GB Cellular South and MMS

Right now I'm rocking the latest version of AOSP's Gingerbread ROM. I'm really impressed with how it runs but I the same issue with every nonstock Rom. MMS won't send! I've searched high and low and tried editing apns-conf.XML a hundred different ways. What am I missing and how do I fix it? Any Cellular South user's had success?

wow, you are running gingerbread without any problems on CS? i was thinking about doing it but was concerned that it would be unstable/unreliable since i use my phone for work and depended on it to work when i need it to.
Its actually pretty stable on these here heros lol at least for me. Everything works fine, way better than stock IMO

where did you find the file? Also, have u had any problems with any rom with CS? Im with sprint but the wife is with CS and im a little confussed with that rooting and stuff for CS. I know that you shouldnt flash any radios besides the one that is on the RUU from CS but any little tips you can give me? Thanks.
Also the file, a link to download it?

DevonWav ics radio

Hi all and merry Christmas,, I have a old crappy that works perfect and I flashed DevonWav's ice rom, everything is smooth and rolls nice except my reception for at& t, my question is , is there another radio I can flash that might give me better reception, or what are my options.

I believe in OP he links to soggy's CM7 modems. So I would guess any of them will work.
OK, thanks,, so it is a different modem that I should try to get a solid data connection,, thanks for the reply,, I appreciate it.
Happy holidays to all and a huge thanks to all the devs for all you folks do for us,,,, ALOHA & MAHALO

Although most of the CM7 modems will work, in a voice call the person at the other end may experience poor voice quality if you are not running an i9000 modem. Do a test yourself to make sure there is no constant loud static from the captivate.

Loving this community...

Just wanted to thank everyone here for making this phone enjoyable. I come from my og droid (may she rest in peace) to the revo and i thought I'd be stuck in stock rom hell forever but you guys have done amazing things with it, so thank you all!

I'll second that!
I jumped to Verizon the day before unlimited data went away and the best option (only option, imho) was the Revo.
I was so disappointed with the phones performance coming of a rom'd G2X (left tmo only because of poor coverage in my area). Without this awesome community this phone would be next to useless but now even my girl (she got the G2X) is jealous! Thanks guys!
same....
got the revo day before they were about to close unlimited. at that time there were only 3 phones with 4g for vzw (charge, thunderbold and the revo)
wasn't very impressed at first but after MTs and the gang's work....its pretty sweet

That would be amazing... I can only imagine how difficult it must be to port to the revo. I hereby volunteer to be the Guinea pig! Lol

Cyanogenmod on LG Thrill - a learning process

Background: I'm a programmer by trade, but completely new to Android. I've had my AT&T Thrill 4g for a few months now, and am just getting into this scene, so please forgive noob mistakes. I'm posting this both to fill my "10 posts before you can do anything useful on XDA" quota, and in case others find this useful. I also hope you will correct me or make any suggestions you think of.
My Phone: I have an LG Thrill 4g p925 on AT&T in the United States. I currently have baseband v21e from the O3D forums in order to have the latest Gingerbread. My understanding is that the hardware of the two phone's is identical, and that the software is pretty much interchangeable. I can downgrade to US-based Froyo or the v20p GB radio easily enough if need be.
The Goal: I love Cyanogenmod, and hope to get it running smoothly with no wifi issues. My favorite CM7-based rom is currently pandaball's, available both for the O3D (p920) and Thrill (p925).
The Problem: Installing the p925 build of CM7 Release Client 3 (RC3) cannot recognize my v21e (GB) baseband. Therefore, I can't get mobile data or even edit my APNs.
My understanding from this post is that the problem is due to the fact that the p925 CM7 builds were designed to work with the Froyo radios.
Possible Solution? I am going to try installing the p920 version and see if that helps. See this post.
Other Issues:[B/] Wifi has been terrible for me on older builds that worked for some reason or another, but that was before I knew much about basebands.
I'll post updates or edit this post as I figure things out ...
Welcome man!! I love the 20p baseband. No issues with it.
But we have a few major issues with cm7.
One that makes me swith back to stock based is in call echo.

Could an offical JB ROM finally be on its way?

AT&T Notes get theirs tomorrow. Hopefully we get ours too/soon, maybe like the S2 did.

That's making a big assumption. T-Mobile may not even be thinking about JB for our phones. After all, they didn't sell very many of them to begin with. They may be focusing on getting updates out to their more popular phones (GSIII and Note II).
I would love to see JB from T-Mo, but i'm not holding my breath. Plus, with CM10 and Carbon ROM already at 4.2.2, it's not like we don't have decent JB options.
I would love to try a touchwiz based jb ROM though. But that means I would have to go back to stock unless ptmr wants to update his Jedi leader ROM if we even get jb... I don't see that happening though

S suite / touch wiz and wifi calling is what I miss on CM.
The closest thing I can suggest would be to flash the at&t version but use the "blaze" modem. If you do go this route make sure that the one that you flash is prerooted that way you can remove the at&t bloatware. Now you will loose the WiFi calling until someone can go through both two versions to find where the "WiFi calling" is located

Actually there are about 20k of this model in the wild. T Mobile made a deal with Samsung in order to get a jump on the Galaxy 4 they literally bought enough of this model to fill a warehouse. T Mobile then turned around and contracted their sales out to places like Costco and Wal-Mart where they are still being sold at a discounted price.

I wouldn't mind flashing the AT&T JB if it will fly - just to see what the feel is like.
I am quite dependent on WIFI calling, but I can always reflash the original and reload my apps I guess.
if anyone has already done this: if there are kinks, could you please post back?
If it does one out I would like to see what is different because from what I understand the Canada version has the pop out browser which the att version doesn't meanwhile both are missing the nav panel and multi Window

Wifi Calling is the only one I miss with CM based AvatarROM. The S Suite are just something there that I used 10% of the time. And I hated touchwiz. It makes my phone sllloooowwww and buggy. I'm loving my ROM now its fast, although not as smooth but still very stable.
I agree with that statement and I have wondered is there a way to compare the touchwiz from the att room and the touchwiz from tmobile to find the difference? I would be more than happy to wade through the code myself is someone could point me into the proper direction.....

just reading around the web, the JB release I think is inevitable. i717, s3 and s2 are out, the international version N7000 is out in some parts of the world [not all], so, its just t-mo that is slow at this point. could be any day, any hour.
then we'll all figure out what we hate about it and resume complaining....
Good point......

I'm frankly on the fence here - reading through the AT&T version group's collective notes - I dunno what the gain is with JB.
that its new? there are a number of folks that have had troubles [this is not unusual - check google for any sort of notes on 'upgrade to jelly bean'] - shorter battery life, jerky performance, hangs, lags.
I am VERY happy with the stock/rooted/debloated performance I'm getting.
we just picked up a GS3. I was set to be dazzled by its performance etc and spent hours getting it nuked to the bone, then installing, rooting, debloating. To me, its not worth the extra money compared to what I paid for the note 1. there is neglible performance difference [i'm not gaming, so take that into consideration]. side by side, any fool on earth would pick the Note's display, not just because its bigger but it looks startlingly gorgeous next to the GS3. The GS3 had a bunch of wifi connectivity issues. I don't know if I have them all squashed yet or not - jury is still out.
there's more "interference ware" on the GS3 - things that are scanning in the background to tell you all sorts of dangers are lurking. some I could uninstall safely, some not. the Note, the way I have it config'd, is 'quiet' by comparison.
battery life looks like the Note wins so far. will know better once the GS3 is finalized and real use occurs a lot.
if it were strictly my call, I'd trade the 3 for another note 1.
jellybeans or not.... i prefer beefsteak.
What about beefsteak flavored jellybeans?

Thats true but we will always have problems until they release the official JB, we all suffer from the random reboots followed by the blue screen when running these roms....Im using rooted stock, that way I know everything works instead of finding out when I need to use a feature.
