There is Allshare app on our Notes and i have Samsung LED TV with Allshare. Now how can i put it to use? Can i stream videos/photos to the TV or viceversa? Please tell us how to use and what are the features of Allshare?
Thank you.
Allshare is an application that allows DLNA between compatible devices.
this essentially means, if you have your Phone and TV on the same LAN, then you could share media between the devices. While your samsung TV can act as just the player, your phone could act as both server and player.
sounds great. i'll try it out

With AllShare, can you do this share videos FROM TV or PC/MAC TO the Note?
I notice the AllShare app in the Note have a tab called "Remote". When I click on it, it said "No media found", so it seems that the app can do the above.
Thing is, I am not sure if there is a special apps on the PC/MAC to be able to "stream" the videos to my Note? I tried the following and no go:
- Windows Media Player
- Skifta DLNA app
I THINK allShare only works with DLNA devices, Samsung Smart TVs will def work.
As for the remote, it'll transform your note into a remote control for your Samsung TV.
I stream HD videos from my Note to my TV with ease by using AllShare.

I am thinking of the other way around: Media Server --> Note.

its in the market for free and is pretty sweet if you have dnla devices... too bad this program is not a dlna renderer... that could allow us to stream videos and whatnot (to the gtab) without all the trickery of cifs samba etc...
perhaps dlna will one day support windows media center so that it could stream content. i have an ocur mcard tuner and wmc7, would be cool to control or stream my tuners (ceton infinitv 4 tuner, one mcard) to the gtab (never miss a thing or need to pause if i have to poop, just bring the tab with me lol)
or, use the tab as a "settop box" by dnla streaming (as a media extender) to any tv in the house.
but this app is cool nonetheless, works great with my evo

It does stream to phone
Install XBMC and the Windows app
Then choose remote source on the Android app.
You can even turn on sharing with windows media player.
mind you i didnt get it working with the gtab

UPnPlay works great to receive streams from DLNA machines -- I use it all the time between my XBMC host and my phone or tablet...no SAMBA or CIFS required

win7 does not allow streaming any recorded tv (with cablecard) to anything else but another win7 machine that is part of the homegroup (or media extender)
nonetheless, the new app for dlna is awesome for those of us with capable rendering hardware, samsung tv works great and both audio receivers i have support it just fine.

Hi
I've just purchased a Tab that will arrive shortly, i'm looking for something similar to Air Video that i use on my iPhone to stream movies from my DNLA NAS, is there an App that anyone can recommend?
Cheers.
i use the allshare app which is included in the tab by default and it is great!! u can use it as remote control to play streams to 3rd device or you can stream to tab
I'm using "upnplay". The UI is a bit klunky but it works great.
Anyone know of a great alternative to TVMobili on Windows OS? I'm using FUPPES atm and it makes UPNPlay freeze (for me, at least)
Is it possible to access these apps externally? At present i can access the Air Video server from any site wifi site so ican watch my movies whilst away from home.
I don't think so, they are DLNA based, so IFAIK it works only on your local network.
If you want to stream over the internet, you probably need another app/encoding station

Try Plex. As opposed to Air Video it doesn't support subtitles, but it's good and with a little port forward it can be accessed from outside of your network.

Has anyone used Orb Live, it appears to do everything that Air Video does?
Hi all!
I already have a DLNA compatible Philips TV and I run 2 differnen DLNA server apps on my Win 7 PC, Windows Media Player 12 and TVersity. That way I can browse and play almost all my movies on my PC from the TV interface.
Now I just got my first Galaxy S.
Used, with stock Android 2.2. First thing, I rooted it and prepare to install CM 10.1.
But before removing stock I want to learn how DLNA works on the phone.
I took some photos and videos that I want to stream to the TV.
The stock AllShare would sometimes display my TV as selectable target, sometimes not.
When I could select the TV I could always stream photos to the TV but only sometimes videos.
The same happened with Skifta.
I will also test some other DLNA players such as MediaHouse, iMediaShare, Beam, BubbleUp.
But so far my results seem unpredicatable and unreliable.
I searched the web and XDA but found very little.
Can somebody share their experiences of streaming media from Galaxy S ot a TV?
Working configurations?
Would somebody have an install apk to AllShare?
The Samsung support pages recommend installing their AllShare server software. Is that important? MWP and Tversity should be compatible, or maybe not?

AFAIK AllShare isnt supported by CyanogenMod... AllShare works only on Stock Gingerbread Roms with the standard framework.
You have to use apps like imediashare or something. The Streaming works very well with stock... The only problems are the free apps which are provided in the market in my opinion. the most of them have a really annoying UI but it works. music, photos are working fine. for videos i cant say anything since i didnt try to stream movies.
Is it possible to stream live cable tv using the tv app on the One?
AFAIK the TV app is supposed to be used along with your cable TV, not in lieu of it.
It doesn't have streaming capabilities, it just adds to the TV experience.

Oh.. Are there any programs which will allow me to stream live tv? I remember seeing a video of the HTC One being able to stream tv but I think that was with the HD Media Link thingy..
Hey Guys,
Im looking to stream movies that i have downloaded to my SD card from my Tab S to my chromecast. I have All cast which i use for Streaming Showbox, But is there an app that i can get (Paid or not) that will allow me to stream directly to chromecast from my Tab S?
Thanks in advance
I have no problem paying for an app either, What has the best interface and the least amount of bugs.
The Chromecast app itself has screencast. Did you try that?
The best program I can recommend is still Plex , but it requires a PC and software and Plex account... But yeah, if stability isn't important, your first steps should be trying something like BubbleUPNP or Allcast or of course the Chromecast app (but the latter was eternally buggy for me).
I agree, I use plex to stream from my laptop or just the Chromecast app on my iPad.

Didnt even know that was an option. I try that out
Plex /thread.
Absolutely love it!

Bubbleupnp is the way!
I have found if screen mirroring works natively, you can use VLC to play videos to the Chromecast while mirroring. Your device is used as a remote while the file is streamed.

There's a ton of apps out there that can cast local media, so screen casting is pointless. One of the better ones and free is Local cast.
