[Q] Which is the most stable ics rom for nexus one? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Really want to taste ice cream sandwiches
Any?
Thank you!

Any suggestion?

Take a look at this one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557606

i will tell you what i tell everyone--test them all as each works better for some than others

Try the TexasICS Evervolv. I've using this rom and it's very stable from day to day use.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366897

The BCM firmware is working well for me.

TexasIce
I'm using the TexasIce for long time, I face some problems once but now the rom is very stable. I recommend you to try it.

Just installed BCM and works like charm. Texasice seems like a good choice too

I'm running BCM ICS for about a week now and its is quite an amazing piece of work.
I have to admit that I rooted my Nexus One a week ago because I preferred the Desire over the Nexus.
So the Nexus has been sitting in my drawer for about 2 years.
But that said, I only have run Texasice and BCM.
They both run smooth on my Nexus.
I would admit like others, just try them all so you can make your own opinion.

There is a MIUI thread in the Development. No need to provide link to another MIUI. BTW, you like MIUI doesn't mean someone will like it too.

What is battery life like with Miui?

Galnet vs Miui.us vs Miuiandroid

I'm seriously considering flashing a MIUI build again. A few months back, I tried MIUI and was very pleased with it but I flashed another ROM and then forgot about MIUI and its "flashy" look. I'd prefer a MIUI build with the ICS framework or at least some ICS-ish MUII ROM.
I've narrated my choice in which MIUI build to use down to these three:
Miui.us
Galnet
Miuiandroid
I am not sure what build to use, but I've read a bit about each and they have their pro's and con's but now I'm asking you. What do you think? Which one of these has the best feature vs looks mix all in all?
If you feel like it, please state your own pro's and con's with the following three.
well? Also, what do you prefer of MIUI ICS or MIUI GB?

Really? No one here who feels like giving their input?
Wait for ICS until it has Full hardware acceleration , now you must/should use GB for stability

I use miui.nl rom, must be similar to miui.us.
I personally prefer MIUI.us. I have had no problems. It comes with a four-way reboot option and always translated in English. They also have updates every Friday with a changelog translated in English. I would also recommend you try QND Miui as there are a bit more tweaks tuned for our N1. Link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1084726
As between MIUI.us or QND MIUI, I have to say it is a tie in my opinion. Both work very well. If you want updates EVERY Friday then stick with MIUI.us as QND MIUI is updated about once or twice a month (or with major updates.) MIUI.us is very bare bones MIUI while QND offers a bit more apps and features (all are located on the OP of the link above.)
Regarding MIUI ICS, wait. The current MIUI ROMs floating out there on the DEV section are glitchy at best. I have personally tried both out and there is constantly lag and FC's. Best bet is to wait for full hardware acceleration with OpenGL.
Which MIUI.us version to use that isn't ICS? 2.2.3 or 2.1.20?

I've just flashed 2.2.3 yesterday, and had a good play today. It's my first MIUI ROM, so i can't compare to others, but i will say how amazed and pleased i am by it. Barring any show-stopping bugs, i can't imagine ever returning to Cyanogenmod, or Stock Android.
I love the U.I improvements, the fluidity, the weekly update schedule and all the attention to detail.
Best ROM ever!

Both are NOT ICS. You'll know if you download an ICS MIUI because it will say Android 4.0.3... and the thread will have "ICS!!!" plastered all over the title.

Thanks for your input! I tried MIUI for almost 8 hours after which I remembered why I left MIUI for the first time, it's not a ROM for me, simply put.
I like ICS/CM9 and won't leave that for another ROM now. Not even a MIUI-ICS mix.

Hi,
I was also using CM 7.2 RC1 and I switched to Revolution HD 2.3.0 and I dont intend to go back to CM 7.2 yet.
The battery life seems better with RHD and I am one of the few who likes Sense I guess.
The weather widget is pretty cool and I love the touch and focus camera app.
I also tried Nik Trinity... ROM but I went back to RHD for the better battery life.
I never tried an ICS ROM yet. Any suggestion ?
Signature. Everything runs better than expected.
Was running IceColdSandwhich and the ROM is great, but needed something more stable and didn't force the phone to restart every other time I tried to load Google Maps.
I'm on Android Revolution 2.3.0 now
Having been using Playground ICS for some weeks now. Switched from IceColdSandwich which is fast too but not as stable as Playground IMO.
Im still on trinity sensation XL, I find it fast, stable and it has excellent battery life.
I like to have everything rock stable, and everything working properly, which is why im still on sense 3.5 since about December when I joined XDA and rooted my phone.
Next on my hit list are playground ics and Virtuous Primmodonna. Any suggestions and opinions as to which one people like better?
Also, I find miui and other aosp gingerbread roms a little choppy or something, for some reason I get the impression that sense is much smoother, especially on a custom sense 3+ rom

ICS AOSP works surprisingly good considering I always prefer GB Sense ROM in the past. Current state of Playground ICS is very positive. Twistedumbrella is very active and new build is almost daily. I strongly suggest you give it a try.

Why would you use it if battery life is bad?
Hi,
I tested some versions in the time :
Stock ROM
Virtuous Affinity
Virtuous Quattro
MIUI (unable to connect network, and some bugs)
IceColdSandwich
I plan to test others like Primadonna when some issues will be corrected. And, why not try again a fully functionnal MIUI version. I'm looking too the Playground ICS.
I wanna stay on the ICS Roms ! ^^
After using IceColdSandwich for quite a long time and trying Virtuous Primadora, I finally got back to GB and Sense. I prefer Sense than AOKP or AOSP and even if I thought Virtuous Primadora was really stable and it had the best battery life I ever had, I missed the camera and went back to GB. I used Virtuous Affinity for a while, I liked it a lot but went to Trinity because it is more customizable. XxXPachaXxX finally made the ROM I wanted, Affinity with more customization : RunnyMede Xtreme v2. I'm using it since then.

[Q] Which is the most stable Custom ROM?

Hi Guys! I am a bit lost here due to the number of ROMS available for this device.
My mom owns this phone, and she would love to get an update for her phone. She currently runs stock, and I was wondering which custom ROM do you think would be most stable.
It doesn't have to be the best. The most important part is the stability of the ROM. My mom is nowhere near techy. She even gets lost in Facebook. So I don't want to complicate things for her during her use. She needs a custom rom with memory managment but stable. ICS would be great and all, but she can stay in Gingerbread if that is the only stable ROM available.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this! Have a great day ahead!
Well if your mom is not all that techie then don't make a leap to a custom rom, the only 100% fully stable rom is the stock one right now. If you want, root the phone for her. If she wants an ICS look install Holo Launcher and get some ICS wallpapers, that is the best you can get to making the phone ICS-like.
But as for your question, the most stable are these:
1. Stocklite v7.1 (Closest thing to stock, but better because it gets rid of the Samsung bloatware.)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703094
2. Apocalypse ROM (CM 7.2 based for best perfromance i.e. faster gps locks, better memory optimization etc, but you will take a battery hit, not a lot but battery drain will be higher here)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1700749
I've used both of these roms for months on end and they never game me any problems, so you are safe with anyone you choose.
Happy Flashing.
I came across the Apocalypse ROM in my search. It looked promising. Nice to know a confirmation from a user. Thank you very much!
Hopefully I won't have to keep maintaining the phone for her. I am used to having my data backed up and wiped, then restored, but she doesn't like the whole flashing cycle.
Thanks again! I will proceed with the installation tonight.

Most Stable ICS Rom
Hi Pals, which would be the most stable ICS Rom out here.
Please help me, i am new to this forum.
Myth 2 for me hands down + INT2EXT+ = best thing to happen to your Ace.
Thanks for the suggestions guys! I went ahead with apocalypse for now, but when the ICS or JB builds get more stable, I might offer her another update. For now she is really happy with it.
i think for stable custom rom, you can choose :
- apocalypse
- droidace V2
- Miracle V4
but if you want something different, you can choose new MIUIXXX rom, im still using it n i love it..

Fastest and most stable rom (Perhaps non-sense?)

Greetings!
My friend asked me if I could speed up his incredible S, and I told him that I could try and install a new rom on it.
However, I don´t know a thing about Incredible S roms. I am looking for a stable and fast rom, he is an android noob
so it has to have little to no bugs. Also ICS or JB would be good.
I don´t know if MIUI is available for this phone, but if so, is it fast and bug free? How about AOKP or CM9/10?
Which roms would you guys recommend, I´d like to try some non-sense
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium HD app
MIUI works great on this For AOKP I would try IceCold. CM9/CM10 are still full of bugs here but if you want you can have a look at them also. I would recommend CodeNameAndroid, as it has got the coolest tweaks
I'd recommend you to give Paranoid Android a try.
Except for some kernel related stuff, there are no major issues, and yes - it is responsive. And with some undervolting I get really good battery life out of it as well, even though I overclock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1863862
*edit*
"little to no bugs"
Well, CyanogenMod 7, MIUI or Sense-ROM's seems to be your options in that case.
Pretty much every AOSP/AOKP ROM with ICS/JB will have the same bugs since the current kernels that are used for them are hacked to work... so if he doesn't want any bugs he should stay away from ICS/JB ROM's that are AOSP/AOKP - for now at least, but if it doesn't matter that much if some stuff isn't working properly and so on: go for Paranoid Android or Codename android.

Miui gingerbread was based off CM7 so it didn't have many problems
Miui ICS is based off HTC's ICS ruu so there are not many problems either. Some problems from the chinese miui release were fixed by spongychicken. His rom is in the dev section, have a look
Codename android has my vote. It is a great JB ROM. however, it does have a few bugs.

I used to have stock Gingerbread on my SGS I9000. Then I switched to DarkyROM ICS, which was okay. After a while I came across the SlimRoms website, which was still developing Slim ICS at the time, so I flashed ICS, which was brilliant. Shortly after the Slim team started working on SlimBean, and after reaching a stable version I tried it for myself, a decision I am glad I made.
SlimBean is by far the lightest, fastest ROM I've used so far. Give it a try for yourself and you'll see how amazing, lag-free it is. I'm using version 3.1 with the Semaphore kernel version 2.6.2s.
Hi,
I've flashed many roms on my i9000 : Miui, cyanogen 7, Cyanogen 9, Jelly Bean, ICs..... but for me the best one is the JW8 SAUROM.
Stable, fast, GS3 Theme and a very good battery life !!
Since i am on this rom i don't want to flash another one !
Slim 3.1 with semaphore 2.6
If someone help me i definitely HIT THANKS....
Your question must be more specific, and I'll try to explain...
In my opininon the are only 2 developers team which should be considered, first CyanogeneMod which leads because of it's bigger number of devs (so more supported devices). 2nd is AOKP, which I personally prefer because it's more designale and more good looking, but also very stable. I've tested hardly both, but 5th build from AOKP has best battery life, so I'm never going back to CM, only for new tests, making new statistics etc.
Hope I helped, greetings

But not alll stock rom 2.3.x can be flash with semaphore.. and not all i9000 can be flash with the same s/rom. But still semaphore 2.7.4 is the best way to get cwm. If flashi v semaphore causing boot failure, try to flash with other s/rom and re-flash semaphore.

The idea of two developers was what I was thinking as well when I was making a decision either to stay on stock 2.3.6 or flash something new. CM9 is more "readable" for me in terms of numbering and Stable/Nightly/Experimental. Even tough I do not understand how come there is a stable version followed by nightly builds.
When watching some videos and screens of AOKP I felt it might be even better but I got confused in the numbering (which of the builds is the most stable as I need a working phone not a phone to be flashed twice a week).
For me the best ROM is SlimBean with Semaphore Kernel!:good:

C-Rom Mix V9 here - it's a near perfect ROM. Stable, everything is where it supposed to be. Very smooth operating. My last phone - XPERIA ARC S was destroyed (and its hardware is superior to that of i9000) - Galaxy - being slower by half is faster when speaking about this system operation. There are some hiccups with number recognition sometimes (like 1/10 phone calls and only till i pick up - so no showstopper for sure ). The camera is limited to just basic functions - but is working perfectly fine. The calendar is more basic than in ICS modded ROM for ARC S. The battery last for a day or less - but here i cannot say if the battery in my phone is just old or is this ROM (i got the phone used and the battery is 2,5 yo). And these are my only complaints - not much I have MUUUUUUUCH more complaints on every other stock/modded rom for Galaxy & ARC S
It's my daily ROM more than a week now.
