Is it possible to unlock a rogers htc dream g1 to a telus network
Im getting mixed messages from unlocking company's
Someone told me "That phone will not work on hspa"
But people say they have unlocked it to telus?
Im buying a second hand phone to replace my bl40
So its it possible to use my telus sim for the htc dream?
I am not quite sure. Rogers is GSM, Telus and Bell used to be CDMA only networks, but they have built a sizeable GSM network now, so you could concievably use an unlocked Rogers phone with a Bell GSM sim card, you'd have to check the bands to be certain though. Try calling up Bell and asking, tell them you're thinking of bringing an unlocked Rogers phone over.
It will work fine. Robelus all use the same HSPA 850/1900.
So will the Verizon Model work on T-mobile's 3g bc it is $439 $112 less then the Incredible S.
Here are the specs
* Network: CDMA 800/1900MHz + UMTS/HSPA 900/2100MHz + GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900MHz
It will not work on tmous network. 1700/2100 is missing. In fact, Verizon might freeze the at&t network too

Thank you
WORDS WORDS
i dont understand, if its a world phone, hows it gonna work in Europe and Asia without the 1700/2100 bands for 3G GSM.

Verizon doesn't "freeze" the phone it was actually AT&T

Dinc 2 will not work in the US. It has been locked out of both ATT & TMO. European and Asian 3G bands are 900/2100. The Dinc S version works on TMO 4G. I have it. If you are buying make sure you get the version that says AWS on it.
The model S710E is the one that works on T-Mobile 3g network ... keep in mind if youre on tmobile , bell and Verizon version don't work on T-Mobile ..
I hope there would be more phones made like this one that can take advantage of tmobile's tzone/web2go. The only reason Iam considered the IS is because of its AWS band.
So, I'm using a P925 thrill AT&T branded which is UNLOCKED on T-mobile USA. But only getting 2G edge data speeds, and I'm being told no matter what I do, or what baseband I flash, I will never get anything other than edge on this device. My question is, is there a comparable device that DOES offer 3g/4g T-mobile USA compatibility?
I'm trying to migrate from unlocked iPhone's (again, using on T-mobile USA) to Android - simply because I'm bored of iPhone's... Have had them all except the 4S - but have a iPhone 4 so its pretty much the same thing. While I know the 3D of the Thrill is a little gimmicky, I think its one of the coolest "gimmicks" to hit in a long time, and because I only recently got a 3D TV -- well, recording 3D video's and watching them at home is pretty effin cool.
So, am I stuck with a T-mobile branded Galaxy device if I want 4G or 3G on T-mobile USA?
Any advice would be helpful, since I'm pretty much an Android Noob! THANKS!
If I remember correctly the optimus 3d might work with t-mobile usa. But you might have to double check just to make sure .
This is off topic, but how did you unlock your phone?
You should be able to use the 2100 UMTS band with T-Mobile, but I believe you need both the 1700 and 2100 bands for full 3G. If so, you need a baseband for either T-Mobile, Wind or another Canadian Carrier with T-Mo's 3G bands. The nice thing about this phone is it's flexibility of use with other networks by baseband flash. (Now we need other leaked GB basebands.... Ugh.)
If you want a non branded Android phone that works on Tmobile 3G/4G bands look at the Incredible S, Sensation (International Version), Sensation XE, Nexus Galaxy, the TELUS version of the Galaxy S II and the Nexus S.

yes o3d p920 works. but there are 2 versions of p920. make sure it has 1700mhz baseband. this is where i bought
http://www.atgsm.com/LG_P920_Optimus_3D_Black_p/phone-lgp920black.htm
So are there any basebands available that I can flash to my p925 to get t-mobile usa 3g/4g speed?
Q: how did I unlock my p925?
I took it to a store, and they unlocked it for me.

I am also looking for this baseband so I can get my LG Thrill 4G to work with 3G (or hopefully 4G) speeds on T-Mobile. Please share the love!
I'm only getting 2G speeds on T-Mobile (I am in the USA, San Francisco area).
I talked to a T-Mobile employee today who said he gets 4G at home and that it had already been deployed in our area. He went on to say that non-Tmo devices wouldn't be capable of picking up 4G. The dev edition has a 4G radio so it would make sense that it should pick up T-Mobile's 4G network, right?
The Dev edition supports AWS LTE so yes, it should pick it up.
I have a att One
its unlocked on tmobile.
I get signal 4g most areas and lte sometimes... Being a quad band phone isn't it supposed to be equally as strong as a actual tmobile variant as far as getting constant lte if u compare the two devices both using a tmobile sim... My att unlocked drops 4g and a Tmobile One variant side by side at the same time holds 4g lte all bars.
So my idea was any benefit or fix if I was to
Soff supercid and flash a shipped tmobile ruu over the att One.
Would I in return gain the equal signal strength Vs just flashing a tmobile Rom?

No.
HTC ATT One is differnet then HTC T-Mobile HTC One.
T-Mobile has Penta band chip and ATT has quad band.
T-Mobile has 1700mhz added to it.. So comparing signal between the two is not equal.
But i could be wrong. Its been brought up in other discussions that the T-Mobile variant is the better one due to additional frequency coverage.
The ATT and Google Play edition share the same hardware and that hardware is different from the T-Mobile variant.

I get all that...
I do know the htc one doesnt require soff to flash a diff carrier based rom.. but as far as a stock ruu from another carrier bot sure.. I just thought I'd gain maybe a better radio or something that would make it equal signal...
But as u said about the 1700 band maybe that's the issue..but I thought the att one like the att note supported it... Cause I do get lte.
Just the amount of time it holds it Vs the amount if time a tmobile one holds lte is way different.
I've also seen this same scenario on every single att unlocked phone I've used on tmobile. The lte or 4g stays and sticks longer on a tmobile branded device with a tmo sim.
Maybe there's no way around it.
