. This really does sound like an internal memory issue to me as everything seems to work fine until itgoes to write to the memory, does that sound feasible or am I just panicking?
One piece of advise...make sure that your battery is fully charged before you start anything....like if you plug it in will it show it charging...because if you start messing around with Odin or flashing and it dies from lack of power....then you will be SOL....I just had to send two into Samsung in the U.K. to get them flashed back to normal....but followed the Overcome rom instructions and both now have 2.3.3 android...Good luck!

Galaxy note what an update, and now won't even start. Help please!
My Samsung note was updated from gingerbread to ice cream sandwich using Samsung Kies. Then rooted and put on the Franco kernel. That's when the problems started: lag city! It couldn't even play fruit ninja or noogra nuts. Everything was slow. subsequent updates wouldn't work. Every few hours it would remind me, and I would click dismiss.
I've also been using an aftermarket battery. When the battery would get low, screen would activate all pixels and go very bright. At this point I would have to hold down the power button. Anyway, the last time I did this was the last time the phone was on. When I try to start the phone it gets to the Samsung bit after the opening flash intro, and the Samsung just glows and blinks. I've tried many times but it doesn't work. If left in the state, it gets very hot and will Drain the battery very quickly.
I am able to get to the clockwork mod recovery. What shall I do from here? I see there's an option to backup, but how would I restore from and what all my data be there? I have some really important data on the phone that I'm hoping to recover. In fact some of that data is worth several hundred dollars, because it's my proof for my friend who was defrauded by a ticketing agent.
Your help would be really appreciated everyone!
From what I can tell, you haven't wiped so it shouldn't be a emmc brick.
You said you could get to CWM recovery so from there you should first mount your phone to your pc and back up anything important like that "several hundred dollar" info.
Y'know. Just to be safe.
Then download a safe kernel such as Hydracore or Philz and put it on your phone.
Flash it, reboot recovery, then do all 3 wipes and see if that solves your problem.

Thanks again for the reply. When I do that and plug it in, the computer installs the device driver software correctly. However, I can't find the device either in "my computer" or in the device management/hard disk management console. I've tried this on two computers with the same result. The option to eject is in the tray icon (similar to other removable storage), but that's the only place it seems to be visible.
Flash a Philz kernel from franco recovery. Reboob recovery to get into Philz. Then mounts and storage /mount USB. PC will pick up both int & ext sd cards:thumbup:

Thank you for the responses again. I'm afraid I'm so much a noob I don't know what to do even after visiting that thread. I'm not sure which one to download.
I can check my ROM build in settings because I can't start the phone..
Previously had noted the following about my phone:
PDA:

Phone:
N7000XXKK5
CSC:

Thanks as always to you generous people willing to help out and save this NOOB.
PhilzDDLR9-INU.zip works on all ICS that I know of. They are interchangable amd backwards compatible.

this is GB and philz wont work..
seems u had the swiss firmware and u got updated to ICS.. so i am guessing now u have N7000XXLRI
download philz XXLRI..
i guess u dont have access to internal storage.. if u have a SD card .. put the kernel in it and then flash using cwm > install zip from SD
if no sd then put the phone in download mode and install using PC odin using PDA tab

Try hydracore 5.4 then. http://hecubus.com/xda/kernel/HydraCore/GL_HYDRACORE_v5-4_STD.zip
If you are unable to connect your phone to PC,
remove your sd card,
put it in a card reader or another phone that is alive
put the above downloaded kernel.zip on the sd card.
Now reinsert the sd card in your dead phone and
flash the kernel from the recovery.
in advanced menu, reboot recovery
Now wipe /data and reboot, you should be good to go.

Well, he can try rebooting w/o wiping data.
@OP: By the way what is the "critical" proof that you are talking about? Are they some photographs etc? In that case they are untouched during the wipe operation.
So this will allow me to boot the phone without wiping the data?

Sounds like you've got corrupted rw permissions on internal storage. It's quite common, but the only way I know how to recover is a reflash with correct wipes.

Well I finally got it repaired. Expanded said it would take two months after I mailed it back to the UK. Got it done locally egger where two places said it was the power chip. The good news is the pics are there there, but the data is gone. Do you all recon there is someway else to get the data. If the pics are there maybe the data still can be recovered?
Also, do you think it is dangerous to use whatever the local place flashed on to it? There are a few Chinese apps on it. System says it Systemis hardcore 5 and android 4.0.3
Thank you guys.
