I am currently using PrimeHD V6.0 for stock kernel.
I do not use LED notifications at all. And they prove to be a battery drainer for me.
Is there any way to COMPLETELY disable LED notifications.
I know that there is an option to disable LED notifications at night. But it is ONLY for night.
Any option ? Any application for complete disable ?
P.S - I don't mind LED light when charging.
get a screw driver and a hammer and break the led, permanently stopped
hope thats helped

Thank You for that unhelpful reply :/
Switch to GDX. It has that option.
You can set the disabling duration too.

Hi friends,
I have little question about these led buttons on the right/left side from the homebutton.
Is it possible to completely disable them, to save some battery?
I tried bln pro, but only notification options possible there.
Thx

Umm they dont really use any battery at all..
They are most probably a few miliwatts each buddy - as are most on board led's, i wouldnt worry about it, having your screen on for 5 seconds would use more power than they do in a full discharge cycle..

Haha. Is ok. Can. Under setting there is a additional leds found. There will show led light that found on your device and set it as notification light even your screen backlight.

I had problems with Lightflow as well. It was installed when I updated and seemed to work ok until I turned on Stamina. Then my flashing green notification that I have to tell me phones on and in signal, stopped and it was flashing a really slow and dim pinkish colour even though there was nothing set to that. Soon after that though I was hit by charging bug so I repaired software and factory reset only to still be hit by the charging bug.
I'm waiting for the UK unbranded software to come out now so I can install that and reinstall apps and do a proper test. I refuse to play about much when i'm going to have to reflash my correct software in the next few days (weeks... months... whatever). Sony need to pull their finger out with this one now. It's beyond understanding why they would do half a roll out on a Friday afternoon then not continue it first thing on Monday.
It's been 4 years of Galaxy S I9000 and no developer has yet developed a method to turn off the capacitive button light. This is very necessary as it could help with the very low battery capacity. I strongly request developers to concentrate their skills on this, to disable the light and thereby prevent the irritation to eye during the night & save a lot of juice.
Please Help
Thanks

Pardon me if I misunderstood your question.
If you just want the buttons not to turn on when receiving an sms (i.e. acting as notification led) then CyanogenMod has that option, just go into Settings->CyanogenMod->Audio->Quiet hours (or something to that effect), set from, say, 2:00 to 1:59 (all day minus 1') and check last option (Dim LED or something).
If you want them not to light up under any circumstance, well, I don't think I'd use that setting but I guess it'd be nice to have!
I want the lights permanently disabled.
Try adding qemu.hw.mainkeys =0 to the build.prop file of your phone. Just let me know if that helped. PS: If you're using Nightlies, the build.prop file keeps resetting.

Say, are you on a Custom ROM?
I think "qemu.hw.mainkeys" is to disable the virtual button bar on JB roms and not to turn off the soft key backlights (although i could be wrong?). You can add an init.d script that shortens how long they stay on for (i don't think you can turn them off completely) i set mine to 000 sec and they stayed on permanently so i set it to 001 sec and that works for me. Do a search for the init.d script, it's on xda somewhere.
On certain custom ROMs, they do act as a notification LED. So, that stays on until you turn in the phone. So all you have to is go to Settings>Display>Notification Lights (it will be called something similar) and then turn it off. Some ROMs could have a different way to turn it off. Also, I don't think that you lose battery when they turn on as you click on the buttons.
Cheers! The thanks button is right there... Just saying..

Anybody tried light flow yet?
Works like a sharm! No root necessary. The new notification light is much better then the speaker built in thing from the z1c.
Tested "Light Manager" and that works, too.
Can't seem to change the charging led though
Yup, I have the paid for version of Light Flow setup and working perfectly!

I just tested and i can't get light flow to change the charging LED. It doesn't even turn off if you disable the notification light in Androids DIsplay settings.

To bad. It's keeping me awake at night and really holding me from buying a dock.

I've been able to sort of fix this using Light Manager. I select a really dark color (almost black) for both charging and fully charged set it to be always on (no blinking).
It's kinda finicky, though, and sometimes it takes a few moments until it LM takes over from the built in notification light. For me, Light Manager works better than Light Flow. YMMV, it's possible to do this with both of them.

Just wanted to say that I have done this with Light Flow and it works great. It still shows the default charging colours when the screen is on, but when it's off it uses the ones in light flow. The trick is to use anything but totally black. I set it with the HEX code to FF000001 and it works.
That is on a full-size Z3 but I can't imagine the hardware is different regarding LEDs.
I use light manager and it does work with a dark colour to set the charging/charged led colour. (dark blue)
BUT
When I use sleep mode (so I get to notification lights) the charging/charged trick doesn't work ....
So I have to dissable sleep mode
anyone has a solution for this?
Lightflow doesn't seem to work for me neither.
Is there any other option without rooting the device (no option, as it's for the device of my girlfriend)
Works perfectly for me. Keep trying. Make sure it's enabled in settings security notification access.

Hmmmm very good point. Thx for the advice. I think I activated this after the installation of Light Flow. I remember some red info message bugging me But to be honest I can't find this setting anymore. Where can I reconfigure/ review this?

Ahh Thx But this doesn't seem to be the problem. Checkbox for Lightflow is checked there.
Will keep trying to get it working.
Thanks a lot for the help so far.
Light flow works like a charm for me and love how I set colour per notification type it's the only app that works 100%
There used to be an option to turn off the notification LED on blocking mode so that it didn't light up your room while sleeping. It appears that is no longer an option. Does anyone know of a solution to be able to disable the LED for specific hours each day? I tried Lightflow, but had some issues with it and there was not an option to set specific hours. Thanks in advance!
I don't think the LED is that bright to "light up your room".....
If it bugs you that much, turn it face down, or put something over the LED to cover just that one part of the phone.

LOL! Easy fix. Cut her eyes out. Then ask her which did she like more, the ability to see or not? I'm sure she will say sight, but then you give her the bad news that you can't fix her blindness due to you not being a doctor (unless you are, then operate).
To fix your problem though, try Settings > Accessibility > Notification Reminder > LED Indicator
Hope that works.
Have you tried "do not disturb" in your toggle buttons? Says it'll silence calls & notifications, not sure if it will disable led. Ultra power saving mode might also disable led.

I have tried do not disturb and it does not turn off the LED for me. I have not tried ultra power saving mode. I am, however, hoping for something more automated based on time. Thanks for the response.

Wow...that escalated quickly :-0
Thank you for the recommendation, but I actually want the LED on during the day and just off at night. It was a setting on my previous Samsung devices...just appears to be another thing removed, for some reason

Guess the Do Not Disturb option is your only bet. Hopefully it works.
try sleep for android...it has a feature of Do not disturb whenever you have sleep tracking on. So when you sleep just set that as an alarm and it will put the phone to do not disturb
I know you said you had problems with lightflow app but have you tried the light manager app? Works really well for me since they did the fix for 5.1.1.
