working great
Working Great............Thanks For It Also Provide unroot update file if possible....
yeah, unroot would be nice....
there are already a post about rooting for duos in dev section. anyone have tested this one?
I'm working on the unroot script ..
It would much easier if anyone provide me a nandroid backup of the rooted rom
It will also help me to make custom rom.
unroot instructions updated
hi friend..
nice work here... this deserves to belong to the dev section i guess (till we get our own subforum)
are you interested in contacting.the mod to get my and your thread merged?
because i see its pointless to have multiple threads with the same objective....
my thread also contains cwm package....
btw your root package is better.than mine...as it contains latest superuser package and latest su and busybox binaries... so its best we get the threads merged (i have no problems if you want to be op of merged thread)
and should we use the common dev section or this accessory section for duos related developments?

ok.. I'm sorry if that was taken that way.... but
firstly...it was not rude... sarcastic...maybe yes... but sarcasm is to be taken with a pinch of salt.....
and i reaffirm the fact that 3.0.3.2 has.nothing special in it over 3.0.3 that a general end user will require in day to day phone usage... and moreover the su binary can be updated through the superuser or superSU app.
moreover if THAT was rude, then what is this ???
(and no more discussion over this issue...this is dev thread...so let's stick to topic)

Hi all.
I was wondering about how to get the ff. functions on my SGAce S5830:
1. Haptic Feedback
2. LED flashlight control (Market apps don't work)
3. Custom ROM update (New FW + Root)
Also, I ran the Super One Click rooting tool (v1.7) and it was successful. But when i ran AdFree, it said that it couldn't find a partition to write the files to..
Any help pls? TvmIA
Flashlight:

2. There's free market app (Search: samsung led)
3. There's no custom ROMs atm but you can flash the newest unofficial software with my tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12874680#post12874680

oh my! im very sory
(Sorry if I have mistakes in writing but I´m doing my best )
Well, here I go again... Few days ago I rooted my Captivate (At least I think I did it ) I flash it with Odin 1.85, I put it:
Kernel.- boog kj3 kernel3
Firmware.- I897UCKJ3_withBL
Ir runs with Gingerbread 2.3.5
So everything was fine until i tried to instal Titanium Backup, the first time I tried there was a legend that said: "Sorry, I can not log in as root. This app ... bla bla bla ... Please verify that your ROM is rooted and includes BusyBox, and try again"
After that I went to the Play Store and dowloaded Busybox but... Guess what? I couldn´t instal it , there was an error , it said something like: "I am unable to verify whether or not certain utilities needed for this application to run are present and functional on your device.
This problem could be cause by a device that is not properly rooted or by superuser settings that are misconfigured."
So the next step was install SuperUser app to "Give them" (To Busybox and Titanium) the necessary tools for their correctly instalation BUT..! I Still can´t instal anything I was looking for a thread or topic in the forum but nothing found, so please I don´t know what else to do , obviously something is missing but WHAT IS IT ? I really going to appreciate your help with this problem... Thanks

It's confusing because I have the ClockworkMod and I can perform some tasks like wipe Dalvik cache, It is assumed that you can only do this if you´re SuperUser or root, right? Thanks for responding!!!
U just have a kernel that has cwm recovery baked in by the dev. U do not have root though. And yep, this is possible.
And u don't even need Root if u r trying to flash a dev rom. See TRusselo's Guide that is a stickied thread in the Q & A forum for more info on flashing.

Thanks a lot, now I'm reading more to understand better all the things that involves android... I was used to Windows only but now I think that I´m going to have to learn Linux lol. Again thanks!
Youll like this Mod!!!!
Many of us keep on trying new roms every now and then and for that we know we have to always perform this "Pain In The A**" procedure of booting into recovery to make a BACKUP of our roms!!! . Which eats up a lot battery aswell. This mod will help you make a nandroid backup without booting into recovery.
I am not the developer of this MOD....I just helped the developer in making this mod compatible with our device. It works just fine. i have tested it myself. All credits goes to the developer himself.
Requirements:
1. Rooted android phone
2. A terminal emulator installed on phone
3. Latest version of Busybox
4. A working CWM based recovery installed ( Works even with the Temporary one)
5. Some patience
Installation:
1. Download and copy zip file to SD card
2. Reboot into recovery
3. Choose install zip from SD card, select zip and flash
4. Reboot
How to back up:
1. Open terminal emulator
2. Type su to obtain root
3. Type onandroid
4. Wait till it notifies you that the backup has been done :good:
5. You can restore it from the CWM recovery as you have always done.

What exactly is the difference between this & the official one?

As i said i am not the developer...just wanted to share this mod in our forum as it supports. Does it vibrates when the back up is finished? (The script from ameer's thread) . I think it has a add-on of vibration and led lights blinking as and when the backup is finished. ( We Dont have an Led light...(obvious) so that wont work.) I never ran the original script so i have no idea about the vibration thing at the end. This one does vibrate.

I did the onandroid backup with the files installed from the original thread.
2 remarks:
1) you need to install the extra zip file for s5830i referred to with a link in the thread otherwise you will get the error message that your boot partition is not found
2) while making the backup in the background it's better not to stress your phone to much otherwise you will get an automic reboot during the backup process even when the min frequency is set higher than 156 mhz. So I'm not sure if this will work if you will get an incoming call during this backup process

Stock firmware is the original samsung firmwares not edited not rooted not tweaked nothing
ROM could be many thing TW is like samsung based firmware but has a few extra touches like rooting some tweaks and apps that requires root stuff like that
And another kind is on CyanogenMod this sort of roms offers speed more smoothnes and lot better performance than touchwiz but still with it you cant use s-pen features like on the stock and some other bugs
And there are AOKP they are similiar in looks like CyanogenMod but with a really masive customizations available in there

you can try wiping /system /preload /data /cache /dalvik cache and flash the stock rom again or you can try custom roms of your choice after reading from here. (dont ask which is the best, just read reviews, watch youtube videos and decide for yourself)
Edit: you can flash philz kernel first from here first and then do all the wipes:

Look, you're having problems with the stock ROM, after the update. Now u have some choices,
1)Going back to ICS using sammobile and ODIN.
2)Flashing the PhilZ kernel using the link given by treacherous_hawk and then doing those wipes and again install JB using ODIN, like you did earlier. yes it'll wipe all the data so better back up the phone on PC before doing the wipes.
3) Use custom ROMs. You can read about the custom ROMs in the Android development forum, there are methods to root with the CWM recovery and then how to install custom ROMs.

Yesterday I had flashing philz kernel XXLT6 and then did rooted with rootsuperuser file (install at cwm).
And now when turn on phone, opening 'galaxy note n7000' show with caution sign, that sign was never shown before. Is it safe for my note? Was it true behave?
What should i have to do? with right step actually. What first, what then, what last.

you got the yellow exclamation mark because you used the .tar file for philz kernel. if you use the .zip file and flash it from stock recovery you automatically get root and no yellow triangle. You can remove the yellow triangle using the "triangle away" app from play store( paid version, if you consider donating) or search for free version on XDA. use that to get rid of yellow triangle.
That is the yellow triangle you've got. Don't worry mate. It's just a symbol, if u wanna get rid of it, go to the Android development forum here and there will be a thread for how to remove yellow triangle, read that. The sign is nothing to be worried about. Now you have rooted, you can flash the various custom ROMs and be extremely carefull to follow the instructions in the ROM thread before you flash.
Hmm okay guys.
So um, what should i have to do first? Wiping data and then install new stock rom or reinstall kernel firstly or what?
I was read in android dev.thread and got nothing exactly the same with my problems. I need some right step to doing stuff (philz kernel, wipe data, update new stock), so that nothing bad will happen to note.
Thanks brfore

if you are not on safe kernel, you should install safe kernel first like philz (which i guess you already did) boot into recovery mode and do all the wipes (if you do not want to save any data). put the phone in download mode connect to computer, open pc odin, click pda select the stock rom from save location and click start. Once finished put the philz kernel on ext sd card (the one corresponding to your stock rom) and go to stock recovery and install zip from ext card and select the philz kernel .zip file and you should be good to go.

Once finished wiping, we should choose 'reboot system' or just 'power off' , and go to download mode after that?

If the contacts are in phone memory they would get deleted.. If you go to mounts/storage and choose the last option mount usb while connected to computer and delete everything on internal memory (not on external sd) you will be able to clear up usb storage space too but then you will lose what's app data (example)..

Hey guys, which one of the newest firmwares are rootable? I downloaded some of the newest ones and the ace ginger root file doesn't work for it so I had to downgrade until I found one that was rootable.
Sorry if this has already been asked or talked about before but I'm a little off on the Cooper forums xD

I tried the upd_1.zip on ddkq8 & it had worked. But when I flashed int2ext+ on BE kernel, device didn't boot & after a factory reset via cwm, it did. But this time, all the apps that need root access like the cwm, sd maid, etc., failed to open up & stuck on black screen with the app name label at the top. What could be the reason ?

Let's clear something up !
First of all, ALL ROMS can be rooted !
I have alot of experience in that, and after 3 years of testings first and only problem when u try to root a rom is SYSTEM free SPACE !
So, before complain that a rom cannot be rooted, just see how much free space u got (u can do that without root, using last 3.0 root explorer).
After u do that, make a flashable zip only with meta scripts that remove Maps.apk or something, than try again. It's 100000% workin !
Peace all !
Hi everybody!
You could easily remove bloatware (and much more) via aroma filemanager 1.8, just mount all, install zip from sdcard, select aromafm-1.80.zip run it and enjoy. The easiest way! Good luck.

There's a bloatware removal script for galaxy y that works even for ace. It works even without root. It is just a updater script that removes many unwanted apps. Just flash via recovery. Easy as that

As aromafm-1.80.zip by Amarullz is a file manager for all android , you can: remove or add any file anywhere, change the names of all the files , etc.
Good luck. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108

Thank you! Downloading. Thanks for everything guys. I gave cooper to my girlfriend and I had Stock on Fire installed and it's giving her problems. The /system seems to have gotten corrupted somehow and a lot of apps FC and when I try making a Nandroid it stops at backing up system.
I'm about to just flash the latest stock rom, root it and add the all in one ICS/lockscreen mod and just leave it there. Do you guys recommend anything else? I just want something that I can leave it at and not worry about anymore.

Hi SuperAce609, yesterday I installed S5830BUKT2_S5830VODKT1_S5830XWKT8_HOME.tar.md5, erased Thinkfreeoffice with aromafm-1.80, rooted with upd_1.zip, installed CWM recovery, flashed BE kernel and int2ext+, updated superuser and Google play and all went like a charm. I made it for practising and remembering the old times. Now, I'm back on my favorite rom again, but as I said before all went fine. Cheers.
