Name: Civil Disobedience
Hey guys, this is the first game I've release for the WP7 platform. It was a blast to make, and I love using XNA. It's a simple side-scrolling game, very easy to pick up and play. Currently, it's got 4 out of 5 stars in the market, and mostly positive reviews. Hopefully it will help round out the game catalog for the time being. If you guys have any questions feel free to comment, and check out our site/twitter/facebook while your at it.
Thank You,
Mark Suddon

I'm new so I can't post links, just replace the xttp with a http, or copy the link after!
I actually was the first one to comment on it in the German marketplace.
Fun game, I like it!
Thanks for sharing!

Danke shoen! Ich bin froh, dass du das Spiel genossen.
Sorry, my German is pretty terrible even though I lived in Ulm for three months!
Fun stuff man!
You should figure out if you can start music while in an XNA app, and if so, allow playing.
Just so you know, if you're playing music when you start the game, the game music doesn't play, and the OS doesn't ask if you want to switch to the game music.
I love retro games good work .
it is so frustrating that you can't stop
maybe you can make a port of kings valley 2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King%27s_Valley_II

It's actually a requirement in the Docs that the game music can't override the currently playing music. Unfortunately I'm not really able to test out the music playing/pausing functions 'cause I don't have my grubby little hands on a device

I've definitely been rolling some ideas around in my head about what to make next. Judging by the generally positive reviews I've received, I might just go ahead and keep working.
Nice
Very nice game I love it.. I'm also making a game as well Xna is the best!
Great game!! Simple but addictive! Thanks for it
Hi everyone
After the semifinals yesterday I thought I'd download an app for keeping track on the artists in ESC. What do you know... Couldn't find one...
So I put a simple one together so I'd have one for the finals.
The newspapers always have a page where you can grade the contestants, but I thought it'd be nicer with an app for us techies.
The app shows the contestants in order and allows you to see the lyrics for the songs. It also allows you to rate the contestants with a 5-star system and write notes about them. On one page you can see them contestants listed in the order you voted.
Since this was made in the matter of hours I didn't really put the energy to support light theme... so if you want to use it during the finals, switch to dark theme.
This app won't go to the marketplace, but if there are any dev geeks here who'd like to install the XAP and run it, it is attached for your pleasure.
It might seem stuck at start but give at a few secs and it should run fine... Heeey what do you expect from a few hours work.
Anyway... if you like it... compensate me by sending a phone vote for the Finnish contestant. I'm not from Finland, but Paradise Oskar kicks butt.
Haha. I was considering building one for the finals, but I couldn't find an easy way to get all the data without hard coding it all in - seemed like more trouble than it was worth!
i tried the app. It's pretty cool, but too late released!
Heh... sorry about the late release date, but it was released on the same day it was built
In regards, to the lyrics I made a quick and ugly hack to get it in quickly.
I pasted the lyrics into a function in VS and made a regex-replace and surrounded each row by a stringbuilder appendline
Yep.. ugly... but faaast
Will it support 2012 Eurovision ?
Nice program. I very like this songs.
very cool app...
great
So, I've had a stagnant playlist for a week or two now and could use the help of all of you down here at the gates of madness known affectionately as Off-Topic.
Music I LOVE: Tool, A Perfect Circle, The Doors, Deftones, Team Sleep, She Wants Revenge, Led Zepplin, Deadmau5, Underoath, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Volbeat, Prodigy, Pendulum, Puscifer, The Killers, Muse, Breathe Carolina, Tenacious D, Pink Floyd, All That Remains, Killswitch Engage, Marilyn Manson, Dubstep (wub wub wub =D).. oh I could go on for days with this, I just want to illustrate my taste (and it's diversity).
Music I'd rather not listen to: Most Country or Gangsta Rap
Ok well thanks for taking the time to read this! Post anything, I'm pretty open minded musically, and I'll post some of my favorites and we can help each other out!
Thaaaaaanks!
Please link me to your favorite songs, I'll do the same! Mobile friendly videos preferred but anything works
Kneel before your Mage-God!
I'll open it up with some Breathe Carolina - "Sweat it Out". A very well done animated lyric vid that is also mobile viewing friendly.

And some Chester French - "She Loves Everybody"

And one from the God of music himself, Maynard James Keenan. Tool - "Stinkfist"

What song specifically do you like the most? I've heard them before, but I would like to know your favorite
Kneel before your Mage-God!
You should try http://www.last.fm/
Tell it what kind of music you like and it will introduce you to loads of new stuff. It's very good (mostly).

Yeah I spend a lot of time on Pandora and LastFm, they're great and all but I was looking more for everyone's favorites or maybe largely unknown bands I might not have heard of. Specifically interested in what you like personally

Yes, and YES! I also like Chevelle most of it although I havent spent much time listening to their new stuff.
Thank you all for the replies! I was kind of hoping more for links to specific songs or at least maybe an artist and song title (probably should've been more specific in OP, I've edited it now XD). I have almost 1000 songs on my sd card and I think I need to clean it up and add some stuff I've never listened to before. So let's do this, let the song links and titles flow!
The Who, Cream, Jimi Hendrix (Experience), The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Free, AC/DC, Bob Dylan, Whitesnake,... This is what I listen to mostly.
¤The statement below is true.
The statement above is false.¤

All of those are great bands, I especially LOVE Jimi Hendrix. Not to be mainstream but "All Along the Watchtower" is one of my absolute favorite songs, one of them (I have SO many). Anyway, thank you and link up a song from one of those you consider one of your favorites.
Here's a slower song from Digital Daggers (the singers voice is sooo sexy), the song is called "I Surrender"

Wow what a fantastic app! Will you be adding features to rewind and fast forward? (maybe they're implemented and I just didn't see where). Also, how about adding dubbed anime's as well? Lastly, do you accept donations? I like supporting developers who create apps I enjoy such as this one to hopefully see it getting continually updated!
Thanks

There are exceptions of course, but these exceptions are so rare that there is no reason to include dubs. The producers don't care who they hire for english voice actors, and it shows.
The only acceptable compromise is if the videos have two separate audio streams, so you can manually select english if you really feel the need to...

So, it looks like I completely forgot to do this, oops.
I'm Jordan. I generally do the weekly (or semiweekly) news recaps for the XDA Portal, but I got my start on YouTube with my other channel, http://youtube.com/thisweekinlinux, where I talked about Linux news, created screencast-style tutorials, and reviewed Linux distributions.
I've recently relaunched my YouTube "career" by creating a new channel, http://youtube.com/twildottv, where I'll be talking about not only Linux, but Android, hardware, software, and just geeky topics in general. Feel free to subscribe if you like my content!
I'm around pretty regularly, so feel free to ask me whatever you like!
UPDATE: As of this past weekend, I'm also running a gaming channel on YouTube, http://youtube.com/twilplays, where I'll be doing gaming commentary on all sorts of different platforms, and hopefully doing some tabletop gaming videos as well in the future. Check that out, if you're interested!

I actually liked the previous hosts as well. They were a large part of the reason I wanted to be a on XDA TV in the first place. I have to thank them for the foundation they helped build for the channel, and I hope that I can continue to do it justice in the coming days/weeks/months/whatever until people get tired of watching me.

Thanks, Quinny! I was trying to upload it to the minecraft.net profile page, yes. Tried just a downloaded one from one of the referenced minecraft skins sites, and then one that I edited myself, and no dice either time. I also went through and did the migration to the Mojang account thing, and tried uploading afterward. No luck.
Definitely seems that the servers are just having issues. I'll try again later today and see if it works.
Jordan, since I see you are a linux guy, could you please do a video about NANDROID for the HTC Touch HD (WinMo phone) which is on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914723 ??
Maybe you could talk a little bit about the ROM and possibly help on our biggest problem to make this ROM a daily driver: Wifi. The problem is kernel related, and all functions work on the SD builds, which run by executing Handheld Reverse Engineering Tool (or HaRET). Of course, with a NAND ROM, we would boot up Linux right away!
I know it's Gingerbread only, and the kernel is only a .27, but everyone is waiting for a fully functional ROM for this device. Maybe later we could upgrade kernel and, who knows, maybe moving to ICS.
I'm not asking for a whole new video about this, just asking you to talk about it when you report the news (which I think is every week).
Thank you for reading,
