I have an LG Thrill 4G. The LG Updater tool is giving me issues (wont' recognise my phone even though I've installed the correct drivers) so I found a kdz file for the new Android 2.3 update and I'm trying to figure out how to use it.
I can't seem to get KDZ Updater to work either.
Try this it should help

So I can get the update? Having some of the same trouble others have had, trying to connect to the internet, my missing www file, ect. Went back to Thiller for the time being. Hey boys and girls,
Hm, how to begin? Ok, i messed it up. I have LG P990 and by my stupidity i accidentaly upgrade my P990 with P999 firmware, and of course phone is not working now If i want to use smartflash or whatever i have to make it think it's P990 first. The thing is wireless is not working either so any kind of Clockwork is not possible. Any ideas how can i fix this? I'm in Afghanistan so it's little bit difficult to get stuff from mediafire, fileserve etc. Please someone give me good and quality idea
Thanks in advance
no solution if you still have warranty, then go to replace it, are 2 phones completely differents in hardware questions
SORRY FOR BAD ENGLISH
No you can use nvflash to flash a stock ROM, root, install cwm and you're done. You can grab nvflash rescue toolkit from Rusty! somewhere in dev thread to just flash directly cwm only, then in cwm mount USB storage in Mount and Storage menu, to copy a ROM zip file and then flash it.

I really don't now what to do anymore. Hope you guys can help (Ooh and i can't find nvflash rescue toolkit)
Try smart flash tool. It is easy to use. You can find it on most of xda development thread s.

I have made a mistake at the middle of the night, and its not being with the wrong girl. It was trying to flash the korean android 4.0 version to my p990 with smartflash tool which i now know is not the same phone as the su660 in korea. but i was so desperate to get android 4.0 to my phone so I used the LG-P970 ROM COVERTER Automatic converter. I now know that that is only for the lg uptimus black, but did not see that when i downloaded it. Then i converted the kdz file to bin files and used smart-flash tools to force install it. Everything went well except when i pushed the power botten after installation, it stooped at the beautiful LG logo and i cant get in to the recovery mode. Then i thought i could save this by use of the nvflash program witch after i understand should re-partition my phone again. The drivers for this nvflash program i installed like ages ago cause I've been using it so many times, so i know they work. But NO! it could not safe my precious piece of hardware, i get the error code: failed executing command 14 Nv-Error 0x12000, Command failure partition download failed. So i guess i have a totally messed up partition table. Is there even anything remotely i can do about this or is this phone forever gone?
Well, you FAILED like a boss.
P990 is not a SU660 & vice-versa

You were too desperate, 4.0 ain't that good to risk your phone. If other devs haven't been able without source to do much what makes you think you could of!

I don't think you'll have a permanently bricked phone, based on what i've read on these forums the o2x is basically unbrickable. I'm kind of a noob when it comes to the o2x though, so don't quote me on that.
Something that I have seen mentioned for similar issues is NVflash. Again, I have no idea, but search the forum for that and give it a shot...
Good luck!
EDIT: oh oops, didn't read all the way, you said you tried NVFlash. Sorry, I have no idea what to do then...
Follow these and you should manage to get it to work (again).

So my phone got really corrupted and now a bunch of stuff doesnt work like the Play App Store, Backup Assistant, etc etc and I get random freezes and reboots like 50 times a day, and the battery is draining so damn fast, its all messed up. So I wanna flash back to ZV8 and then update to ZV9, and I was given a link to a thread that has all the versions of ZVx available. I clicked on the link for the ZV8 files and it brought me to here - http://www.mediafire.com/?jh23a065508ii - which has quite a few files in it and I am not sure which ones I actually need. So can someone tell me which Files I need in order to follow the instructions given here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19154278
I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I found a link that someone posted on the last page or two.

I used the link for v9 this same post the last time to flash my phone!!

no ZV9 is fine, that was originally what i wanted, but if you click on the link for the ZV9 files in that dudes thread that i gave the link to, the files weren't there, megaupload said the folder was empty. So that's why I was just gonna do ZV8 and then update to ZV9. So yea, ZV9 will work perfectly, thank you very much
I've tried following this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-flash-stock-kdz-offline-lg-l90-t2803479), but it just isn't working for me. The tool gets stuck at 49% whenever I try to flash the D41510c version. I couldn't download the drivers using the tool either so I manually installed the drivers from LG's website (not sure if that makes a difference). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm really stumped
Got it and a little assistance
Where did you manage to find the kdz file for the 10c version? All I could get from the link provided was the 10e which is that latest update that caused the issue....
Nevermind...I managed to get it to go through. As soon as it did, I was able to use TowelRoot to root my phone. PM me for the drivers link and the 415-10c if you still need them. I'm not at 10 posts yet this time around to be able to add them here.

Can you email me those drivers please?
It's easy to search the forums.
The drivers will be automatically installed using the attached program (directly from LG).http://www.xanscorp.org Just go to the program download file under XanTech.
Uploading the kdz also...but that'll take some time due to its size.
Can you report back if you were able to get this done?
I was reading through the guide and all downloaded items are bit confusing.
Do you know of the guide that is clear and concise step by step - and that offers download of only things I need, and not 5 times tools that are not needed?
The server for my page would not allow the size, but it's also here: http://oudhitsquad.com/android/?dir=LGE/Firmware/D415

Wanted to do a complete backup of my drive or download a factory KDZ (Sprint) before crossflashing and rooting. Always like to have an option to go back to stock if something goes wrong. Does anyone have a robust method of doing this? So far I had little luck with getting 'Dump' to work in LGUP.
As far as KDZ images, seems like the only ones available are hosted by other people. Is there a way to obtain a KDZ using any of the LG software tools? LG Bridge, LGUP, etc?

Looking at this also. It does appear using LGUP is problematic, or rather not easy to find the right DLL etc to make it work. And from what I've read, it's basically because the Mfg's don't want anyone to be able to do that.
The other option is hopefully to do it with Qfil. Not sure if there is an 'automated' type function with it, but you *could* select ea partition manually (which would take forever). I did see some threads from XDA on doing just that, but haven't read through them thoroughly yet. It may be the only way.
cheers

Well a little late to reply
Q: "Is there a way to obtain a KDZ using any of the LG software tools? LG Bridge, LGUP, etc?"
A: Yes but, what you would pull would be an OTA and sometimes it's a full KDZ but most times it's just updated files sent to the phone depending on the carrier/country.
And Sprint is one of those carriers that doesn't send a full KDZ in the OTA.
Now to have a back up you have to routes LG UP or Qfil and see what works...
