I'm getting ready to rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 and I want to know in "your opinion" what you think is the best rom for the note. I'm running CM9 on my AT&T Samsung galaxy s2 i777. I really like cyanogenMod but I really want to know what everyone is using. I'm going to be using this as my phone for the next month, so I need it do everything.
P.S. Is there a samsung galaxy note gt-n7000 index that shows all the roms that have been made.
i'll quote "No ROM Is stable as you expect" it's a modification you'll occasionly have FC's either you get used to it or you're better off STOCK mate
currently i tried Midnote, CM9, Stunner, and other GB ROM lets say for ics it's too early to decide if stable enough, Stunner as named is stunning with many options to customize.
BTW it's not your first root so why don't you try them all and decide by yourself... best i guess GL

I tell.
my Note best for ICS Stunner 1.4.95 new version what this beter than beta 5.0
and not simple root make. You can to ICS Stunner 1.4.95 than see you self what you find.
I'd like this ICS Stunner looks like my previous galaxy sgii with wanalite 10.4
you have to try ICS Stunner take you will not regret
I tried Criskelo ICS and Stunner ICS. I like Stunner better with more control options, longer battery life and faster however for my SGN Criskelo seems to be more stable.
For GB rom, I tried Cassie's XtraLiteRom, Chrack´s rom, and DarkyROM. They seem to be more stable than the ICS roms. I like Chrack´s rom the best since it has the options that I like. For example you can choose to install the full or small rom.

Try DarkyROM v10.4.2 [XWJW1] with Semaphore. It's amazing.
gamerzrom v10 is very well. You can creat some script to improve the speed
google for damain gto kernel they r not here.but its a powerfull kernel
If your planning to upgrade to ICS might I recommend SlimICS, it breaths new life to my
Galaxy S and feels brand new again, very snappy and im loving it... why Samsung claims
that ICS wont run on Galaxy S is beyond me.
Hi,
My wife has Jetpack V9 (XXJVU) ROM on her Galaxy S (I9000) and the performance of the ROM is awful. Very slow most of the time.
In fact, I would like to try an ICS rom on the phone but she uses Samsung's native 3G video call feature which is not available in Android by default. So she needs a rom with Samsung framework.
It has been some time since I checked the ROMS for Galaxy S. Is there any development on this subject ?
I mean, do we have any ICS rom with 3G video call support ?=
If not, would anyone recommend me to use another "value pack" GingerBread rom ? like this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626068&highlight=value+pack&page=31
Thanks.
I would really appreciate if anyone could comment on this...
I think that any rom has it... Because Samsung framework for SGS it's not released by Samsung to be Open Source, so in a CM(7/9) or MIUI are very difficult to find it.
But you could try any latest Samsung modified rom (JW6).
I hope it helps you!
Thanks but what do you mean by Samsung modified rom ?
is it ICS ?
can you give me an example of JW6 rom ?
Samsung modified rom means custom stock rom. There's not Samsung ICS stock rom for our mobile, just a pack with ICS features.
JW6 example:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1608790
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1689513
You also could try with JW5:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626068
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656081
Remember that JW6 or JW5 or JW4 don't mean ICS but Gingerbread with ICS features.
There's a lot of custom roms based on Samsung stock. I don't know everyone, these are examples I found.
Don't even try to find any ics rom video call feature ,ics not support video calling try to use skype or fring or use gingerbread value pakcs they are also good (xxjw4)

GB value pack for I9000 is real good. It has everything that's in a stock GB and some new features to spice it up.
But when i used it the WiFi took a long time to wake up from sleep, was really annoyed with that.
If you wanna use video chat i recommend going back to stock GB ROM and flash a nice kernel to speed things up, And try not to brick your phone.
Thank you AnMOS. That's more than enough.
That's the same reason I went back to JW6. I was loving slim ICS but the lack of native video calling compelled me to go back. Why would they not include that feature anyway? It has been existing for the past five years or so (I think).
Hello everyone!!
Just a quick question for everyone here. I purchased my note a couple months and it came rooted with Paranoid. Since then I have tried a whole lot of roms since then. But they all seem to lag at one point. Even with OC
My work phone is a Galaxy S2. With the ICS upgrade from Bell, the phone is a rocket. Bone stock, battery life is great and the Quadrant results are fantastic.
If stock ICS is faster, smoother, and overall better experience, how would I go about installing it? I'm assuming Odin, and Sammobile.com. But what files should I be searching for? Can I install any .tar file? Im more worried about getting English on the phone after I install ICS from another country lol.
Im familiar with CWM. But not too familiar with Odin yet. I just want to make sure I get the right files.
Don't try anything with Odin and or stock ics roms as you can get a unsafe kernel and brick your phone.. Most likely you can flash with cwm every rom in dev section.. Try cyanogenmod9 its awesome.. And buttery smooth

Stock ICS is not smoother, faster and more stable it just seems so because of touchwiz's stmooth performance.(Also, if stock ICS was a better experience then nobody would be searching and making custom ROMs ) CM9 is much better and is more stable too.
Also it's better to stay away from stock ICS as it may come with an unsafe kernel--rather it will come with an unsafe kernel, as the guy above said.Anyways, that's just my my opinion.
If you wanna install a stock ICS rom, I'd go about flashing a stock GB ROM and then flashing the stock ICS ROM using Kies. For stock GB roms, check out dr.ketan's thread.

slim ics 4.2 with seapahore kernel......
stable,lag free with excellent battery.....
Another thread with the same question! ICS333 in my experience is the best, though slim is one of the few I haven't tried!

I'd also root for Slim, faster than CM9 in my experience and never disappointed me. No need to flash Semaphore though IMO, the stock kernel also is working great.
I dont own the S1 anymore, but before i sold it, i have used "DarkyROM". This was the best ROM i've ever used. Fast, stable and good.
I i would the S1 again, i would install DarkyROM again.
RemICS v1.3
I use it daily and it's wonderful...
I would say cm9 with devil kernel.
I used TeamICSSGS' rom. Was very happy with it but today swapped it for Jelly bean.
for crying out loud, there's about 5 threads like this now .....why don't you people just read? ! :banghead::banghead::banghead:
Well said slappy....
In addition to it, dont ask which one is good as the one good for someone wont fit in your case so best answer it just test roms until you find the one for you ;-)

Get CM9 RC2 which has been released today. Its stable version.
You can directly install Slim ICS. There is no need to install CM9 before installing Slim ICS.

Darky rom ONLY does official Samsung ROMs... since ICS was never officially released for the i9000 , there is no Darky ICS rom for the galaxy S...
Edit: OK so it seems after Darky Rom split and the others formed TeamAlliance, Darky has decided to make AOSP ROMs as well while Alliance doesn't...
Therefore cdwriter was right... there is a Darky ICS...

Best ICS ROM?
I have tried almost ALL the ICS Roms out there. And i can confidently say that i have found AOKP to be the baddest of 'em all. Not even CM9 mind you.
Make sure you use the NEW DataFix script by Windego (the 20120524) and NOT the older one (20120329).
Use the ROM with Devil Kernel (0.79 version) Choose Voodoo Colors or CMC, your choice. Before flashing this kernel, make sure you remove the already included init.d datafix script. (Open the package in WinRAR, navigate to system > etc > init.d > remove file named "S30dafafix)

why don't you give it a try and see if you like it.
you can always restock, flash overcome again.
for p1000 gb still the best rom. everything runing good and game runing better then ics.

Moved thread to Q&A section. OP half the fun of being rooted is flashing and testing different things out. Everyone is going to have a different opinion so give them both a try and compare for yourself
