Would you recommend buying LG Optimus 2x or wait for Xperia U ??
Well, if you can get good price for O2X you should buy it, the only thing i don`t like about O2X is battery life, but i`m used to it by now.
if you're a gamer go for o2x the only thing i don't like on this phone is the lack of support of lg and tegra 2
Yes, if you are a gamer buy the o2x.
For better performance and longer battery life use a custom rom!
The LG stock rom is not good...
i dont like that xperia u has no sd card slot and only 4gb available. thats BULLSH*T. sadly sony doesnt see it the same way.
Unless you have a perfectly fast and reliable data connection 24x7 hooked up with your phone, I'd recommend the O2X. Regardless if you're into gaming or not.
With only 4GB of memory and no expansion, you'll pretty much use all that memory for installing apps. Which means that you'll pretty much have no space for your songs or videos.
O2X all the way.
So Sometime you'll see me in this forum..
I'm currently and owner of an x10 mini and for the price I paid it's a Beast with all the Mods I've done
When you buy a Sony phone, the better choice is the xperia sola.
This have 8gb memory and a sd card slot.

I have the choice between a LG 2x vs Nesus S which would you choose ?
Do you regret this phone ?
Only thing that's swaying me to this phone is the lack of sd slot on the nexus.
Whats the biggest complaint on this phone ?
As much as I like the optimus, you would be an idiot to not get the galaxy. Where I live, optimus 2x is $300 and nexus $550+.
We will likely not get ICS for a long time.

Gaming im pretty sure the o2x wins, as too for media and for the camera so if i were you id choose the o2x with a custom rom its pretty dam good.
The nexus s will probably get the ICS update first but who cares right..... if you care more for the OS and less about features then get that otherwise choose the o2x i haven't regretted my choice 1 bit.
go for O2X. I would never consider a phone that has no SD card slot.
o2x for shure. with CM7.2 i like it even more than galaxy nexus. not even talking about nexus s
Nexus S with an 18 month old hardware? Yeah, O2X for me too. (No regrets. As long as your willing to flash custom firmware of course.)
If you want raw power and SD (which I do) go for the LG if you want out of the box no tampering go samsung
It seems there is way more availability of roms, kernels, ect I don't regret my choice
Making bad decision's one at a time.
I had that same problem too when I was about to buy my o2x, and it all came down to this: o2x has faster processor and external sd slot. I have no regret and I am satisfied with my decision to buy o2x, especially considering support of developer community toward o2x. Not to mention: with dual core processor, o2x is capable of handling whatever game available in android market, at least in several years to come.
O2x better than Nexus S. Is the better quality/price. Merry Christmas
I actually bought a nexus as a present for a teenage girl nice big screen but the resolution is the same so my screen looks better I think its good for blind people tho I guess lol the hardware is just way to good on this phone ( other than the internal memory) but I think its a pretty one sided argument in my eyes
Making bad decision's one at a time.
Lovin my O2X, but Nexus S will always get the first hand updates for Android.
Depends on you I guess...
Hardware specs - O2X
Software update speed - NS
I have 250 eur, i want to buy used phone, now i can buy LG Optimus 2x but im not shure is it better than Samsung Galaxy S2 ? I need phone for everything, from experimenting to every day use! LG o2x is good but it doesen't have super amoled display and camera on custom rom is bad, tegra support is bad and ScreenCast not work on Tegra 2... but o2x is very easy to root, i don't know that much about SGS2 so i ask u, which i should buy?
Go and buy an used SGS2.

I'd go for S2 too, if the price difference is not much.

If you can afford it, pick S 2. There is a reason why S 2 was chosen as one of the best smartphones of 2011 by many sites.

Thank you for answers, used o2x in mu country is about 210 eur, and sgs2 is 300-350 eur, i have 250 eur, i don't know what to do, to wait for sgs2 or to buy o2x...
in my honest opinion i wouldnt trade my o2x for a galaxy s2, i wanted to do it for some time, but my friend has 1, he has the best performing software available and i have more productivity with my o2x at 1.4 ghz than he does with 1.5... if you want a bigger screen and the ram difference really gets you go for the samsung, but i doubt you will use 1 GB ram anytime soon...

not to mention, in any benchmark, o2x always scores a lot better in graphics...

Hi everyone,
I've got a burning question.
i'm curently the owner of a LG optimus 2x and my experiences with that phone are not that great. Only recently my phone started to work rather well due to a good custom rom based on a stock ics build. (Thanks a bunch Carburano!!)
My contract will expire soon, so I will be in the market for a new phone in about a month and I am seriously considering the optimus 4x HD, although many optimus 2x users would consider me a fool becaulse of those 2 letters on the front bezel...
If I have read well, there are currently no custom Roms available, but is that a miss with this phone?
So basically... would you, as owners, recommend your phone?
Thank you so much for your wisdom!

As there are already some threads on this topic, I recommend you to do a bit research in them. But in brief, I can tell you the following: The stock rom runs really well. Custom Roms might be availible at some time (there's a Sense port in "no phone" state). If you want a phone with removable battery and/or SD card slot, or you're looking for a Tegra phone for gaming, go for the 4X. If you don't need those, have a look at the N4 (if ou can get one), there's most development.
Whoops!

Sorry for posting something that's already been posted... I read quite a bit already and didn't find topics on this, but I'll try to look better next time.

try nexus 4 or wait
Go for nexus 4 or Wait for tegra 4 phones. Those will be in february.
I'd recommend this phone if you don't need custom roms (because they may never be available, even if progress was made). It's an excellent phone, slim, powerful, with some enjoyable LG modifications. The microSD port and removable battery is a big plus.
As Shuny says, great phone, incredible screen quality ( even better than IP4S and SGS3 ) , powerful . If you want a STOCK ROM , its your phone. But , as people said, Nexus 4 or Tegra4 devices are coming.
regards.
( sorry for poor english , im brazilian )
My only gripe about this phone is the camera and heat... I haven't really tested out other quadcore phone so i don't know if they heat up easily or not, I only tested their camera and it was good.. SGS3 and SGN2....
Anyhow, MWC is around the corner so wait around for a bit and widen your choices...

I really don't like the S3... the shape, the software... the S2 was nice, but the S3, not so much... at least for me anyway...
I don't do much gaming, and I really love the form factor of the 4X... the software also seems a lot more responsive than the S3...

I sold my s3 and hox and got the 4x. Well I got more money for the s3 then I paid for the 4x and same applies for the hox as well and I don't regret it. The screen in the 4x is better then the s3 no burn in or checkerboard issues like the s3 screen has. Battery in the 4x is superior to the hox and also removable battery and memory card is a big benefit that the hox don't have. The camera is the weakest on the 4x but there are ways to fix that even without root. And the 4x is faster then the hox. The tegra 3 on the 4x is better optimized. Anyway the 4x is a totally fine quard core monster. And also u can use a normal mhl cable instead buying a special one that works with the s3. So there is more benefit on having the 4x then non benefit.

Im living in Brazil . Isnt a cheap phone here, about R$ 1799,00 ( about USD$900 in a conversion ) , i think MWC brings us some new phones, like Sony Z , Nexus 4 , and many others with 2GB + quadcore in this price range.
But, I choose LG P880 vs IP4S and SGS3 , not for price, but incredible screen and performance, IMHO , better than S3 and IP.
My opinion : BUY IT !

Exactly what I think...
I'm going to sell my S3, get me a 4X and even save some money...
The 4X has everything I need... the S3 is a great phone, but it looks extremely fragile... and the home button, boy I really hate that... I was a previous owner of a Galaxy Nexus and the soft buttons are a lot better than physical buttons...
And I really think Jelly Bean and a new kernel can fix most issues the 4X has with games...

I know it , but 3 months ago, when i purchased the phone, i pay R$1799, its cheaper now, i know, but , also you know , we suffer with taxes here. In EUA and Europe , this guy can be purchased by US$ 350 - 400. So , lets return and focus ... This smartphone is a great choice.
Wow, thanks everyone! That was really all I needed to hear. I really want a removable battery and a sd card slot... so my options were limited to the O4x or the sgs3... an I really prefer the looks of the O4X and the screen.... it was just the brand that concerned me... having to wait over a year for ICS on my O2X from the announcement to a crappy release... made me worry!
You guys helped out a lot! I think I will permanently join you in about a month!
And lets hope there will be some custom roms to play with in the future!
Thanks!

Hi guys, does ant one know what the 4X maximum possible data speeds are? Looking at the Optimus 4X phone over the Optimus G because it uses NVIDIA Tegra chip-set. From what I hear LTE is getting averages of 30-40mps and if the 4X can match that I see no reason not to get it. Does 4X support ATT or T-Mobile network?
Also how does the 4X compare to the G? Any one have any first hand experience with the two? Any recommendations between the two?
I don't know about network but in performance the optimus G is much faster . because its CPU support dual channels but tegra 3 has one channel .
And the optimus G has 2GB ram , but Optimus 4x has 1GB

Try Use THANKS Button If I Helped
Well I noticed all Tegra chip-sets have a max of 1gb ram and I would imagine that has to do with the CPU architecture... Could be that the reserve power saving CPU can only support 1 channel so they made the entire CPU support 1 channel so when power saving is on people aren't pissed off that their only using half their ram lol. From what I can tell this phone run's games pretty well and that's what I like, also I hear Tegra does a few things better than Omap such as SHA decryption. Its a tough choice between 4x and One x +. I hear for some reason HTC doesn't have One X + set up to use HDMI as an alternate screen like the Optimus and Galaxy X3 witch is a little annoying... I'm not sure if custom ROM would solve this or if hardware is in-capable. Another thing between these phones is that the 4x still looke like a phone where as HTC decided to give One X + a very odd shape and look and refuses to switch to IPS display's. Though I noticed the One X + has a better camera I'm wondering why no android or window phone can top an iPhones camera... Thx for the info about 4x and G i will definitely take that into consideration.

G using S4 Pro APQ8064 28nm cpu, this is better than O4X Tegra 3 40nm cpu, and also G have 2G RAM, Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

if ur burget enough to get G, it's better for choice.
AW: [Q] Optimus G or Optimus 4X?
Advantage of 4X is the SD slot. And of course the much lower price...
Gesendet von meinem LG-P880 mit Tapatalk 2
Everything the optimus G can do the 4x is capable of more less
Don't forget the camera too , I think Optimus G has better camera that don't have the low light problem of 4x 1
Optimus G has glass on back side also, which makes the device very stylish and attractive. However, that adds to the risk of the back glass cracking due to temperature changes as reported on the G forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2021651). You won't have such a risk with 4X.
The battery of Optimus G is locked and not accessible, no SD card slot (as mentioned above) are other reasons against G.
That said, I am interested to buy a G when it becomes available in India (hopefully sometime this month).
Is it a ridiculous decision to exchange moto g for sony xperia SP ??? i like the looks of the SP
delete post...
Not at all! It depends of what you need: if you want a larger screen, a faster CPU (I think that S4 pro dual is faster than S400), if you don't care to have the last android updates like kit kat and you are ready to put the difference of100$ in a xperia,
You've got the shining illumination bar and so on after that my little deception is the weight but I accepted it long time ago

Horrible idea, It's considered a downgrade more than an upgrade. The SP only has a better GPU. Stick with the G for now, if you really like Sony, wait for the Xperia G to come out (a new mid-range phone) I own an SP but I wouldn't recommend buying it now, maybe last year but now, definatly not. Also it weighs a ton which is one of it's bigger flaws.

It is still a dual core after all.
well the dual core krait in the SP is much faster than the moto G and it has better gpu, the camera's are on par, but only because of the terrible software on the xsp, the battery in the sp trumps the G and not to mention the LED strip on the XSP. wait till the xperia G comes out, now thats gonna be one heck of a phone
