Problem with network recepction after digitizer replacement - Motorola Droid and Milestone Q&A, Help & Troublesh

I successfully replaced my digitizer on my Milestone, everything works but I obviously did something wrong when I put all parts together and now I have really bad network reception. Phone looses network often and sometimes even can't find any network. I double checked antenna connection on a motherboard and still the same. Any advices what should I look for to fix this myself?

Wi-Fi Connection Issue, Cab Solution ?

My Kaiser went away for a repair to fix a faulty USB connection, the handset had never had an issue connecting to my wireless network (Belkin N1 running in mixed mode b/g/n)
Now the handset was not repaired but replaced with a graded handset, as hard as I try I can't connect to my network, I've been through all the settings and have tried all sorts of options on both the router and handset...but all to no avail...
Handset details:
ROM 1.56.405.5
ROM Date: 8/28/07
Radio Version: 1.27.12.32
Protocol Version: 22.45.88.07H
My question, could my handset issue be resolved by loading a CAB to fix the Wi-Fi Network issue or possibly a ROM upgrade (non cooked if possible) or is it likely to be a genuine hardware fault and require the replacement of the handset...again.
I started a thread over on MoDaCo with some good advice coming back mostly to do with the router settings, I thought a post on this forum may bring out a few Kaiser hardware/network experts....so feel free to offer advice

I've had a similar problem recently. After flashing a new ROM, I couldn't connect to the internet via wifi, even though my phone gets an IP address from my router. After flashing a bunch of different ROMs with no success, I found that I had to slide the wifi power setting from "Best Battery" to "Best Performance" and then I could ping my phone and connect to the internet.
I'm not sure what changed, perhaps I broke the internal antenna due to dropping the phone a couple times.

Cheers for the input Roto, I have ramped up the power settings and this makes no difference in my case, I'm pleased to confirm I've not dropped my phone yet so that shouldn't be an issue.
I don't really want to flash the whole ROM, just a possible CAB solution would suit me just fine.
Its pretty frustrating as I'm not in a 3G/HSDPA area at home, so wireless via my router is as good as it gets for me at home.

Wifi antenna

hi i was wondering were the wifi antenna is located inside the tilt. i am having trouble connecting to wifi. it can barely detect my home network. so i was wondering maybe when i opened my phone earlier i had touched something i shouldnt have so please help thanks

Wifi range

I don't seem to get a very good wifi range on my hd7. The hd7 gets 1 bar where other devices in the same position relative to the router get 2 or3 bars, anyone else find this or is mine a faulty device?
im sorry i just found this but i have the same problem! i cant be more than 1 wall away from my router or my hd7 won't find my wifi! i hope this isnt a hardware issue:/
As for Me the Hd 7 has had the best connectivity for wifi for me .. totally pleased, might be somthing to do with the routers.. I have bad connectivity with my Hero but brilliant with the HD 7
WiFi issues
I have issues connecting to WiFi even in the same room as router is, on open networks in coffe shops and hotels.
It's very weird, I get the message that the password is incorrect, or the network unreachable.
I actually dont recall that have one case of successed WiFi connection, I think this is very strange!
Any advices how to improve phone's sensibility, where is Antenna placed?
thanks in advance,

I have been having the same problem. I noticed turning off my data connection completely actually helped some. It seem like the HD7 will try to connect through whatever connection is strongest.
can anyone test different Radios, see which one get better wifi reception.
I tested mine just next to my laptop, while my laptop reach last 2 bars, my HD7 disconnected sometimes.
Wifi reception.
I get pretty good WiFi reception I had to find a specific channel in a congested area i.e. my house but that was router side. I use my phone on WiFi at my house upstairs through a few walls with little issue. It gets the same level if reception as my iPad. Not really a great example there. While alot can effect WiFi reception you guys may have a legit hardware issue.
Same issue here. My HD2 could connect to my router anywhere in my house - however I move to another room now and the HD7 has real problems as the signal is showing as weak! I know it's not weak as my netbook and old HD2 still have no problems at all.. let's hope a radio update will sort it pout.
same issue here
I also encounter big problems with wifi.
At my place I can connect with my laptop and any previous phone I owned to my wifi from my bedroom, but not with my HTC HD7. When I'm in the same room I have nog issues at all.
At my parents place my phone doesn't like the wifi, I am not able to connect to the wifi even in the same room. Other phones are not having issues with the wifi.
Same issue on my EVO, i only have a 20 ft range on my wifi now. Not sure what happened but it really bums me out not being able to fix it.
I am also having this same problem with my EVO. Started not long ago and I have no idea why or how to fix it. no wifi really sucks
I have the exact same problem ever since I bought my HTC HD7S.
WiFi range is horrible regardless of the OS I'm on.
I just updated it to 7.8 and it is exactly the same.
I sent it in to HTC and they said they'd charge me 160 USD to fix it, the phone only cost 99 USD no contract, no fees, but carrier locked of course so it's not worth it.
I did drop it on the floor in Oakland, would any of you with this issue have done the same?
Would that be why my WiFi is so horrible?
What could I do to fix this, replace the WiFi chip inside the phone?

Wifi reception loss after Service

Hey there, long story short
Had some dust inside the camera lens (scratches all over the case etc)
Sent it to service, they changed everything from the outside so now it looks brand new.
Problem? Wifi reception now is really bad if you get 1 meter away from the router it will drop the wifi, the only way to get full bars is literally putting the phone on top of the router. It has the same IMEI so it is still my phone, maybe they have put some kind of glue inside that is blocking the WIFI reception? Maybe its Software related? I flashed the same ftf I used to flash before so that should flash the firmware and the software part of the wifi right?
What do you reccomend me to do?
Thank you guys
