Just wondering if anyone else has or is experiencing any of these issues.
Had a HTC TyTN II for about a year now (I think).
Sometimes turning it on, the screen doesn't sync properly. You get the waivy lines, and have to hit the power button a few times to turn it off and back on, eventually it turns on properly.
Device cannot read MicroSD cards.
I'm thinking one of the cables that connects the top part of the device to the bottom is coming loose, however, I knoticed that when doing hard resets, it lowers the frequency of this happening, until the device gets filled with data and apps... This is the second time ive done the hard reset to make it usuable.
Super odd... Typicly if a hard reset fixes it, it woulnd't be hardware issues, but I still have issues with the MicroSD card.
Just wondering if anyone has any hardware failure stories.
Tried changing spl's and radios yet ?
sorry for the hijack but do you or anyone else have an issue with a bluetooth headphone. i've tried different bluetooth devices and on incoming calls if i use the bluetooth to answer the callers hear a loud screeching sound for a second. but using the same headset if i press the answer button on the phone the screeching doesn't occur. i've tried 3 different headsets and all had the same issue. any ideas??
SPLs?
I havn't modified the firmware or anything whatsoever. Running HTC firmware. No special addons or mods..
Then your warranty should come to the rescue - see what they say!

Then if it's a HTC TyTN II, the warranty is just over a year (I think it was about 15 months on mine) so it'd be worth contacting HTC pronto with your phone to hand to see if you can get it fixed under warranty. Let us know how you get on.
Wow,
So I noticed that the MiniSD card reader has been going lately. Card goes in, it doesn't recognize it. have to put it in 20 times to get it to recognize it.
ANYWAYS....
I decided to take the card out, cuz its pissing me off and almost pointles. BAM the phone became super responsive. When u hit the power button the screen turns on instantly. When your on a phone call and press hangup, it hangs up normally (there was a 10 second delay before that it would take to turn the screen back on and hang up the call).
So I think its JUST the microSD slot thats fried, i think since its kinda working, it was causing freezing issues and caused the phone to freeze, etc...
I don't care that it doesn't work. Ive sent stuff in for warranty before, I always get stuff back in worse condition then i sent it with new stuff broken. I cant go without exchange push for longer than 4 hours at night, so im going to live without the microSD card. lol
Thanks anyways guys!

Wow indeed. Maybe the problem is related to the card itself or whats on it. Try backing up the card (using its usb reader) then reformat it in FAT32 and with the phone totally powered off insert it. Boot up and see how the phone then performs. If this still proves problematic and you don't want to get it fixed under warranty there's not much anyone can do to help I'm afraid.
Card is fine! Tried 5 others, lol.
maybe some pins are crossed or something inside the slot.
Mine is having same problems exactly. sometimes if i reboot with the slide open it will work ok sometimes not wtf
Weird... thats odd that someone is having the same issue...
OMG ITS THE Y2K9 bug!!!
Ok, so I have encountered something NONE of us EVER want to encounter. My phone has died. It will NOT boot up on battery power and is now cycling in the tri-color screen over and over again. It does this when plugged into USB port and wall outlet. I have the HTC Euro stock ROM on the SD card in the phone, trying to get it to reflash. It gets to the screen : "loading" and "checking" ....but then boots down again and cycles all over again.
I flashed the NRG 10/11 Photon ROM. I have the first HRDSPL from Olinex. My phone is the Euro version, unlocked, unbranded. I use TMobile in the US. .
Please, there has GOT to be someone out there that can help me. You guys are really sharp!! Please ....I need my phone!
I cannot even do a hard reset either. I push the power, send and end button all at the same time. I get no response.
What are my options here? Thanks in advance.

1: So if when you pull out your battery it goes off. And on reinsert, when you try to turn on or hardreset ie: hold the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons until you see this message on the screen.
"This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel."
At that point you release the buttons and press Volume up to perform.
It doesnt do anything?
2: As soon you do the AC adapter in or USB power, it starts cycling on his own? If not, try to hardreset then.
3: If you wait like 30 minutes, with cycling on USB on PC, can it hardreset out hisself? Ive readed another guy who had issues and somehow it fixed itself.

sorry to hear that, have you tried taking the battery out for few minutes & re-insert it in then connect your phone to PC to see if it let you re-flash again?
good luck m8
People are reporting the same thing after doing slide to reboot with NRG's 10/11 Photon ROM... Go check that topic, you are not alone.

It doesnt do anything? I can never get to that point. It does nothing. I see nothing on the screen. It just keeps cycling.

I waited all night long for it to do that. No luck.
Now I get to the point where I see where it recognizes my .nbh file and has a splash screen. BUT......it will not go any further past that now. I press the power button to continue, but it just cycles again and the whole process starts over. I see a reallllllllllllly quick sliver of the update bar, but it disappears fast b/c of the recycling process.
Please dont give up on me. Thanks.

um, yeah, that would be me in that disasterous situation.
I saw in another thread that you have tried removing your SIM card with no success. Have you tried without the SD card as well?
Also, does pressing the hardware reset button under the battery cover do anything?

I do not have the SIM card in there. I never have flashed with a SIM card in there. Always read to take that out when you do that.
The SD has to be in there b/c it is the only thing that has a shot of getting the ROM to the phone. Active Sync wont connect b/c phone keeps powering on/off with its cycling issue. So the SD card must be present with the .nbh file on it. I am just in hopes that it will read it somehow. I am sooooo tired of pressing the power button for it to continue, only to have it turn right back off.
ps, reset button does nothing either.
ugh.
Aaah sorry, didnt remeber who was talking about it... There were few cases like that if I remeber correctly...
Ive been here since TyTN, does it make 4yrs or something? I have never heard anything like this.. Because the phone goes to the 3 color screen mode, Im pretty sure someone with skills will come up with a solution, but it might take time though...

So the 3 color screen mode. Exactly what is its purpose and why does it keep cycling over and over and over?
Its the bootloader, you should PM Olinex...

Certainly, but I was curious to find out if taking the SD card out had any effect on the cycling or your ability to hard reset.

I wish.... It just cycles...over and over and over. No matter if the SD card is there, thrown across the room, or crushed in my hand. lol
I always flash with SIM and memory card (as I use UC almost everytime) and never had any problems with any device.
PM the board guru's about this and you will learn more in a single message than you will from this topic in a week.
Last post maybe came out little harsh. I only meant that your problem sounds so serious, that you should contact the gurus before you do something that could even make the matter worse...

Hey, it's ok. I didnt take it as harsh. I have contacted cmonex. I am in hopes she can help me out. I need to put an APB out on ALL GURUS!!
Actually, that is why I posted here.
I've noticed during the flashing process it doesn't take power from USB. What is the status of the battery? It occured to me that it might be power cycling because it's going to a part of the process that only takes power from battery and there isn't enough to do what it wants to do. (+50% ?)
Just a thought ... good luck dude I hope you get it sorted.

Yes, I thought of that as well. But I had it plugged in all night...but I have no idea if it charged b/c I cant see the screen that gives the battery's status. ?? So, I dont know how to get around this part of it. I KNOW for a fact that my battery was low when the phone died. I dont know how to get it charged back up to do this type of diagnostic test.....??
Maybe it's not getting a proper charge if all it's doing is looping ... I figured you wouldn't be able to get battery status after I posted haha ... But it is interesting you said the battery was low when this all happened.
Do you know anyone near you that can lend you a fully charged battery? Does it boot up immediately if you take SD card out, put battery back in and plug in USB power? If you can't get it to where the phone is off and charging with orange light then a spare battery could be worth a try.
Don't worry dude I'm sure cmonex or olipro will have far more useful advice but no harm trying in the meantime
So my Galaxy S seems to have **** the bed 7 days to the minute.
Working all fine today, restarted the phone as it seemed a little slower than usual.
Upon restart doesn't go any further than the animated splash screen, problem is my phone is one that doesn't have the 3 button combo. Awesome.
Only things I have done to it is the one click root and one click lag fix, no other flashing.
I've tried taking the battery out for about 10 minutes, starting with no sim, with sim, with charger, withough charger all to the same effect.
Am I SOL and have to send this back or are there any other tricks to try?
I think I'll be sticking with vanilla if I can get it replaced.
E: I should say, after about 10 minutes from sitting at the samsung splash screen, the screen turns off and the two touch sensative buttons light up and don't turn off.
Do you have an external memory card installed? If so remove that and try again.
Hey.
Sorry for your phone dying. I am able to get my phone into recovery and download mode by letting it charge up. The goal is to make it warm to touch. This is the only way I can get it going. I've also used a hairdryer with success. Might as well try everything right?
you can still take it back to the store and claim warranty on it

Yeah I called my carrier last night. It's only 7 days old, as I upgraded online they are sending out a satchel for me to send it back in.
Back to the old iPhone 3G for the time being. Such a step back.
My Hero CDMA just died on me! It was running on AOSPCMOD. Everything was fine for a whole day. Until just now, I got it playing some mp3s. It kind of froze up on me for a little bit, so I decided to reboot it. It wouldn't reboot from the "end" power button, so I decided to take out the battery. Then BAM, put back the battery and the damn thing never turn back on.
Anyone know whats wrong with it? LOL
Possible causes? I had CWM3.0 installed before flashing aospCMOD rom, which is fine. Then I was messing around with the pre-installed Rom Managers, and I think it downgraded my CWM3.0 to 1.5. Could that be the cause of the brick? That's the only thing I could think of. Anyone got any idea??
You think BestBuy can replace my phone? I only had their insurance for about a week, and it wasn't even for the Hero. I bought an Epic, but didn't like it so I gave it to my g/f and I took over her old Hero. Do you think Bestbuy will notice?
Damnit...me and my good ol' luck! or stupidity....either way...FML!!
normally i would say your screwed but i think i know your problem. its probably because of the room i would say format and reflash it. take your sd card out first and put it in an sd card reader and backup as many files as you can.
Well does the red light still come on??? And the chances are razor thin that you bricked it unless you flashed a gsm radio. If the red light comes on just let it charge untill its green. Then try to boot up. If it boots try to raising or lowering your cpu frequencies in settings/canyogenmod settings/performance /cpu settings /min/max frequency. Try raising your min and lowering your max or vice versa. A clock speed to low when the screen shuts off may cause something like that. And don't forget to check the little box to apply on boot. Hope it helps good luck.
Yea its me again with the
Modified Hero--
How do I re-format and reflash? the darn thing wouldn't power on or connect to my computer. If I could get into recovery then that wouldn't be a problem.
I wish the red line would magically appear, lol.
So your red light does not come on at all??? If not then try a different usb cable if you have one.
Yea its me again with the
Modified Hero--
Yea...I did just that, lol. Thank for the reply. For some reason, CM's Rom, the LED light is disable. But I removed the battery out for awhile then used a different usb cable, the phone finally came back on. Whew! I can breath now.
LMAO. I've been there before. Glad to see you got it all worked out. If you need anything else let me know. If I can help I will. Good luck.

i am travelling and in a foreign country and i think my hd7 just died..ugh FML.
So here is the thing, battery kept warning low battery, i had one in reserve fully charged. Pulled out old, put in charged battery, power on... PRESTO! Phones jacked now.
It keeps giving me the black screen with the pic asking to connect to a pc.
I finally gave in and did that and now it wants to do a restore!
i did it...it said successful. Reboot, back to same thing!
So far i did it 4 times and i dont think its working.
Any ideas?
HELP PLEASE!
Thanks
Sounds like something is corrupted. Only suggestion would be to flash a ROM which will wipe the unit clean. Either that or it's a hardware issue.
