I have flashed the new [07/04/12] CM9 ROM from TE4M. After flashing the ROM, galaxy tab is asking to unlock the SIM. I never has this issue when I was in OVERCOME ROM. Any help would be great.

Hi
I currently have an vodafone unlocked galaxy running bujv9 rom. and cf-root XWJVH kernel. phone is rooted.
I been looking at kernels which support voodoo sound and other stuff as my one does not.
How do i go from a jvh rom and kernel to say a jvr kernel and rom which supports the voodoo stuff.
Is it a simple wipe then CWM flash new rom then odin jvr kernel. or other way around. Not sure.
Sorry still learning galaxy flashing. well different from HTC flashing.
Cheers.
If you want to try latest rom and a kernel with all features flash stock JVS in odin and then flash Darkcore 4 or Semaphore 1.7 in odin

Your desired rom should have kernel so no need for flashing twice.
You will probably get away with factory reset and cwm flash. Any probs you may have to flash stock first.

There are apps that will do this, but may not work properly (depending on a lot of things). If you're unsuccessful with the app, or if you'd rather another way, the main to go about it is to flash a kernel that is already rooted.
Thanks for your reply, my problem is that i can't find the right cf-root kernal and also because phone locked to network my build number is bujv9,
Flash the stock jvX that you want first then flash the kernel from odin as pda, safe way

If you can enter download mode, you can flash whatever you like.
Hello, what is the best ROM for ICS on Samsung Galaxy S? I'm fed up of stock ROM being slow and want something fast and want ICS I've never flashed before and downloaded "Onecosmic's ICS Port Android 4.0.3 RC2.11" but don't have a clue on how to start flashing it, as he hasn't made a noob tutorial
Any help would be appreciated.
How about trying teamhacksung's ICS port aka soon to be CM9 rom? Just follow the guide on the first page.

But I'm a noob :-( I don't even know how to root or put CWM on... what ROM would you recommend for noob like me, ICS one or CM7? I Just want something really fast that will make games smoother and that works fully....
Do you know how to flash a kernel via Odin? You will be rooted and have CWM automatically once you flash a custom kernel. I would recommend you to use a custom GB rom, as not all apps are compatible with ICS and more bug free.

oh ok.. is the standard CM7 the fastest ROM then?
In my opinion, no. Perhaps you would want to try the Simplicity rom.
I am new to this and I'm wondering what type of custom kernels I can flash onto my Captivate. I'm confused about which kernel is compatible with my device.
Will I be able to flash this onto my phone?: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1294477
I'm currently using the 2.3.3 stock ROM, I896UXKH2 for my Rogers captivate.

Let me know how that works out, because I basically want a stock phone with lagfix.

Here. Try this. I dont know what rom youre running but I am running Devil as we speak and its very nice! And has lag fix!
I know its a noob question but what is the difference between these two devices? I want to install a custom rom and im not sure if all GT i9000t roms will work with the GT i9000

You can flash any ROM for I9000 on I9000T. The only thing i can advice is check if you're carrier block the bootloaders before you flash a custom rom.
If the carrier block the bootloaders then unlook first to avoid problems.
I have a I9000T from Telcel MX.
I have flashed it boot loaders not locked the difference carriers put a different network module in for 850mhz 3g all ROMs have worked so far

Yo could flash any ROM of i9000 in your i9000T, but you should use a 850MHz modem (I recommend you to use JL2)

Hey, if I understood well you had Gingerbread and flashed boot.img to have custom recovery and install CM11, right?
If yes:
You cannot flash 4.2/4.3/4.4 ROMs if you don't flash first official 4.1 from Samsung, otherwise you will have network problems.
If no:
Are you sure that your device is GT-I9070 and not GT-I9070P?
