Horrible battery life

Hi,
as I got the phone I already had bad battery life, so I made a factory reset, maybe it helps. It didn't, 1 hour of playing(not even 3d game) ate 40% of my battery, on 2g network and 40% display brightness.
I decided to put on the EURO open(jun 25) and root the phone. I uninstalled a couple of system apps(car home, unused apps, etc), and also put on minfreemanager on agressive settings(to kill background apps consuming battery).
It helped absolutely nothing. I disconnected the phone from the charger in the morning around 6am, and by now with approx 20 minutes of gaming, downloading it's only 75% left.
I also discharged my battery 2 times to 0%, and turned on repeatedly to kill the battery, and once recharged while it was on, once recharged while it was off. Helped also nothing.

Please help, it would be such a good phone without this battery issue ((((((((

I installed it in the stock one, but it didn't help.
As I see I have problem when the phone is active, and I do something with it.
When my phone is sleeping it seems okay tho.
I played stupid zombies for 10 minutes just now, and it went down from 70% to 65%. This means every hour battery dies 30% which is actually 10% better then yesterday with the stock rom before this open EURO. It still is pathetic, that you can only play 3.3 hours and your battery is dead
My SGS was able to hold on at least until 5 hours with heavy usage.

I don't know guys my phone can last for 3 days only using for phone calls. Watching 2 hours of youtube can last 2 days.
Maybe because i don't use any Internet via mobile network.

I always charge the phone when the battery goes to 0%.
Autobrightness is always on.
Always use 2G networks and Data is disabled.
Useing Modaco Fear edition 12.6.
with baseband 622.
with TW Launcher.
5 Homescreens full of widgets.
and useing Watchdog Task Manager for monitoring what app uses cpu most.
So im very happy with my phone with heavy use i can still manage 24 Hours (Browsing, playing, Youtube). And maybe 6-7 hours of max usage.

I had about 5 hours of battery life on idle when I first got the phone brand new. I'm getting about 40 hours on idle now with Fear 12.6. I'm still testing whether underclocking cpu while idle will improve battery performance. But i dont use any app-killer and do NOT use JuiceDefender, it doesnt work well with this phone. Havent updated baseband, using stock _20110405, make sure you have matching RIL to baseband, so dont simply update baseband.

Try cronos Tom, it has been optimized battery driver, I've just bought brand new 2x 2 days back, my battery was lasting hardly whole day with 2-3 hour wifi usage then i read somewhere its a known issue with with 2x, not same like ur case, then I try various roms the only rom that gave me longest battery life on my phone is cronies mod, try it

Oh, I can assure you my battery doesn't last long on GingerDX. Maybe 7-9 hours before its gone

mine can last for 1 day.. lot of phone and texting.. wifi.. no game..

Battery Life depends on how you use the phone and installed apps.
Mine i use for less than an hour music, less than an hour game, sms message and rare phone calls. Last about 1 to 3 days.
If i play too long then its drains fast. I also noticed that it depends on the kind of game that i am playing. Some games can drain the battery a lot faster than others.

In GingerDx V019 + Stock Kernel, battery drain was quite high. But after going for GDX V020 + Alfs V05, battery life is quite good.

On stock ROM I can sometimes go up to two days...

Almost 2 days with 25%

I only using SMS and phone calling and my baterry could last for 2 days. Maybe X8's battery is bad afterall.

I'm using Stornmix V2.0.0 ROM + JuiceDefender downloaded from the market (free)
It can last for 2 days with about 250 messages per day and little gaming and net surfing.

I get 1 to 1.5 days battery backup maximum when people get 2 to 3 days backup. Dont know how. Are they use the phone to make calls?
I have got this battery backup on GCR 8.2. Is that bad?
Also I used 30 min music in 70% volume, 20 mins Wifi, 5 mins 3G. Else are in the attached images. I talk a lot (around 2 to 2.5H in a day) but this time I taken the screen shot during Sat and Sun days. So I had a little low Voice usage. Also to be noted that I am overclocked to 710MHz.

Using Whatsapp and Twitter client and Dolphin Browser, about 16-17 hours.

Which rom do you use...?

my battery life is exactly 24h ;D a lot of texting, gaming, surfing through net, watching youtube vids! wifi on about 6-8h in a day

About 2 days using rooted stock rom with jit..
Alot of texting.. (ALOT)
Between one and two hours of calls per day (minimum, i make more on average)
15-30 mins wifi browsing
One day if i use wifi for a couple of hours or more, watch youtube videos and let the screen on alot.

Min-320
At 11pm. (96 percent left)
Next morning at 10am,battery reduced by 4 percent only.
(92 percent left)

Horrendous battery loss!!!! :(

ok....am totally depressed with the awful battery loss that i am left speechless!!!...
here's what i did
3 and a half hours on standby....45 minutes of music playback on headphone in LOW volume.
1/2 hour of angry birds @ full brightness.
15 minutes of surfing @3g with full brightness.
rest the phone was idle.
tried battery calibration, wiped battery stats, using task manager regularly. nothing helps.

v20? mine draining batt as well..

Im on temasek P20-32 and using Wi-Fi more than usually and battery is droping down every minute. Ill try kernel nova 11c and hope that this is my last chance.

cyanogen sucks for battery, it will drain like hell with wifi on

Mine also drain battert very fast! even in my sleep time. but the strange thing is even battery reached to zero, it doesn't turn off! i think it has a problem with battery level indicator.
Ps. now i'm using V20N kdz. considering about turning back to V10E Thai but regreting the smoothness of gingerbread

same here with V20N when i sleep i put`it in plain mode with 90% when i wake up the battery was 0% and now i`m back to V10F in battery monitor say`s at a certain hour/min the battery from 70% was gone to 0% and about activities that drain nothing strange , seems normal like battery monitor say`s

I have some tips for the battery:
- use your phone till it drops to 1%
- reboot you phone
- charge it till 100% (don't use your phone while it's charging)
- then turn it off
Believe me,it'll last for a week

Maybe you just have ****ty ( malfunctioned) batteries ? Buy new ones and test.

OP where are you? I am using CM7 #39 stock kernel, with no simcard, dropped 6% in 8.5 hours idle. But if there's data connection available and sync turned on, you only need 10-15 minutes to drop 6% (idle).
We need a good kernel, redy2006 told me if anyone could port Nova v3 kernel into stock GB/CM7 all in one it would be great.
Like universal Siyah kernel i am using right now on my SGS2 (MiUI ICS), very great sleep setup and reasonable wakeup battery use. I can managed up to a day much better than my OB (CM7#39-stock) that can only managed up to 10 hours with the same apps and behaviour.

ok...i installed zeus1 over again, wiped batt stat and installed the echelon theme.
sersly, dats wat i did!!!....nw screen set @20% br8ness, played for 20 minutes, 15/20 mins f music playback & a good backup
now i hv 94% left!!!

Battery issues

Hi,
I've been experiencing a lot of problems with my battery since I bought my lg o2x. I've tried about everything to reduce battery drainage but nothing is working. I tried using lowest brightness, bought a new battery, never got gps/bluetooth on also there aren't any apps on except system things, but still my battery won't last longer then about 3h active usage and about 6-8h moderate usage. Can someone help me because its getting quite annoying having to recharge two times a day...
I also tried different roms and kernels but that didn't make any difference either. Currently running Django Manouche v1.2 ext 4 OC

sigh i got to buy another battery

Hello everybody When my battery is charged on display i see only 92% and battery drain very fast. when wifi is on for a couple hours and that's it i must plug charger on stock GB that's not case... also when i play games i got warning for low battery(14%) and after i leave phone battery goes to 22% And major problem for me is Calendar doesn't sync with contact birthdays

GB is more powersaving ROM than JB is, so don't expect a better battery life using CM10. How long did your battery take to go completely flat using GB ROM?

Cm nightly is experimental version, so bugs like this are possible. I think you should try stable version of cm, for example : cm 10.0.0.

Hello !
Firstly, Wifi (and GPS) are very energy consuming, so yes, if your wifi is on and you are using it for a couple of hours, you may have no more battery left in the end. Maybe stock GB handle "wifi-sleeping" better than JB do (and as it has already been stated, JB consume much more than GB due to higher RAM usage (mostly))
Concerning the drop from 14% to 22%, it make sense for me since battery stat is also calcultated considering current and average usage, so if you were playing your phone think : "oh, I won't be able to handle this state for a long time", and after when you stopped it thinks : "ok, it was not that bad if things stay like this.
