USB OTG NTFS READ/WRITE on ICS Stunner 4.5 - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I'm on ICS Stunner 4.5. Great job made by neobuddy89. Thank you a lot.

I was missing reading NTFS drive from USB OTG.
I read the post of DarkAdrien at this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416923&page=16
I have installed ntfssd and connected my NTFS usb flash drive.
After I used Explorer to identify my USB Flash drive in /dev/block.
It can be sda1 or sdb1 or greater depending of the number of time you have already connected usb otg.
In ntfssd in preference -> mount device you put /dev/block/sda1 for example if you usb otg drive is sda1 in /dev/block/
In external storage you put the directory you have created to mount usb.
After you go back and click mount.
Now you can read your external NTFS drive using usb otg.
The problem is that i don't know how to properly unmount usb otg after having unmounted it using ntfssd.
I try umount with gscript but i still get "Carte SD retirée" prompt.

instead of using all those scripts... simply download drive mount app from market and use it to mount and unmount all otg... ntfs also works good...
tested working in stunner 4.3.

Thank you kvsandeepreddy !
drive mount app works fine on ICS Stunnner 4.5 also (tested only with ntfs) and quite simpler

Doubt
does this apk works for ROOTED MOTO E to connect a pendrive through OTG cable since MOTO E doesnt have USB debugging mode???
plzzz provide me an answer

USB OTG only FAT32 (not tested 16)?

Just tried USB OTG and can only read a 4GB FAT32 flash drive. 4GB NTFS is shown as blank (also tried a 64GB NTFS flash drive with same result).
Can anyone confirm this is the case for them too?
Try formatting them in exFat instead of ntfs
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
But then my car stereo will not read the flash drive
EDIT: Just tried ExFAT and it does not recognize it.

Might want to check the owners manual, ISTR that it mentions the format that OTG works with. Likely that it's FAT32 only
HTH
Looks like you can only read NTFS with root

[Q]Cannot read NTFS mounts. Rooted. USB OTG. Tried various mounters. Cannot read!

I have a USB OTG cable. Tried with various flash drives. All work using FAT32 and ExFAT. But not NTFS. Tried installing Paragon, Stick Mounter, USB OTG Helper. No dice. They get mounted but when I browse to the locations they say they mounted the drives to the folders are empty. What's weird is Paragon mounter actually lets me see the drives in it's app and even shows the files and folders. But I can't get to them!
Using Trickdroid 8.0.0. and also tried Teamviewer kernel that supposedly adds NTFS RW support.
Any ideas?

[Q] Does the USB Host reads NTFS usb drives (using cyanogenmod)?

Hi,
I would like to use an 64 GB USB pendrive with my nookhd+
I have the CyanogenMod 10.1 20130615 (not the latest one but thinking on upgrade soon).
As i want to store files bigger than 4Gb, i was thinking to format it to NTFS
Editing: should i format the USB on exFAT?
Is the nookhd+ capable of reading that filesystem by default?
Do i need any kind of software?
Thanks
Android by itself cannot read or mount the NTFS format, but there are some apps on the play store that say they allow android to mound and read NTFS.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paragon.mounter&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kwull.ntfsmounter&hl=en
Unfortunately I cannot say how well they work, I haven't tried these myself.

Hi, Thank you.
I tried Paragon and it didn´t work with an NTFS USB. I will try the other one, but I think I am going to stay with FAT so i can use the usb for multimedia on the NookHD+ and for portable programs on any windows.
