What should I sell it for? One it's already rooted and running the CM7 tweaks version. Then I've got 6 cases and a few chargers for it. What do you guys think?

Why are you selling it?
One hundred jillion gazillion dollars!
What cases do you have? Maybe I'll take one off your hands.
Don't do it!!! Sell 4 or 5 of the cases though...
One million dollars!
Mwahahahhahahahaha Mwahahahhahahaha.
Seriously, I'm wondering the same thing as the previous posters.
I'm also wondering about the 6 cases and might be willing to take one of them off your hands.
LOL ok. So 5 cases and 1 sleeve. I bought the amazon package with the Leather portfolio case and 5 silicon case and extra chargers. That's how I got them all. Thinking of selling it cause you can get Ipad 1s now for like $300.

So you're downgrading?
Let's be real here. The NC is no Ipad. It was just the best option at that price.
Agreed.....
Really? I'm running Cm7 on my Nook with a Quandrant score of over 1700 and can do so many things on this that you can't do on the iPad.
Oh My Gosh!!!!! I love to tell people what to do. Especially when it comes to shopping. It makes me feel like a little boy again when I use to go to the grocery store with my mommy. We so excited!
Dude, seriously? It's called ebay.
Figure it out.
A used tablet? About half the price of a new one.

terapeak says you should get $230-$250 for it Used on ebay..so subtract their onerous fees of about 15% when all said and done and you have a price. You could also try Craigs list..but then you have to deal with the logistics of meeting someone, but you may get a clean 250 for it.

That really depends. The NC has some pros over the iPad. It also has some cons. No question about that. I would never ever trade my NC for an iPad. I can understand why someone might though.
I've sold my nook and gotten another galaxy tab. but I sold it to someone who I know will love it as much as I did. the plus is that he works with me and any time updates are available I help him out. its almost like I still have the nook.
who knows, I may buy another later... that was actually nook 3, lol.
Best bet is go to BN and find someone looking to buy a nook lol umm and where are they selling ipads for 300.
Just curious to see how many people would "trade-up" to the newer model *if* (very small chance I know) B&N announces tomorrow that they're releasing a faster and more full featured tablet/reader.
I'm of two minds about it, if it ends up being a new NC (which I doubt myself) that is better than the current NC, it'll probably cost $50-100 more, in which case why not just get one of the dedicated tablets out on the market? (Or wait for Amazon's quad core Hollywood tablet..)
What do you think?
I would wait for Hollywood, hell even Coyote. I don't really have money to just throw around myself, so even if they did release a newer Nook Color, I doubt it would be a big enough difference in performance or features to make me go buy it tomorrow.
In fact, with the possibility of Hollywood being only $450 at launch and from amazon (who you know is going to go out of their way to make sure they have plenty in stock) I may not even trade up to the Iconia or Transformer this fall like I had wanted to.
Which kind of sucks since the wife wants a Nook color now. (Was going to give her mine...)
Supposedly (PCMag article) Amazon "might" be pricing the 7-inch Coyote tablet a $349 and the 9.7-inch Hollywood tablet at $449 (assuming lowest storage price). If Amazon throws in free 3G for apps downloads I'm sold (doubt it though since their cloud computing mp3/streaming video would end up costing them a pretty penny with free 3G).

I'm trying not to spend *too* much money this year but....
The niece and nephew have been clamoring to inherit the Nook anyway, this year's a good time as any.
The new Nook!
Not a tablet - but a touch based e-reader:

its a cheap tablet, only cost 169$, so cheap that it must have cut down many hardware inside it.
Very nice, I'm very pro supporting BN so if their new reader has decent battery life, I'll probably buy it over the kindle in the near future.
Engadget just posted that B&N are now selling the old Nooks for $99 on eBay.

Just saw this as well.
Still rocking the Incredible with the XDA Premium App.
And the new Nook is a $139 touch enabled eReader - so...no Color as many of us predicted.

The engadget article states 2 months on a charge.
here is the article about the new nook:
***.engadget.com/2011/05/24/barnes-and-noble-announces-new-nook/
Doesn't sound like it has a lot to recommend it compared to nc, but we can still spend a few days speculating if it will boot from SD card... perhaps there are some applications where a "paperback" android device would be useful, especially if the disaffected sell them lightly used in the $100 range.
Press release says nook color now $169 list. Time for a second one to play with!
http://news.cnet.com/8301-30685_3-20065678-264.html
EDIT: Went to the blog of the news conference and the reporter was wrong. NC is not lowered in list price! It is the 3g version of the old original nook that is $169. Bummer.

Correction, the original nook 3g is now 169. nook color is unchanged.
Touch screen e-ink? 80% less flashing (supposedly)? sd card? I'm sold. I wonder how long it takes to get it hacked and someone throw as a browser on there. e-ink touchscreen browser, even if just black and white, aounds very intriguing to me. Especially if it's better than the kindle's experimental browser.
this also assumes bn didn't take the hint from the first nc and locks the thing down like a bunker. Not to say there are some great devs out there but it would severley limit progress. This comming from a droid 2. Locked bootloaders =
I'd stay where i'm at right now. Working on saving money for a true tablet, but i like my NC as it is with HC now.
Why trade up? The Nook Color does everything I need it to do... IN COLOR. Running CM7 or phiremod is the icing on the cake...
This article says Amazon will be entering the tablet market with a $250 tab. Although I can't tell you how reliable the source is. I thought I would just post this here and see what you guys think.

yeah, lower pricing and ice cream, is going to hurt apple's ipad
All depends on specs.
I'm interested if it's a 10" and lighter than the NOOKcolor. Willing to pay no more than $400. After playing with the 10' Galaxy Tab the NOOK is indeed too heavy.

No microSD slot on any device is a no-go for me though.
"Analyst" is business speak for bull**** artist. Which is about as much credence as I lend to this article.
As cell carriers like verizon and AT&T continue to restrict and impact cloud content models like IPAD and IPhone with their data rate restrictions and higher data cost, a Amazon tablet could become even more viable as a competitor using pre-purchased stored content vs. cloud content. Go Amazon....
.........with the hopes of getting their money back with sales from the Amazon app store. It is expected that they could recoup the loss from each tablet within 6 months and make a profit of 10 to 30 percent per tablet over the next 18 months.

And therein lies the rub. B&N turned a blind eye when developers started rooting it to take advantage of the Android Market. Why? Maybe because they were more interested in selling books than apps. How many here with a Nook Color have the Nook Reader Android app and still buy books from B&N?I know I do and now my wife shares them with me on her NC. I also have the Kindle app but I have yet to buy a book from Amazon. They are pretty much the same price so why should I give my book money to Amazon when B&N has been so good about the whole thing?
I've read an article from somewhere, indicated that Samsung will release their 2nd-gen 7.0" tablet with 1280x720 TFT screen running either HC3.2 or ICS. Don't know the price though.
Hi guys. Missed the Barnes and Nobel deal so now I am looking around for the best deals, so I thought I would stop here and ask. I need one for my daughter for Christmas. Either a color nook or nook tablet. Looking to root it as well through the sd card because I want to keep the stock B&N software for my daughter to buy and read books. Any input is welcome as to where I can get either one for a great deal and which one to get. Thanks!
I bought 2 refurbished for the kids for $119 each from here last week. It changed to $129 now. I don't know if the price fluctuates or not.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOOK-Color-...719205?pt=US_Tablets&hash=item45feb06fa5#rwid
It appears to be B&N's own ebay site.
Item location: B&N Warehouse, United States
I can't be sure what the warranty is but it should be 1 year like the one from their site.
Yes, that auction ended, then went from $129 to $149 and that ended and I cant find another auction listed under the Barnes and Nobel store anymore.......
For the price comparison between the two, I am wondering if I would be better to go with the tablet? I am sure that it will be rooted very soon! looking for input!

Locked boot loader makes it basicly SOL for custom roms.
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk
B&N's own site still has the $149 refurb deal here. Not as good as $119, but at least its still available
So what would you guys get? If they get past the bootloader problem, which I am sure they will, the only other advantage to the tablet besides the speed is the built in "mic" which later on could be used to talk while using the keyboard similar to the way a cell phone works? Just trying to weigh my options!
Honestly, I would go ahead and get the nook color (not tablet). And think about putting a rom on the emmc (internal drive). That way she can read books from Barnes and Noble on the nook app, as well as books on the kindle app, Sony reader app and Google books. I also check out books from my local library.
I guess you can also do this running the rom from the SD card, but having done it both ways myself, I would go for putting the rom on the nook itself. Rom runs much better.
Apps are much cheaper from the Google market than from the B&N market.
I don't know how much function a mic will give, but I text from my nook using Google voice.
Check out Craigslist as another option. My sister just got a great deal on a nook with leather cover that was barely touched. Still had the box, etc.

$150 now
While this ain't exactly Nook Color related, if you aim for a cheap tablet and don't care about the 1024x600 Resolution the Nooks have...
Go for a Aino Novo 7, it's 100$ and overall might be the better choice for your daughter as it packs a whole bunch more than the Nook.
Its biggest downside being tough to find protective covers and the 800x480 resolution.
I am on the market for a good tablet, is the dell streak 7 a pretty solid device? I owned a dell streak 5 previously and it had lots of issues with random reboots and such, even on the stock ROM.

For $100 definitely if it's in fair or better condition,
heck I'm willing to buy another for $100 for that to give to my parents.
OK, I just was wondering. My co-worker has 2 of them he must sell due to his divorce. So I will just buy both and use one for DEV and the other for daily use.

A buddy of mine had one he wanted to get rid of the other day. I picked it up for 100 and gave it to my 6 year old for his birthday. He's been happy with it so far.
Running stock HC on it. It does really well with most games, better than any of my phones. The battery life on it has been not the best. Had it less than a week now but I would gladly buy it again for 100.
Some of the quad core tablets announced at ces starting at 250 look a lot better though.

Lol I picked up one for my kids and I really like it too. I put stock Honeycomb on it and I have no regrets.
Given the opertunity to buy a DS7 for $100.00USD yes I would buy if I knew it was in reasonable condition and was functionable. Iam very pleased with my DS7 and since I have another complete otterbox defender case (which was a freebee) collecting dust right now, it's a no brainer, I'd jump on it.
i just paid 150 for mine so id do it if i was you lol
