Safepwr2 fusion case vs 3400 mah extended battery - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

i want to add some extra battery life to my vivid but at the same time get a case to make it look somewhat good and protect it... the safepwr 2 case has a 1800 mah battery and has a case built in but some people say that it doesnt add much battery... the 3400 mah extended battery is better and less bulky but there is no real silicon/hard case to go with it and it costs a lot more from mugen. Let me have your opinions.

you can buy a case and cut out most of the back to fit the lager battery(thats what I did)..

Since I'm also interested in extending the battery life on the Vivid, I try to find any piece of info/review I can, unfortunately there's little. I really want to know how mugen does. This is one review I found for safepwr

I have had both the Safepwr2 and 3500mah extended battery. The Safepwr added about 50% more life and a lot of bulk. I am sure it protects well, but I just couldn't stand the brick look and feel.
The 3500mah extended battery adds a little bulk but I actually like the feel better. I have the cheap chinese version, not the Mugen but I am still amazed at the battery life. It's actually twice the stock battery life.
I like the idea some of had about cutting a hole for the battery hump. I am trying to fing a good case to do this with.

OEM Extended Battery for the Vogue

http://www.talkietech.com/htcto19hicab.html
I found this extended battery for the vogue. Any of you use this? If so how does it compare to the original standard battery?
that battery just showed up on the "battery scene"... it should provide more capacity based on mAh. i'm using Seidio's 2000 mAH battery it provides enough power to get me 1.5 days with normal usage.
Yeah I have that battery and anything is better than the one that comes with it. It lasts a lot longer as you would probably expect from a bigger battery. If you do get that battery it won't fit in your case anymore and the best case I found that fits it perfect by the way is this one http://swissmobility.swissmobilitystore.com/store/product/swissmobility_commander. It fits it perfect after a day of breaking it in. It is also cheaper here at this site http://www.buywirelessnow.com/smartwireless/buy/accessories/cat/615/accessory/298685 which includes the cover and free shipping.

Mind sharing pictures of what it looks like installed? Also do you know if any of the existing extended batteries would fit using the OEM extended battery door?
thanks,
-CC
Here are a few pictures. As far as other batteries fitting inside like the 2000 from seidio it probably will because they claim it will still fit in the original holster with the back you can get with it and with this HTC back it won't fit inside the original holster. This is all an assumption.
thanks for the pictures... if you have it, i'd like to see a side-shot of the phone with battery cover (similar to 3rd from left but with cover) and a bottom-shot of the phone with battery cover (looking from bottom). having an OEM cover vs. the tight Seidio cover is something i'm thinking about (not to mention having another backup battery). thx

Guess I can't get the 2000mah battery then
What else you guys recommend ?
I've been thinking of getting the Treo 700wx
This is the 1500mah battery which fits with the original cover..

too expensive though, there's tons of them on ebay cheaper
Will a Extended Battery Door for a Capacity 1900 mAh battery fit a 2000mah battery?
i have the extented door for the OEM 1900 mAh battery and it easily accomodates seidio's 2000 mAh battery. in fact, the 1900 mAh battery is taller than seidio's 2000 mAh battery.
Thanks for the reply. I'm looking forward to the purchasing the door and the extended battery.
how much room is left in between the battery and the cover would you say? I want to put an led in the case for a non-flash/light. the mugen-power full case looks like it would work, but I don't want to spend $75 on a 3 year old phones battery.

does the HTC Evo Battery really work with the Incredible

i heard that the HTC Evos battery can fit in a HTC incredible. is this true, and how much extra battery life would i get from it? i am thinking of buying an Evo battery just so i can get more battery life in my incredible with out having to use an extended back door.
It does fit, and it's a pretty tight fit, but it does fit, and adds another 200 mAh of battery life going from 1300 mAh to 1500 mAh, so it's about another 15% more battery life.
It makes more sense to get the Seidio Innocell 1750 mAh Battery. Its the same size of the incredible battery with longer battery life. Below is the Amazon link:

If you guys do some research you'll read that the 1750 is really as good as 1500, and the 1500 fit perfectly for me. You can get the oem one on ebay for $15 shipped, I've posted the link like 15 times, its in the other 15 battery threads

2 Batteries + Battery Charger (w/USB) about $10
The biggest complaint I have (as do most of you) with your delicious Incredible is the battery life. I searched high and low - even tempted to turn my slim inc into a thick deck of cards with an extended battery. I didn't do it - I couldn't do it. So, being the gambling man I am, I jumped on ebay and ordered the 2 battery + battery charger for about $10 (shipped from China). I've used them now for a couple of weeks and couldn't be happier. No longer am I worried about when I'm going to be able to get some direct juice. I'm just swapping batteries! They seem to run cool and are rated at 1500 mAh (150 more than original). I'm so happy with them that I'm going to order another set or two. At that price I can't pass it up!!! ebay search incredible battery and you'll see the love.
P.S. I told one of my inc pals about it and he ordered too - he got the red batteries with the android logo on it - BEWARE OF THESE - They bump out of the back a bit too much and now his back case won't secure 100%. Anyway...you can thank me later.
Although many people are tempted to buy those I personally wouldn't. There are enough stories on here about people buying those batteries and chargers and not ending good. Most stories start like yours but end with well after a month the batteries last less than the oem which is 200 less. The htc 1500 batteries should fit perfect without the back bulging. I recommend you buy the oem 1500 battery off ebay for $15, that'd what most people use.
You have to think a little $10 shipped for 2 batteries and a charger? That'd like the 32gb micro sd cards for $15

I have had the sendo 1750 since I had an Eris 6 months ago and It's great. I notice a definite increase and I am a heavy user, I.e. watching streaming tv a lot, and I definitely recommend it.

will we see extended battery's?

I don't really know much about how easy replacing phones with bigger battery's, but is it likely that htc will sell a bigger power battery for the hd7 ie 1500 or something?
I've seen regualr replacement batterys for the HD7 advertised but not extended ones...not yet anyway.
As always, it's just a matter of time before Mugen/HTC/Seidio etc announce an extended battery.
I hope they can squeeze a true not BS 1500mAH battery in there without a new back cover. It would ruin the design.

There are 1500mAH batteries listed on Ebay already but how can you tell if its the same old 1230mAH battery with a different sticker on it? Is it even possible to squeeze 270 more mA into a battery of the same size?
lol of course its possible.. have you seen the size of the EVO's battery??? that was 1500 and the dimensions were quiute similar to that of the HD2... so I don't see why it would make a difference
I bought an HD7 and love it. Battery life is not the greatest so I just ordered a 1500 mAh battery for it. I'll let you guys know if it is any better. BTW, the HD7 comes with a 1230 mHa battery (thanks HTC for going cheap here :-| )
Also, the Evo 4G which is almost the exact same hw device comes with a 1500 mHa out of the box.

As mentioned above the big battery sticks out the back of your phone in a great big lump (they have a picture on their site now). It will also add a lot to the weight. HTC would never release a phone like this.
Why they didn't make the HD7 just a tiny bit thicker and heavier to squeeze a 1500mAh battery in is another question though.
I am not talking about the battery cover. I am talking about a case. A leather case or any other thing i can protect my phone with so if it drops or anything i dont want any scratches etc.

nice! might buy one of these. not sure if i want my sleek phone turning into an obese amoeba though. for 12 bucks shipped I can get another OEM battery. I think i might rather have two spare OEM batteries in my glovebox...
Would definitely not face any juice problems with that beast in it but It would be hard for me to adjust to the bulk of the phone afterwords I'm afraid.
Does anybody know how much thickness this will add to the phone?

For all those wondering, I got one of these batteries. It is slightly larger then the HTC 2150 extended battery and slightly smaller then the Seidio 3500 battery. You can use the HTC extended cover but there will be a small gap around the sides. With the backing that comes with the battery, it makes the whole thing feel very big. The max thickness is really the same as the HTC extended case, but it is big all over instead of just over the battery.
In addition to the case being clunky, I really did not see any benefit to this battery. Even though it says 3500, it gets less life then the 2150. If you want a lot of life out of your phone, go with the 3500 battery from Seidio. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. No matter which of these three batteries you get, they are all going to add the same amount of thickness which is approximately doubling the size and weight of your phone.
If you want to increase the life of your phone and not increase the size, Seidio also makes a 1800 battery that is good. I am using the one I had from my Eris.
i got this Acase 3500 mah battery a few weeks ago, it's great! bump charging vastly improves its battery life also. usually it lasts me about more than 24 hours
I got it late last week, and have been running it for a while. Battery life is a LITTLE better than the 1750 Sedio I had in it before. Not enough to justify the huge size, though. I can make it all day on my 1750, anyway.
Wow. Kind of disappointed after hearing all this that I bought it. Mine is supposed to come on the 22nd so I'll post back with results. Hopefully for my experience, I get better life out of it than stock.
I sent the Acase back and picked up two of the OEM 1800 evo batteries, they fit the dinc fine.
Do those OEM 1800 Evo batteries do much better than the OEM DINC battery? You can get 2 of the Evo 1800 batteries for $40 on Amazon.

Bulk? No, its a direct fit with out the need of a larger back. Weight? possibly a little, not sure on that aspect.

That case will not work with the 3500. The 3500 requires a different backing that the case will not fit over.

I now only buy the Anker(sp?) batteries on ebay....they are cheap, and the only ones that appear to hold a full charge
many of the cheap 1900's I have bought are only like 900-1200
every Anker battery we have appears to be true capacity as listed
I got my 3500mAH battery finally. I can say that it adds bulk and weight. It also adds at the minimum twice the battery life. I would say I think it really is closer to three times as long. Yes it has a hump but is very comfortable to hold. With the new battery it is more like it should have been from the start with the original battery. You should not have any problems making it through a day of heavy use or two days light to normal use. This battery also takes along time to charge. I am very happy with the performance. Though I would still like to find a case the would fit the phone with this new hump on it. Lol
I would also like to find a case to fit the extended battery back. I just got this phone and the battery life is horrible even when compared to my HTC Inspire. I want to order the 3500mAH battery and extended back, but I also don't want my phone to be naked either. It's a toss up.
Darn I'm so tempted to buy the 3500 mah battery but I can't afford for it to blow up on me.. IF it does.... I traded my samsung infuse for this so I have no way in returning it. ):
Hopefully there's more people testing these batteries out so I can get one in a couple months.
Seido batteries are great!
I ordered this one: 1980mah Andida Spare Battery for LG Optimus 3D
I will test it out and report back my results to the forum.
Day 2 of using the aftermarket battery; So far so good. Took longer to charge than the stock battery, but that's on par with having a higher rated mAh.
I've been using the 3500mah extended battery since September 20th. So far, so good! Im getting double battery life and my phone hasn't exploded yet... lol... it does add some considerable bulk to the phone because of the custom backing that's required, but I personally think its worth it.
